Local, casual grocery store, with decent selection of hard liquor, basic selection of produce, meats and pre-packaged products.
While this place is not as clean or charming looking as Real Food Co. just a few blocks down the street, they have similar store hours (open until 9pm), and they have what Real Food does not have: Fresh, good quality meats at a very fair price!!
In fact I cross checked prices of meats here vs. Molly Stones. Their prime rib steak is clearly a few dollars cheaper than similar cuts at Molly Stones per lb., and their chicken legs/thighs were also fresh but super affordable. We tried both, and they were both very, very delicious. In fact I just might prefer their meats over Molly Stones. They also have pre-marinated teriyaki and korean bbq shortribs. We tried the shortribs too and they were incredibly soft and flavorful.
Their produce are also very, very affordable too. The other day I picked up a few pieces of chicken thighs, onions, potatoes, carrots and an apple and the total was actually not even $15! And their quality is very high for the price. Really quite deceiving and a pleasant surprise as their store looks a bit run-down and shabby.
The only setback about this place is that they just don't offer a big variety of items, produce and meats included. But I can assure you that they definitely have all the basics that you might need in your everyday cooking. Very glad that this store is so local to me, I can totally walk to this store for basic items rather than having to drive out to Molly Stones or other larger stores. I still use larger grocery stores like Molly Stones and Trader Joe's for mass shopping to really stock up on stuff once every week or two, but everything I know I can get locally and can get it either cheaper or just superior quality for the price, I go to this store and to Real Food Co. read more
