    From the dreams collection

Bridal palace is a small store chock-full of GEMS! A cousin recommended going to the larger bridal boutiques to pop the champagne with friends. At those places, they have a sales person that is with you at all times, that dresses the bride and the mom and the friends have to wait on the sofa for them to open the curtain. I much preferred our second appointment at the Bridal Palace. Huda, the owner greeted us, told us to pick out gowns. We filled up the room and as a mom I got to dress my own daughter. We had so much fun, revealing the gowns to the other girls. She and I knew instantly which ones were going to be HER. The quality of the inventory was superior and the prices for the exact same gown at other places, and online were the more. When it came time to do the alterations, I was a bit intrigued and concerned, because it was a very intricate along the bottom with a six-foot train. The dress was an Italian dress from the dreams collection when we return to pick it up and try it on we were so impressed. It was perfect! Huda is a magician! She told me she did the most beautiful bustles and she was right. It rained at my daughters outdoor ceremony, and the train was heavy. The bustles held the entire night through dancing and everything. She was very upfront about the cost of the alterations and the price was exactly what she quoted us and was completely fair. It's been a month and we've gotten some pictures back, the gown, and the way that it fit her it's simply gorgeous! After three stops my daughter circle back to buy the dress of her dreams and we had a wonderful experience.

Houda (the owner) and her team is the best! Their selection of dresses are top notch with great prices. Houda and team is very knowledgeable about the kind of dress my daughter wanted, was also very courteous and professional, super helpful in helping my daughter find her dream senior prom dress. I couldn't help but browse other dresses and gowns for myself for the future. Beautiful shop with beautiful dresses! Thank you Houda for setting up shop in this area!

Prom! This dress is stunning and my daughter looked amazing thanks to Houda at Bellevue Bridal Palace.

We found the Bridal Palace here on Yelp and it definitely lived up to the hype. Houda and her team were super helpful and did not pressure. This dress wowed us from the start. I will say that although it may seem pricey, it is true quality. We ordered it on our second visit and it came with plenty of time to spare. My daughter and I can't say enough about the time and personalized service Houda provided. I have four daughters and will be back for all of their formal needs. Thank you, Bridal Palace!8

I brought Gabriel a designer suit that still didn't feel right after store alterations. He was pretty honest--said the best it could become was a 7/10--and then went to work. He adjusted the shoulders, chest, sleeves, lapels, which required him to move every single button. It was literally a completely different suit. And for the first time, it actually fit the way it should. Since then, I've gone back for five custom suits, multiple shirts, and my favorite, an overcoat (which I'd avoided for years because of off-the-rack fit issues). Every item has come out perfectly tailored. If fit has always been a compromise for you, it's worth seeing what Gabriel can do. Adding some photos, but I'm not a fashion/textiles photographer. It's harder than it looks.

My posture is very upright and that just makes the chest issue even more difficult. There aren't many places in the US outside of New York that do real bespoke -- patterns cut from scratch. I'm glad I found Gabriel. He has a great understanding of classic men's style and proportions. The suit he made for me is very comfortable and continues to get better as the canvas takes the shape of my body. I keep looking for areas to make micro improvements for my next project with him. But to be honest, the fit is so good I'm not sure there's much to change other than experimenting with other styles, like a double breasted. I plan on commissioning something from him every year as long as I stay in Washington. The super tight, short jacket with the bum exposed, with skinny lapels was trending for a while on off the rack clothing. Even some made to measure places make suits like this. If you are looking for a suit to wear for the next 10 years, I encourage you to give Gabriel a try and have him make something timeless for you.

It's also one of the best places to go when you need a suit for Four Weddings and Funeral. Especially when they are last minute I went in there the other day as I needed a suit because my dad passed away unexpectedly and needed a suit for the funeral ( My previous suit no longer fit as I lost the battle of the Bulge due to the....Covid lock downs, yeah..let's go with that) I walked in looking like like I'd just lost a fight with a laundry basket. And let me tell you, it was a transformative experience. It was like stepping into a sartorial spa, but instead of cucumber slices, they offered me perfectly pressed suit jackets and shirts. The staff? Absolute legends. They didn't just sell clothes; they conducted a full-blown intervention. No joke My personal stylist, bless his soul, "Louie" (and another gentleman who's name i didnt get but deserves equal credit) looked at my current attire with the kind of pity usually reserved for stray kittens, then proceeded to dress me like I was about to negotiate a multi-million dollar deal...or at least attend a moderately fancy brunch. And the alterations? Forget magic; this was straight-up wizardry. They took a suit that fit me like a potato sack and turned it into something that made me look like I could actually parallel park on the first try. I swear, the tailor must have a secret stash of fairy dust and a laser measuring tape. The best part? The "You're gonna like the way you look" line. It's not just a slogan; it's a prophecy. I left feeling like a suave secret agent, ready to take on the world, or at least remember to put the toilet seat down. So, if you're like me, and your fashion sense is currently residing somewhere between "lost hiker" and "guy who wears socks with sandals," do yourself a favor. Go to Men's Wearhouse. They'll have you looking so good, you'll start accidentally winking at your own reflection. And honestly, who doesn't want that??

We discovered them via a list of tailors provided by the bridal shop where her wedding dress was purchased. Naturally we both wanted to look perfect for our special day, and my wife was hesitant entrusting anyone to alter such a significant investment. After meeting Dora Lee her anxiety rapidly subsided. It was evident that the care and compassion Dora exuded during her introductory meeting would be displayed in her dress. This comfort and trust were further reciprocated by entrusting them with the altering of my suit in conjunction with the dress. Timelines were accurate, the final product was exactly as we expected, and it was awesome value for money (for alterations on a suit jacket and a wedding dress) We had both scheduled two fittings and got our final alterations completed roughly 9 days before we tie the knot. I only took pictures for my suit jacket (wearing the complete ensemble minus tie and pocket square), but it's a fantastic example of their work - they modified the back and shoulders, as well as the jacket sleeve length so it's more fitted to my body type (this was already a 38 Short jacket measurement). They close at 6pm on weekdays, and we live in West Seattle, but on a recommendation from a friend, we chose this place after shopping around, and YES, it was totally worth it. I took a leap of faith…read morewith Eltsa Bellevue based on the Greenlake reputation and felt like it was an uphill battle for my 7 weeks of alterations. I originally had a size 8 dress that Marina said was too tight to do any alterations to and apparently had no extra inseam material to work with (which was totally fine, I trusted her). I immediately ordered a new dress in size 12 to provide the proper amount of material she needed to work with, as she requested. Week after week I noticed little progress being made in the dress, even after expressing that the dress was a fit-and-flare/trumpet shape (also showing pictures of the dress from the designer's website, see first picture below). It was oversized and had no shape to it-- completely A-line shape instead of fitted. At week 5, she told me the next appointment would be my pick-up appointment and it looked like a sack (second picture below). When I expressed my concern for the dress looking A-line, with no shape that it was intended to have, she insisted there was nothing she could do to tailor the dress more. There was "nothing more to take in" even thought you could grab about an inch of extra material along my hips and there was plenty to take in down the thigh and back seams. I would call this out to her but she would dismiss me, and since I am not a seamstress, I trusted her. There were also instances where I felt gaslit into the dress being fine, for example, I pointed out the neckline was uneven from her tailoring and she would say she didn't see the unevenness. I had to be very firm and explicit in order to get things fixed, and even after I took my dress home, I still noticed some of the boning issues in the bodice weren't fully fixed. But I was exhausted at that point. I had to call Margo from Greenlake to come in and help because Marina was so resistant to helping. I was literally crying about how disappointed and sad I felt about my dress. Margo immediately knew what to do and my dress was transformed to my original request/the original shape of the dress. I was so happy with how it turned out after that but it was frustrating and disappointing to experience Marina's hesitation, resistance, and lack of understanding to fix the dress to help it fit my body. You will notice the dress is very simple with only one layer underneath. I'm surprised it was this difficult to accomplish with Marina but am grateful for Margo at Greenlake. Worth the drive to Greenlake for a better experience with your wedding dress!! Even with all the inconvenience, I still paid over $1100 and was charged for work that was done incorrectly. Definitely a learning experience but you only need a wedding dress once!!! Do it right with someone else. The first picture is my dress from the designer website. She "finished" my dress in time for her November vacation, but when I picked it up, there were a few things I was really unhappy with, which I'll list below. First, I will mention that I called Marina at the end of Sept for my mid-Nov wedding. 1. When I first called, she mentioned that she takes the entire month of Nov off, so the dress HAD to be finished before 10/31, which she said she could do, based on what I needed altered. (straps taken in, bodice/bust fitted to my size, high-slit added on one side, and bustle). After a few readjustment fittings, it seemed a little like she was rushing toward the end of the month, and she didn't exactly do/complete everything I wanted. 2. Besides the strap length and high slit, the biggest alteration needed on my dress was the bust size. The bust had boning and was FAR too large for my natural size. I asked her if she could adjust/fix it to fix my body, and she essentially said NO! She recommended adding padded sticky cups to fill it out, (which I did), but it STILL left a big gap at certain angles, and just looked far too large for my natural shape. This was the thing I disliked the most about my dress. A highly skilled seamstress would have been able to adjust this, and I feel like Marina said no because of her time constraints, and my opinion is that is a dishonest practice. 3. I picked up the dress around Oct 30th, and didn't realize it until after she was closed for November, but my dress was completely missing the hook clasp at the back!!! luckily the zipper went all the way up, so it didn't look horrible, but not having it on my wedding day meant the dress wasn't quite as secure/fitted as it should have been. I was really upset about it for a moment on my wedding day.. When all was said and done, I still found a way to feel great on my wedding day, but these adjustments would have gone MILES to help me feel more beautiful and stress free. I paid nearly $1k in alteration fees, and still really didn't get the dress exactly as I wanted. I almost wish I hadn't used venmo. TLDR: It seemed like Marina cared more about getting a client in/out than helping me feel my absolute best on my wedding day. If you just need basic adjustments (hem, straps), Eltsa Bridal and Marina could be a great option for you. If your dress needs more complex adjustments, go to a more skilled seamstress, as the cost will end up the same.
