Stopped in for lunch today, for the first time. I was immediately greeted, and found a seat. My waitress was very helpful and answered my questions about the beer and food selections. Great cold draft beer, which I expect and my hamburger and fries were amazing. Ordered the mushroom swiss burger, cooked exactly as I requested. The rosemary fries were outstanding. The settings is comfortable, they do allow families during the day. Couple of pool tables and lots of TVs. Even a few kid toys! After a Google search we found out this was a Lions bar so made our way here for the Sunday night game. Service was great which is so hard to come by anymore. The owners were very friendly and engaged with every customer in the bar. The wings were fantastic and I loved the southwestern egg rolls. The Lions game day specials are a steal too! In true tourist fashion, I had to hit this place up while in Phoenix because I saw it on Bar Rescue. It did not disappoint! There was a football game on so of course it was busy with cheering football fans (to be expected at a sports bar). Not a football fan, but it had lots of TVs with clear picture and good sound. Pool tables and shuffleboard. It was pretty clean from what I could tell. We sat at a table cuz we had a minor with us. Our server said she was new and hadn't tried any of the cocktails on the menu, but the ones we ordered were good (not too sweet, not too overpowering.) And the burgers and fries were stellar! Very impressed!! I got the bacon burger with rosemary fries. Friend got cheeseburger with regular fries, aunt got mushroom Swiss with garlic fries and lil cousin got a cheeseburger. I will say my burger for some reason was the only one that came with a knife? I'd go back. Happy to see the business is still thriving. We'd been wanting to stop into Brick & Barley Neighborhood Bar for quite a while. Having already tried some other establishments in same shopping center on Baseline Road. We stopped in for an after-movie bite and check them out. I started our meal with an ice-cold draft Haus Amber Ale and looking through a very extensive, varied and tempting menu decided on us both getting the Mushroom & Swiss Burgers (she medium, me medium rare) and an order of sweet potato fries and their onion rings. The fully loaded burgers were perfectly cooked and juicy, but lacked seasoning, the onion rings were crispy with the right amount of breading, but tasteless seasoning and the onions were bland, the sweet potato fries were OK. Our afternoon meal was OK overall for what would be expected. Then after having later found that the former 'Baseline Sports Bar' had been part of a TV 'Bar Rescue' in July 2016 and now under new ownership, something appears to not seem to have turned out for the better from that happening. The huge number of TVs, clean and nicely appointed pool tables, game machines, great looking bar, generous menu, and excellent beer offerings was enormously arrested by our surrounding atmosphere where we were subjected to the most brazenly vulgar, imprudent, and forthright customer service (not all staff) I have experienced in any eating establishment! And some customers in my vicinity weren't much better! Caveat emptor - this is definitively a neighborhood bar, but not a family bar. If you are looking for a rowdy, adult bar scene with decent food and entertainment, this is it. Bon appétit! read more

Tried this spot on a recommendation. The food was excellent. I've had my share of bar food in my life and this was good bar food. They have a tasty menu and a large wings flavor menu. I had the Whitney wings - delish and chipotle chicken salad-super good. My husband got the jalapeño popper burger with onion rings. The onion rings were perfect. Crisp and the onion didn't pull out the first bite!! Highly recommend. If you are lucky you will have Madison as your bartender; she was very good. read more

Came here for what we thought would be better wings than Doc & Eddys. Will go to Doc & Eddys next time. Should have known the service was going to be bad from the start when we asked our waitress what dark beers she had and she could not name a single one. It's not entirely her fault. You need better training. I understand it is a neighborhood bar, not a 5 star Vegas strip restaurant, but knowing a few dark beers that you carry is not asking for too much from your server. Secondly, our wings were dry, although the Garlic Parmesan (what we ordered) is listed in the section of your saucy wings. My husband even spoke up as we were ordering that we wanted saucy wings. Again, not training your staff. Menu needs an update. It is misleading saying that the Garlic Parmasan are gluten free, but still listed in the saucy section. Third, and final, the queso was literally liquid milk. I dripped all over the table any time I went to scoop it with a chip. Queso is supposed to stay on your tortilla chip and go into your mouth. I'm sad we wasted $60 on some drinks and misleading/ mediocre food. I bought Tostitos queso this week from the supermarket and it was much better than yours. The grilled wings here are phenomenal. Whitney's sauce is some of the most flavorful sauce I have ever had on wings and the food is always hot and fresh. We just ordered bar fare...their adult happy meal (chicken fingers). And our server recommended the poppers.. I ordered an old fashioned and the server asked what Bourbon...I said Makers Mark or whatever else you've got is just fine. We enjoyed the atmosphere...music was fun...the whole vibe was cool. The owner or manager came and shook our hands and welcomed us..we shared that it was our first time. Snacks were legit! We enjoyed them. The old fashioned was watered down for sure... I mean like literally water was added.. no bitters or orange was used (I did not expect anything fancy but this was below standard. Then we got the bill (shown below) I called server over and mentioned that I was charged for 4 drinks when I only had two... he said that they charge Makers Mark as doubles...I said that I had never heard of that before..he said sorry, that he should have said something.... This joint is right by my work. Having ordered from here online and having it be fabulous I recommended my family stop by one weekend to eat here. When we entered, it was really lowkey for being a bar in Tempe on a Saturday. They have games like darts, shuffleboard, and pool. We sat ourselves and got drinks started immediately. Our waitress/bartender Trina Jo was excellent and she made us feel so comfortable and at home! The drinks were poured strong too! The menu is not vast but the options are high quality for being a bar. They have some healthy choices such as Keto friendly options. I went with the blackened chicken Caesar salad it was splendid. The chicken was cooked really well and had a lot of flavor but was still tender and juicy. The salad has just the right amount of dressing. My mom got a quesadilla which was tasty as well. If the food didn't wow us enough, The chef was kind enough to sit down with us at our table and we all kind of got to know each other. It was seriously so fun and such good energy all around. I came here a few days ago with my husband and daughter. 4 people sitting at the bar. We sat at one of the picnic tables they have inside. Took us about 30 min to get the bartender to come take our order as she was just chatting away with the 4 men. My husband even went up to the bar several times to ask for help and to place an order, she kept saying "I'll get to you in a min" We decided to play some pool while we waited. Some of the locals came up as we were in the middle of our pool game and just decided to take over our game, drunk and rude. The bartender just watched and said to go with it! I am in Tempe frequently and my daughter and I like to go here for lunch. I believe that in the evening it is more of a bar scene but they serve a nice quiet lunch. The restaurant was featured on Bar Rescue at one time and one of the recommended changes was the chicken wings, or so I am told. They are really delicious. They are baked, fried, then roasted, not necessarily in that order and come out very nicely cooked. There are several flavors and there is a style where you can mix the flavors together. Very good. We have had burgers there which we enjoyed as well as salads. There is a nice selection of beer on tap. We tried their pretzels filled with artichoke dip and found them to be very heavy and filling for an appetizer. We have always had good service and will be back again. read more
