What I loved most was that a) an actual person who was very nice, picked up the phone, and b) they called me with updates because it was going to be later than the window of time they first gave to me. Keith arrived and was so nice and professional, and was very knowledgeable. He showed us what was wrong with our 50 year old boiler and explained that our best option would be to replace it rather than investing a ton of money to repair our very old boiler. He texted me the next morning, like he said he would, to let me know what time he would arrive to install the new boiler. His helper Patrick, was also super nice and informative. I received several updates and they were, thankfully able to get to us even though it was the weekend. I feel confident in the work they did. The fact that they call and arrive when they say they will, and with a smile and professionalism is why I give them a 5 star rating. Keith and Patrick honestly made a pretty bad situation bearable because they were so lovely to deal with. Keep up the great work guys! Diane Davis

**Yelp Review for UV Electric**…read more I recently hired UV Electric to install two new chandeliers in my vaulted ceilings, and my experience with them was a mixed bag. On one hand, their responsiveness and flexibility regarding scheduling were commendable. I needed a bit of wiggle room with installation dates, and they were more than willing to accommodate my requests, which I truly appreciated. On the installation date, the team started off by securely attaching the chandelier base to the existing chain and hardware. This is where things became a bit muddled. I had initially requested to change out the chain and hardware cap on the ceiling to complement the new fixtures, but somehow there was a miscommunication along the way. They ended up only installing the cap, while the existing chain remained in place. Aesthetically, I thought it looked fine, so I didn't push for them to change the chain at that time. After they completed the installation and left, I took it upon myself to add crystals to the chandelier, which of course added extra weight to the fixture. Just as I was about to finish hanging all the crystals, the chandelier unexpectedly pulled out from the ceiling, swinging precariously by the electrical cords. Thankfully, nothing fell, but it was a very stressful and unsettling experience. I reached out to UV Electric, and they quickly came back that evening. With their help, we managed to secure the chandelier back into the ceiling. It turned out that the installation team had not used the new hardware provided with the chandelier, opting instead for the old existing hardware, which couldn't support the added weight from the new fixture and crystals. While I appreciate that they were responsive and addressed the issue relatively promptly, I can't help but feel that some shortcuts were taken during the initial installation. Those choices ultimately led to a potentially catastrophic situation with the chandelier nearly falling. I believe UV Electric has the potential to deliver great service; however, I'd recommend being very clear about installation preferences and ensuring that all hardware used is appropriate for the new fixtures. With that said, could have been better in quality assurance and attention to detail, but overall, I might consider them again for future electrical work, with a bit more oversight on my part.

I would not recommend Gordon or work with him again. As a landlord and property investor with more…read morethan 20 years of experience, I've worked with many contractors, and this was one of the worst experiences I've had. Throughout the project, Gordon was difficult to work with. He frequently failed to show up as scheduled, communication was often confrontational, and routine discussions too often turned into arguments. The quality of the work was also a significant concern. I later discovered that some of the electrical work had not been completed correctly, including wiring that was not properly routed through a junction box before connecting to the main electrical system. Even basic items, such as failing to label electrical circuits, were identified by the city inspector during the inspection. Before the project was complete, I had to replace Gordon with another contractor at my own expense. The project ultimately ended with Gordon leaving before completing the work, despite having already been paid for a portion of it. I was left to hire another contractor to finish the job and absorb the additional cost. Based on my experience, I would not hire Gordon again or recommend his services.

After speaking to five or so electricians, we decided to go with Jose for some help running some…read morewiring at home, and fixing a broken outlet. I'm relatively handy but there are some things that are better left to a professional - namely making holes in my walls/ceiling and messing with high voltage electrical! Jose was prompt, communicative and was able to fit us in for a full day's worth of work with a week's notice. His rates are reasonable and he was very matter of fact about items that should be trivial to do myself. This was refreshing compared to other electricians we spoke to, who were very quote happy! (For example, he mentioned that we could update some halogen recessed lights to LED simply by simply replacing the lightbulbs at $5 a light - other electricians blindly suggested replacing all the lights instead at about $150 a light!) Initially when I asked for his help running a motion sensor to a driveway, which is controlled by our somewhat unusual (but popular in the 80s...) low voltage lighting system, he was one of few electricians who actually took the time to understand the constraints of the system and accurately scope out the work required. I had him help run wiring and install some ceiling and outdoor speakers in our kitchen and deck and the work looks great. He also suggested placement of additional power sockets that will help tidy up wiring when we wall mount a television and install an A/V receiver. Additionally, he was able to fix two broken power sockets with minimal intrusion, which my wife is very happy about! Looking forward to having Jose back again for more electrical projects that are next on my list!
