I said yes to my reception dress!
Brittany S.

I cannot give enough stars!! We had an appointment on Friday (1/22/2021) afternoon and never once felt rushed, pressured, or judged in any way. Jennifer was absolutely amazing and exceeded all my expectations! She was so professional even when I was 90% naked LOL, and was so much fun every step of the way. She helped me pick out the perfect hairpiece for my wedding day, and we even ordered my reception dress! I had so much fun and I can't wait to see her again to pick up my orders!

I had a fabulous time here at I DO Bridal. I had gone to Davids earlier the same day and tried on dresses, dresses, and more dresses. I asked if they had anything in silver and the consultant told me I was crazy. The minute I got to I Do and I started talking with the consultant, I felt very comfortable. She asked me what my budget was and what I was looking for. I said "I got shot down at Davids, but you don't happen to have anything in silver do you?" She said "Oh I think I have something perfect!" Boy was she right! She picked out the PERFECT dress. I am a small person and I did not want poofy, lacey, taffeta-y massiveness that the girl at the other store tried to put me in. The consultant at I DO pulled the perfect platinum silver mermaid style, sweetheart neck, rouched satin dress. My mom and bridesmaids pulled quite a few dresses, and she was great about letting me try them on for their sake, even though they did continue to pull the princess dresses (thanks mom, you just want a laugh). She didn't pull a single poofy dress; everything she pulled was slim. In the end, the platinum dress she pulled was a bridesmaids dress so it was in my price range, and was easily ordered in a size 2. I was WELL within my budget (which is great because I ended up going waaaaaaay over budget with alterations...) and only had to spend one day dress shopping. Perfect! Side note: they don't let you take pictures until you've confirmed that you're going to purchase. So if you have people not at the fittings that are important to have input from, this isn't the place for you.

I don't think I could say enough positive things about my experience at I Do Bridal! The staff is wonderful, the dresses are great quality, and the prices are very reasonable. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone! When I went in, I really had no idea what I wanted - there were a variety of dress styles that I'd seen in magazines and liked, but had no idea what would look best on me. Luckily, Bridget was there to help me negotiate the mass of silk and tulle. She is so skilled in what she does and her ability to connect with brides-to-be is an amazing - she's obviously worked very hard to cultivate both! We talked a bit about how I envisioned my wedding (vintage, romantic, not stuffy and formal but comfortable and friendly) and my budget. Bridget told me to look through the racks and pull a few dresses that stood out, and she did the same. After trying on my picks, and realizing I had no idea what I was doing (can you say cream puff at the prom!?), I tried on Bridget's suggestions. Each one was more beautiful and more figure-flattering than the last. Finally, she said she'd saved the best for last. Before the dress was even all the way on, I was hooked! It was beyond anything I could have imagined. Because I am LDS/Mormon, I needed a modest dress with cap sleeves and a higher-than-typical neck and back. Bridget, having worked with many LDS brides in the past, was extremely knowledgeable and respectful of the standards and values I uphold. She used swatches of fabric and pins, jackets and sashes to show me some of the many options for adding a sleeves. She even went out of her way to contact the designer to see if they offered a "modesty package" on my particular dress. Again, I can't say enough about Bridget. She was a real blessing to me and I know my wedding wouldn't have been the same without her help!

The one that got away!

Of all the bridal shops I had been to, I enjoyed the selection at Anthropologie the most. I got to try a variety of styles (beaded, lace, sparkles, simple, a-line, fitted, ballgown, etc.) and narrow down what I like, but I really did like a majority of the dresses I tried on here as opposed to the recommendations or selections I saw at other bridal shops. All of the dresses I tried here I rated 7-9/10 for my personal rating and they all fell within my budget (less than 2k). 2. I loved that I could see their inventory online and indicate ahead of time in the booking form which dresses I wanted to try. These dresses were already on my rack and prepared for me when I arrived. Other shops I had been to gave me time to peruse and look around at the beginning which was nice but it definitely ate into the appointment time. 3. The appointment was free and was 90 minutes long. Sometimes, I felt an hour was too short at other places but here I was able to try on all my pre-selected gowns, peruse the racks more, and try on an extra 4-5 gowns I either missed on the website or were new so weren't listed on the website yet. 4. I enjoyed my stylist's help so much. Elle was very helpful in getting the dresses on and off, clipping the sample down, taking pictures for me as I did not have anyone else with me at my appointment, and suggesting alteration points to make the dresses as close to what I wanted as possible. She was very professional and kind. 5. The availability of the dresses was also a big plus. It sounds like, as long as your size is in stock, it is as simple as ordering online and you can have it arrive within a couple of weeks. They mentioned some styles may be back ordered by a month or so but it's nice to hear that I won't have to wait the 6-8 month timeline for ordering a custom dress through a designer. The only downside I would say is parking. Because this is in the heart of downtown, parking will be difficult. I had a friend drop me off and pick me up for my appointment. Overall, really loved my experience here and would highly recommend stopping by if you like what you see on their website.

COVID review: I was…read moreable to come here by making an appointment weeks in advanced. I was only allowed to bring one guest with me as the BHLDN area is a small section of the Anthropologie store. I did bring one more guest but they had to stay in the Anthropologie section as a "shopper". It was still very easy for my second guest to be part of the experience as I had to walk across the store to the regular dressing rooms to try on my dress, since there was another bride trying on dresses in the actual bridal area. The person that helped me was Sophie and she was super helpful. This was my first place I went shopping for wedding dresses and she provided ample information on each dress I tried on. Since the workers cannot come into the dressing room with you, I had my mom help put the clips on my dress and Sophie was able to provide verbal directions that were helpful. Masks were worn by everyone the entire bridal appointment, but I felt that I was still able to envision the dress and I did try on a veil. For my second appointment I made here, I was able to re-try on the dress with a veil to figure out if I truly liked the dress. During this appointment, I went by myself and Sophie was still able to help me. When I needed help with clipping my dress and placing a veil on, she had a glass fixture on wheels that was used to create space between us. There is a hole in the glass where Sophie put her hands through with gloves to apply clips on my dress and a veil. Overall, I had a great experience at BHLDN and was able to find THE dress here. Their prices are super affordable for wedding dresses and felt of great quality. When you place an order with them, they waive shipping fees also. I'd recommend coming here for wedding dress shopping.

If you are looking for one of a kind dress that is not mass produced and will fit you like a glove,…read moreLuly Yang is the place to go. Growing up in Seattle, Luly Yang was the first place we went to try on dresses. I was a bit nervous as I usually have a hard time finding dresses that fit perfectly and my mom is super judgmental. Meg and Stephanie greeted us and were so nice and welcoming. We tried on a few dresses and they really set the bar in regards to the fit, material and customer service. We had a few other appointments already set for the week, so I wanted to wait to see those appointments through before deciding and they were so understanding. (We had other studios who really tried to pressure us to purchase day of-even offering discounts). Another plus was there was no fitting fee to try on the dresses - unlike all the other studios we went to. We did end up coming back and getting my dress at Luly Yang. They were amazing through the whole process and they work with you through each step. I loved being able to design my dress and pick out the materials. Luly was also there to help make the dress look perfect and Mei was amazing with alterations. I can't wait to have to another opportunity to work with them in the future!

She truly transformed my experience. My dress went from a beautiful vision to a reality. It was absolutely perfect, everything about it. I learned and felt the love and intention that Luly puts behind each design. My dress became mine and more special when Luly told me what she liked about my dress. She, herself, is so inspiring, a beautiful and authentic, powerful, and strong woman with incredible style. Not only my dress, I loved my veil and each part of my dress- Luly and her team were patient with my particular requests and perfect desires. The shop itself smells amazing! The entire environment from the smell to the beautiful pressed gowns in the windows, the white bridal room, the incredibly sweet team, and the attention to detail would make most people believe that the dresses are out-of-this-world expensive however, I think they are priceless because of how special, intentional and personal the entire experience can be. The last year of relationship with my dress, Fatima, Luly and staff has been 5 stars. If your first experience or interaction is less than I am making it out to be, I recommend giving them another chance, meet Fatima, she will meet all her promises and truly make your experience the best she can. Oh and for kicks, my photographer was Peter Mahar, I posted a couple photos- so you can see this perfect dress that made my wedding dreams come true. Enjoy your experience!

The selection of the dresses is huge and you can view their catalogue online, which was really nice to do in advance. The staff was very friendly. I prefer having the freedom to browse on my own, but the assistance and suggestions were also helpful! She really took the time to listen to my likes and dislikes. Initially, I was SURE I knew what I wanted, after multiple failures and not really liking the way things looked on me, the stylist convinced me to try on basically the opposite of what I *thought* I wanted.... it looked incredible. There's off-white, cream, ivory, blush and so on and so on, but lavender is a runway color that isn't mass produced. You can imagine my disappointment to find out my options were bridesmaid dresses that didn't have the right 'look'. Then, someone on WeddingWire (forum) recommended looking into a custom made. I wasn't ready to break the bank, and any time I hear "custom made", I freak out a little bit inside. Then I reached out to Chrissy who assured me I can have the dress I want AND it would be affordable. Chrissy was flexible, polite, professional and took all of my ideas into consideration and collaborated on a design with me. The dress needed to be able to withstand humidity as it was going to be designed for a destination wedding in Miami, and accommodate to my dancing (which I did plenty of). During our first fitting, we realized fit-flare just wasn't going to cut it and Chrissy asked how I felt about going closer to mermaid or trumpet design. I was hesitant, but knew I would be in good hands. When I tell you my husband damn near fainted when he saw me, and how our guests' jaws dropped, I can confirm it was all worth it. Chrissy designed a dress that was just for me: simple, elegant, lace accents, and lavender. The wedding dress of my dreams.
