What a freakin great place. Crab Cake Dinner all the way! Holy crap they are good and they come with the most amazing mashed taters yer lips ever got intimate with. I would order one more but I'm bustin at the seams from eating their bread pudding and strawberry short cake cheese cake. The pudding is by far the best of the two as it is made in house. Definitely a great little place away from the more touristy areas. Great food and a very fun atmosphere. The live band is great and the dance floor, while not big, is always full. It's more of a local hangout with the regulars, but it's a must visit for anyone who's never been. The Bric a Brac Chicken is great, and the Smoked Tuna Dip is a perfect appetizer. read more

We stumbled upon this place while looking for a place without at 2 hour wait for dinner. Their sign said "best crab cakes in town" so I ordered crab cakes. They were legit the best crab cakes I've ever had! They had a scavenger hunt on the back of the kids menu which was fun for all of us! We also ordered Ceviche which was kind of just shrimp and pico (a little disappointing, but still good). The staff was friendly and attentive and the live music was really good, she sang and her dad played the drum for her. read more

I want to let the public know that 3 couples went into Bric a Brac for dinner and dancing like we do almost every Friday night. We had a Groupon and the other two couples had two different Certificates. We called to make a reservation and when we told them we had Groupons they said they would call us back which they never did. When we arrived they were rude to us and said we could only use one Groupon. We said that is not what Groupon says and they said we changed our rules and also they were going to stop accepting Groupon certificates. We said sit us at different tables and they said no. They said we could sit in the very back of the restaurant even though most of the tables were open. They walked away and ignored us. We walked out. We are locals that live here half of the year. The band is 5 Star, the Owners 1 Star, and the food is 3 Star. We won't be spending our Friday nights there again. read more

Food is phenomenal! We ate the manicotti, and crab cakes (best anywhere), and blackened fish. Only problem is we sat outside, and our clothes got stained from old food on the benches. Pretty frustrating...ruined the rest of the evening (not to mention, our clothes). Manager said we ate the food, so sorry about the stains. I had to explain to her why this is not okay. She finally said "fine" and took the check from me, but I was really disappointed by the poor leadership and ownership of the filthy seating. read more

The absolute best crab cakes I've ever had! They say 98% crab meat, and boy, does it make a difference! So delicious! The staff was super friendly and more than happy to go out of their way to help each other so that we always had someone checking on us! We were lucky enough to catch some live music, which was a blast! The decor and atmosphere here are exactly what I was looking for on vacation! What a strange experience. I tried for awhile afterwards to wrap my head around the glowing reviews - but I guess we all have different standards. This place really wants to be both a quirky beach bar and a fancy meal place - but they're really neither. The atmosphere is kind of like a hillbilly TGIFriday's combined with a beach bar...ehh, it's OK, although the Chik-Fil-A sign is kinda weird. Service was pretty smug though...kind of condescending in ways, like you should know exactly how the place works and how dare you ask questions. The male staff with their sideways hats, Affliction t-shirts, and boxers hanging out might work at a beach bar - but not at a place you expect adults to drop $30+ per person in food and drinks. The menu thing is absolutely corny and absurd to me...it's basically a full-size skim board with about 8 items written on it that are hard to read because of the glaring spotlights. And it's in the way for staff and customers to get to other tables, as it has to be propped on a chair in the walkway. Huh? We had to ask our server to even see the menu, since no one was providing any indication to us that they were going to let us know what they serve there. It all just seems a little 'scammy', too, as apparently there's another regular menu they don't want you to see that has burgers, bar appetizers, and other lower-priced items. We had the Jambalaya pasta, Grilled Mahi, and Crab Cakes and all were $19 - $22 entrees (and all were worth about maybe half of that). The Jambalaya pasta: 3 frozen overcooked shrimp, a sliced sausage link, and some mushy green peppers. The Mahi was OK - but nothing special. Crab cakes - average. Bland, bland, bland. Salads were a joke (just lettuce!!). The margaritas were OK, I guess ($10). For $120, something should be good, but unfortunately...no. The sound system is pretty rough (music twice as loud as mics) and they let a customer sing reeeeally poorly. Just ugh. Fresh crab cakes, a pasta dish, and grilled mahi in under 5 minutes? And served at room temperature? Yeah, we know what's up. If you just want to grab some beers and sit at the bar, you might enjoy yourself - but that is about all that I can recommend. (Unless you try the secret non-tourist menu they use for people they actually want to come back?) read more

We really wanted to love this this place. We've been to Red Bar several times and were excited to have an alternative a little closer to our condo. My husband and I decided to check it out Thursday night since that is one of the nights they have live music. The atmosphere makes a very positive first impression with all of the funky decor. The bar was full and a few people were seated in old lounge chairs in front of the stage. The crowd was noticeably younger than other places we'd visited during the week. We were quickly escorted to our table which had a great view of the stage. We had plenty of time to check out the drink menu - so much so that we decided there must have been a mix up between the hostess and wait staff. One waiter noticed that we were sitting at an empty table with no water, much less drinks, and asked if we'd been helped. So we placed our drink order and assumed the confusion had been cleared up. The same waiter came back with our drinks and the surfboard menu which we loved. He explained the dishes and made some recommendations (we always appreciate that), then told us someone else would be taking care of us. Waiter 2 came along and told us about the appetizers, which we weren't aware of, then left promising to come back shortly to take our order. But waiter 1 beat him to it (I suspect he needed his surfboard back). My husband ordered the ceviche to start and the chicken. I ordered the stuffed bell peppers. I won't bore you with all the volleying back and forth that ensued, but suffice to say it caused confusion in the kitchen. We received our salads promptly, quickly dumped on our table by waiter 1 on his way to another table. When waiter 2 came by to check on us, my husband inquired about the ceviche. It was served immediately, along with our entrees -- leading us to believe it had all been sitting in the pass for some time. Service issues aside, I thought the bell peppers were fantastic. In addition to the traditional beef and rice stuffing, the Bric a Brac version includes corn. My husband's chicken dish included two breast cutlets that he enjoyed very much. The only issue we had with the food was that it was served basically at room temperature. In fact, the mashed potatoes seemed downright cold. I'm certain this goes back to our dueling waiters and is not the standard for this restaurant. Bottom line is that we believe (and hope) that this was just an off night. We will give it another shot and are optimistic that we can provide a more positive review in line with the others you see here on Yelp. read more

Not your typical most popular restaurant in destin but I'll tell you right now it was great. Kid friendly and food was really good. Smoked Tuna appetizer is best we had all trip. Turns into a nightclub after 10pm so you might wanna get there earlier. We had a party of 20 and had maybe a 15min wait time. Definitely try it. read more

As a Louis Louis regular, I was positively biased when we dined at Bric A Brac this evening, anticipating LL cuisine & experience. Suffice it to say that I will happily continue my 25 minute treks to Santa Rosa for Louis Louis. If you've not been to Louis Louis, you'll likely be ok with Bric a Brac; ok but not wowed (unless you're looking for thumping disco music & passable food). I'm one mile away but I'll be hitting Mimmos if I want to stay close & Louis Louis when I'm in the mood for superb crab cakes, excellent pasta w/crawfish & shrimp, exceptional grouper & an overall fun evening. Bric a Brac does take non Amex credit cards so I suppose some will see that as a plus vs Louis Louis or Red Bar. read more

A hidden gem. A block off the main drag. Food was fantastic. The smoked tuna dip appetizer was really good. We were a party of 31 that showed up unannounced. The owners (twin brothers) made us feel right at home. Our server, Boston took great care of us. We had a good cross section of the menu. No complaints from anyone - age 2 to 85.
