I brought my sister to Grace Loves Lace expecting a special and memorable experience, but what we got was the complete opposite. Before the appointment, I spoke with two different people to make sure everything was set, yet when we arrived, our bridal consultant was completely unprepared, disorganized, and honestly, a mess. She seemed far more focused on pushing a sale than actually helping my sister find a dress she loved. From the start, she barely listened to my sister's preferences and kept picking dresses that didn't match her vision. Instead of making her feel special, she made her feel pressured and dismissed. My sister--who should have been having one of the most exciting moments of her life--ended up leaving in tears because she felt unheard and rushed into a decision she wasn't comfortable with. What made it even worse was looking around the boutique and seeing two other brides having wonderful experiences with their consultants. They were smiling, laughing, and clearly being listened to, while my sister was treated like an afterthought. It was confusing and frustrating to watch because it proved that the boutique is capable of delivering the kind of service we expected--but unfortunately, not with the consultant we were given. And let's talk about professionalism--because there was none. Our consultant showed up looking completely disheveled, with dog hair all over her clothes which made it impossible to take her seriously. First impressions matter, and if she had carried herself with even a little more effort and professionalism, this experience might have gone in a completely different direction. At the end of the day, we left without a dress--not because my sister didn't find one she could have loved, but because the consultant made the experience so uncomfortable and impersonal that she didn't even want to say "yes" to anything. I truly hope management takes a hard look at who they have representing their boutique because no bride should be made to feel like this on such an important day.

I was fortunate to find my wedding dress at Christinbridal, and they accommodated all of my needs to make sure my dress is perfect and will arrive on time for my wedding in may 2024. They also made arrangements to set me up with their seamstress who was able to confirm that all alterations I was seeking were possible and they would work together to ensure my dress met my expectations. I specifically want to point out the consultant, Christinna, who helped me find my dress. She was incredibly kind, helpful, and exceeded my expectations with every gown she brought out after I told her only a few details of what I was looking for. 1: Getting my dress made by Madison was a 7 month long nightmare. She quoted me $3k to $3.5k at our…read moreconsultation, then sent a contract over for $4.5k, which after tax meant we were just shy of $5k. She pushed our initial fitting (my first time seeing the dress) until 10 days before the contractual completion date. It was supposed to be in October, but she pushed it to November, and then December, and went weeks without replying to my emails. I finally had my first fitting 1/4 (with a contractual completion date of 1/15). When I showed up for my initial fitting, the dress was a cheap Temu version of what we had agreed on. Specific things that were in our contract (like the shape of the bodice) were disregarded. I had to push back and advocate for myself to get the dress that was in our contract, and Madison returned by trying to charge me more money. 2: Madison didn't finish my dress until 2/17, a month after it was supposed to be done and only a week before my wedding. 3: Because this process had been such a nightmare, and I (like most brides) was in new territory that I'd never had to deal with before, I had shared my experience in the r/weddingplanning subreddit. A dress shop owner who had followed the whole saga sent me a message letting me know that my $5k "couture" "one of a kind" dress was AVAILABLE ON A CHINESE SITE FOR $599. !!!!!!!!!!! You might get the impression from her website or her storefront that everything is made by her or a team of skilled craftspeople here in Ballard. This is not the case. Madison actually uses a Chinese company called Brydealo to manufacture her "custom" "one of a kind" "couture" gowns. After Brydealo manufactures them, they then wholesale them to both dress shops and the general public. All of their dresses sell for under $600, including mine. This made SO much sense. The finishing on my dress was awful - it looks like a dog chewed it off a bolt of fabric. It's made entirely with cheap, dollar store Halloween costume polyester. The thread used to sew the dress was not the same color as the dress itself (white thread on a magenta dress) making for unsightly seams. The delay in Madison "making" my dress was clearly the result of using an overseas manufacturer. When I texted Madison to ask why my "couture" "one of a kind" gown was for sale on a Chinese site for about a tenth of what she tried to charge me, she replied by saying she didn't like the tone of my text and she was choosing to end correspondence with me. No attempt to take responsibility for her actions. No explanations. No "oh yeah, sometimes it makes more sense to work with sewists over seas". Nothing. Listen: the vast majority of gowns are manufactured overseas. There is nothing inherently "wrong" with that. But what Madison is doing is deceptive and she is taking advantage of brides who don't know how this process should work. Avoid at all costs.

Madison got it fitted perfectly to my body, made sure it would stay up with subtle corset boning, hung the lace from the sleeves as beautiful off-the-shoulder pieces, and gave my a stunning 3-point bustle. Instead, she chose to make a point by telling me that they are boycotting Israeli brands. When I replied, "Well, I don't need to shop here then," she smirked and said, "Probably not." That wasn't professionalism -- it was hostility. She knew exactly why I was asking, and rather than respond respectfully, she went out of her way to inject her political bias and make me feel unwelcome. I fully understand that people have different viewpoints about this difficult time and the conflict in the Middle East -- but there is absolutely no excuse for taking it out on customers or for treating anyone this way. What I experienced today was unacceptable, offensive, and frankly disgusting. Let's call it what it is -- antisemitism. Singling out Israeli designers and speaking to a Jewish customer with such contempt is discrimination, plain and simple. There is no place for that kind of behavior in any business, especially one meant to celebrate love and joy. I left feeling hurt, angry, and deeply disheartened. Idina Bridal should be ashamed of how their staff behaves. If you believe in kindness, respect, and standing up against antisemitism, do not support this store. Seattle has many wonderful bridal boutiques that know how to treat people with decency -- Idina Bridal is not one of them.

The associate (Selena) was very helpful and was mainly in charge of my appointment, but the other woman working with her (I think it was owner, Nadine) was very pushy and kept interjecting into our appointment. Should be noted that this review is solely based on how Nadine treated me, not Selena. A few things Nadine did really made my experience a very negative one: 1. Although my appointment was in March and I did NOT want a custom gown, Nadine immediately told me my wedding in December timeline was "tight" and "probably not possible" before I even tried my first dress on. It should be noted that when you make an appointment, you fill out when your wedding is. If my timeline did not suit the business' timeline, then I would have appreciated a call witht he concern prior to the appointment. I believe this was really an attempt at creating a false sense of urgency. 2. Nadine kept popping in and out of my dressing room even though she was helping another bride during the same time, suggesting dresses I had absolutely no interest in trying on. She kept pushing a style that I corrected her multiple times saying I did not like. She continuously pushed the style of dress (poofy ball gown - she was insisiting every for fitting dress I tried on should have an ugly tool overlay over it) and veil (a cheap pearl veil that looked like it was from the dollar store). Poor Selena would put me in a style I liked only to have me stand on the floor and have her come over immediately with these items after I repeatively said no. 3. There was one dress that Selena was having issues zipping and I think Nadine hear us chatting about it, burst into the dressing room (while I was half dressed) and said "that dress will NEVER fit her. You'll need at least two sizes bigger and we definitely dont have that". Extremely rude and beyond inappropriate. The last few points are not completely related to Nadine, but I recieved multiple calls the day of saying that they would not have the proper staffing and wanted to move my appointment, even tho I made my appointment 3 weeks in advance. I was open to being flexible at the time and they did eventually end up accomodating my original appointment, but since I have now shopped around I realize this is a completely unprofessional request. The store in UVillage is also dated and not very well kept, although they do have beautiful dresses. It was also a little unnerving showing up to my appointment early only to have to wait because there was a group of teenagers prom appointment running over. While Selena was very nice and we definitely vibed, Nadia made me so uncomfortable that I cancelled my follow up appointment and was afriad to go back. I ultimately decided I do not want to give this store any of my business based on how I was treated. I was not going to leave any reviews because I did really appreciate Selena, but I got an email this morning asking me to write a review (addressed to "Hi %NAME%," - how personal!) so here we are! TLDR: I'm sure they have some beatiful dresses, but unless you have the exact same taste as the owner and are a body size she deems respectable, just go somewhere else. $35 is not worth you mental health and friday afternoon.

I didn't purchase my dress at Drea K, but I went to her for alterations because I wanted someone who could go above and beyond basic alterations. As you can see, there was a lot that needed to be done for the dress to be more flattering. Dora and Andrea have some of the best customer service I have ever received! They were extremely accommodating with my insane schedule. They were honest and upfront about the total cost of alterations. This place is NOT cheap, but it IS worth it. This is not an alterations studio, she is a designer and dressmaker and has an amazing eye for how things should fit the female body. This is exactly what I was looking for. Drea K provided me with the confidence and beauty that every bride deserves on their wedding day! I felt amazing and beautiful on my wedding day. My husband was shocked at how fancy my dress was! Andrea and Dora are so amazing. I can't wait to take my dress back to Andrea so we can turn it into a fun cocktail dress for many years to come!

The shop is VERY cute, very professional, and has tons of dresses to choose from. I did not buy my dress from here, so this is related to only alterations. The gal that helped me was very kind and knowledgeable. It was a great experience, but the pricing was out of this world. I've gotten 2 other quotes for my gown at $350-$400, and they quoted me $1150 which is well over what I even paid for the dress. I'm not suggesting that they don't know what they are doing or are not skilled or that their time is not worth payment, simply that I think it is way overpriced in comparison to other alterations places. They definitely know what they are doing and am 100% confident my dress would be perfect if I chose them, just be prepared for sticker shock if you go here first.

The dress I chose was not listed in their lookbook - it was actually one that Rebecca pulled for me to try based on my vision and preferences. I quite literally could not have found my dress without her! It completely embodies my style and I can't wait to wear it on my wedding day. I sent detailed images of my dress and was quoted $800. A couple of months later, at the end of my first appointment, the tailor handed me a bill for over $1600. After I checked with her, she took a couple hundred off for the bustle but basically said sometimes prices of materials and services change. I was completely shocked. This drastic price change should be communicated to customers. I was lucky that I could scrape together an unplanned expense and pay more than my dress for alterations... But I am a teacher and this was a pretty big blow financially. I should have taken my dress back then and gone somewhere else, but I figured that I wouldn't have time and told myself it was worth it. It wasn't. The seamstress was not friendly, and didn't take questions well. When she finished the bustle it was a line of hooks (like small bra hooks) along the back of my dress and was an eyesore. I took it back and she fixed the bustle, but this left holes along the seam where the hooks were. My fitted dress had buttons down the back, and after tailoring a button under my butt didnt lay right and caused a weird fold if I leaned back at all. When I brought this up, she snapped "you won't be bending over backwards at your wedding!" And didn't address it further. Well, I just got my photos back and that weird fold is apparent in many of my photos. That spot makes it look ill fitted and sloppy. (And yes you WILL be bending back at your wedding when dancing, dipping, kissing, and laughing!) Also, when I took my dress in to get the bustle fixed, her assistant told me an incredibly disturbing annecdote about wanting to euthanize his cat by putting it in the freezer... Not what you want to hear when you're in wedding mode (or ever!!!) All in all, this was one of the most stressful and disappointing parts of planning my wedding. I shed many tears. The whole process made me dislike my dress from all of the stress associated with it. I would not recommend this place.

I bought a sample dress almost exactly a month before the wedding date. Despite our hurry the team were courteous, professional, and very body-positive! I felt incredible after they had customized my too-tight fitting, intricately beaded mermaid-style dress. After not being emotional or particularly attached to any of the dresses I had quickly tried, I fell in love with; the Kitty Chen "Andrea" that did not quite zip when I purchased it. They did an incredible job adding that inch, created the many-point bustle needed and showed us how to do "bustling" in a video my maid-of-honor filmed. Thank you SO so much for working with me and making our wedding day so special! Everyone was BLOWN AWAY by my ceremony/ dinner dress, both by the fit and how elegant it was. I wish I could have worn it all night, but it is a masterpiece that I would have deeply regretted damaging. So they somehow, very graciously on our tight timeline, also fit in alterations for a second "dancing" gown that I partied down in and even got to wear back to the hotel instead of changing yet again!! My second dress was gorgeous as well, worked wonderfully for dancing, and was absolutely comfortable; this one they had to take-in, shorten and reconstruct the corset at the base where it had ripped with the prior owner. I highly recommend you call Victoria's Bridal and see if they are a good fit for you!
