Started off a bit questionable with no one acknowledging us at the door but well worth the wait!! They sat us in a party room that would be perfect for a bridal breakfast or birthday brunch. The decor in the whole restaurant is really cute and modern. Our server was every attentive and nice. Irish coffee and espresso martini were fantastic. We had the biscuits and gravy and the Cajun omelette. Very fresh and delicious. They may just be short staffed is all I can think would be the reason for the initial wait. Service was slow and every employee acted as if it was the worst thing on earth to be there. As well as one of the waitresses butt was hanging out of her skirt. My eggs Benedict was horrible - soggy english muffin, very under cooked eggs and hardly any sauce. We had never tried this place before. It's close to home and we're looking for a good breakfast spot. WOW, very dissatisfied. It is decorated so cute in there, but they are missing light fixtures and light bulbs are burnt out. It's dirty and disorganized. By far, one of my favorite chains in the south. I fell in love with the Brick & Spoon when I first popped into their location in LaFayette, Louisiana and I love seeing them spring up in other cities as I travel. This one definitely does the original justice. Service was slow especially since it wasn't crowded. However their mango mimosa-Rita was absolutely incredible. I typically get the Florentine Benedict but decided to switch it up for the crab cake and grits with fried green tomatoes. Let's just say this didn't disappoint. Service was very S L O W, and only saw our server to order and pay, with zero checks on us for drink refills, etc. The food was unremarkable with cold fries served with my and my wife's sandwiches. Went in for a quick breakfast while passing through Mobile and it was very good. If I lived close I think I would make this a regular breakfast stop for myself. My server was very nice and she was attentive. There was plenty of food that I was able to bring half of it back to my daughter, who didn't feel like getting out of bed to join me at the restaurant. I am a complete nerd for brunch! We checked in & received free beignets, thanks to Yelp! The decor is fun, bright, & aesthetically pleasing, but the noise level inside makes it hard to converse with the people around you. It wasn't a packed house, so the noise level surprised us. The service was excellent, but the food was just okay. My mother ordered the omelet, my cousin ordered a breakfast sandwich, & I went for my favorite fried green tomatoes & crab cakes. The batter on the fried green tomatoes was too thick & the crab cakes tasted extra fishy for some reason. My issue was (and this is frustrating when it happens) when I ordered my entree, I came to the table looking like a not so hearty appetizer. This was the classic pay entree prices for not a lot of food. I was with three others and this was their opinion as well. I won't return. The shrimp was seasoned and everything fit together. The Brioche French toast tasted like regular bread to me. It wasn't bad however nothing special about it. This is a nice location! Clean and new! Ample parking spaces ! Located next to a sushi ramen joint! Wait wasn't long...wasn't super busy inside. I had high hopes for this place! Mobile does not have a lot of brunch places. I was super super disappointed. Our server was not personable. She kept cutting us off when we asked questions..."ok" was really all she said. She seemed rush all the time! Food was disappointing. My crab cake dinner was full of fillers and the sauce was soo salty...i'm glad i had it placed on the side. My hubby ordered the crab cake benny with biscuit instead of english muffin...but received it on english muffin. Instead of fixing it...she offered to bring a biscuit on the side. We took her offer but finished our meal before she even brought the biscuit back. My smoked gouda mac and cheese tasted like it came from a premix packaged. it was not good. The order of side fries were sooo cold and limpy. It was like left overs handed to us. The only good food item we enjoyed was the Breakfast taco. Cool concept and delish. Crunchy and fresh tasting. My friend did enjoy his home-made bloody mary! Great idea to be able to create your own. Our bill was over $50 but it was just meh. I'll try to give this place another try on another day. read more

I will keep it brief. Service was the worst. This is the only Brick and Spoon location I've been too that served Mimosas out of a plastic champagne glass. The first set we received had still had lipstick on the rim, we had to ask for another set. The wait after ordering was about 50 mins and the restaurant was barely half full. When our food was finally delivered to the table, it was barely warm. Clearly sat in the kitchen for some time before they brought it out. Came in today for breakfast with the wife and kids. Even though they do not have a kids menu online, they do have one. It's very limited - pancakes, grilled cheese, Mac and cheese. I enjoyed making my own Bloody Mary, as usual. My kids thought it was funny that I had food in my drink. I got the Shrimp Creole Omelette and it was good. Very heavy, and very filling. I couldn't finish it but the flavor was good. The kids were happy with the food and they're hard to please when it comes to new places and things, so we call it a win. read more

The Yelp reviews made me excited to try the Brick & Spoon. Fortunately, I love sitting at the bar as that was my fast pass through the snaking line! #WINNING I had mixed feelings, but the good outweighed the "meh." I loved the bar area and the plentiful brunchy drink options. My two-egg breakfast was the bomb. Hubby's Tasso Mac & cheese, not so much. My coffee was delish, but the cinnamon beignet bites where -- meh. We should have gone with the original style. The service and decor totally tipped the scales for me. The staff is so detail oriented, even with the masses piling in, that you'd think you were the only patron dining. That's pretty impressive. The restaurant itself is also very cute. Went for brunch today and even though they were trying...there was a lot left to be desired, including the poor quality & chewyness of the chicken on both the cobb salad and a chicken club a friend got. My special of Fried Green Tomatoes & Crab Cakes on smoked gouda cheese grits was DELICIOUS! The hostess was super nice and so was our server but the lady at the bar (bloody mary for the 40 min wait) did not seem to be having a jovial day. Also, there was another incident of a kitchen staff busting up in the bathroom talking VERY explicitly about the deuce he was about to drop, incuding F-bombs and other explicatives. Saw me washing my hands and said oh we have a customer in here and started laughing and kept talking about how he was going to be in there till closing time. . Was never offered any refills on our drinks. Should have gone to Waffle House, would have received better service and food. I think IHOP is better than this. 2 weeks straight, I've had to go orders from her, only to get home to poorly packed foods where butter melted all over the inside of the bags. Today, my wife and daughters went there to have breakfast with their friend and experienced a very rude and unprofessional server. My daughter asked the server if she could packed the butter separate and was given a nasty attitude because of the request. Furthermore, the food is awful! Shrimp and grits tasted bland and pancakes were more like soft bread. This explains why this place is empty during business hours typically breakfast places are busy. Time was 12:00 AM. Went here today from a recommendation for breakfast. Well when we got there and asked to be seated they said 30 minutes and she asked for my phone number. I gave it to her and she said it would not take and she asked for it several times with no luck. Well we were seated right next to the counter and she said no problem that she would get us when ready because we were only a few feet. Well they had plenty of open tables they could have seated people but I went along with it and waited my turn watching. A part of me thought the workers were just trying to wait the customers out because I see they close at 2:00 pm. Watching the people at the tables I also noticed food was not coming out and no one was leaving either. Now I plenty of time because 25 minutes has past and they were seating some people who was before us but and here it goes,,,,,,, They blew right past us and before I knew it they had seated three table of people that came in well after us. Well what to do from here seeing I was very hungry? The first thing was take a picture of the young girl that forgot me and post her. No, I won't let my anger get the best of my and hurt this girl but let everyone and the owner know that he is not getting the most for his money and these worker are costing him a 20 to 30 percent loss. That amount could drive him broke. Your wondering what I did,,,,,,,,, told the young girl that she passed us over walked out and vowed to never go to this up and coming chain. Also if I am standing around and hear their name mentioned I will be sure to spread a kind word. A business needs to remember the customer is what pays the bills.
