After adding the protein, it was a little pricy, but I was really impressed with how it turned out! Although there was a long wait for the salad, the waiter was keen in giving updates and asked if there was anything he could do for us. He also didn't judge me for ordering a salad over some traditional eggs for breakfast! Once I got the salad, I ran a full inspection. The leaves were very fresh, chicken was cooked well, and there were anchovies! True Caesar! Service sucked. Staff did not do well with remembering things or working efficiently to help guest get in and out and to ensure staff wasn't wasting time. I ate breakfast here and I wish I didn't. The food was okay but the staff!!!! The table beside me asked someone who was cleaning tables to get the waitress. She cleaned and set 2 tables before notifying staff. Most staff weren't rude they were just oblivious. I say most because the greeter started my brunch on the wrong foot as she had to see if there was room for me after I explained I had a reservation. She also greeted guest who came behind me before getting to me. They she fully got them settled before telling me she will need to see if a table is ready. There are no breakfast items on the kids menu for brunch. The waiter provided an explanation/solution so confusing she lost 4 adults across 2 tables. I needed a coffee refill and tried to waive down 2 waitress unsuccessfully while mines served others coffee. My table needed a straw. We waited 10 mins as the waitress served others, forgot, bought us food, was reminded, served others again and eventually came over with a straw. It took 20 minutes to cash out. We needed to go items and it took forever to get the check, containers and a bag. Anyhow there is a small cafe connected to restaurant but it has its own billing and serving area. Just go there. The hotel also doesn't have a fridge. They have a cooler so don't bother with leftovers as they will spoil. read more

Came here for breakfast while staying at Hotel Effie for Memorial Day weekend. From the beginning we had issues. It started when the hostess ignored us for a woman who approached the host area after us. The host greeted the white woman with a smile and a hug and sat her immediately. She then came back for me and my friend (we're Black) and told us she'd see if they had a table available for us. Mind you, we had a reservation and the restaurant was slow to empty. Ultimately we were seated in Nicole's section. Nicole was friendly enough but extremely forgetful. We had to ask her multiple times for certain items and she wasn't attentive to our table, or any of her tables for that matter. The food was just okay. Not sure why this place doesn't have higher stars. Ate dinner and breakfast here. Dinner was delish! The gumbo wasn't Louisiana, but it was still good. Loved the kale salad. We requested the pecan pie to be warmed, which i highly recommend along with scoops of ice cream. It made it delectable. Very good food, but you certainly pay for it. We split plates to try more of the menu and it still came out to about $120 a person. This review is to note that we had an issue that we weren't aware of until we got home and all talked about how it was a bit more expensive than we expected. After reviewing the receipt, we noticed that we were overcharged in a few places. Our old fashioned cocktails had an up charge for all four despite only one person asking for Woodford (+$3 x 4) -- fine; a miscommunication. I have no issues there. But the price on the cocktail menu was $16 for old fashioneds and each was charged $20 (+$4 x 4). My MIL even got a $14 glass of wine and was charged $16. They either need to update their menus or be more careful ringing up drinks. read more

From the jazzy ambiance to the splendid food, this restaurant is a must visit if you are in the Miramar Beach area. My mom and I recently had dinner at Ovide and it was an awesome experience. The wait staff was very attentive. I absolutely loved the decor. And the BEST part was the food. As a starter, we had the crispy short ribs. While I'm not much of a pork eater, before I realized it we had ate the entire dish. The ribs were falling off the bone and seasoned to perfection. For the main dishes, we had the pan seared grouper and pork chop. Both were delicious. The grouper was a lighter dish while the pork chop was a bit heavier--both equally delicious! To finish the meal, we had the blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. It was a tad bit overcooked likely because it comes in a cast iron skillet and continues to cook. I wish there was a bit more crust, but I ate the entire cobbler and would still order it again. Note that there isn't any onsite parking so either take an Uber or be prepared to pay the fee for valet. I didn't get any pictures because I was starving. By the time I realized I needed pictures, the food was all gone! Overall, solid A experience! read more

We celebrated my birthday and Mother's Day at Ovide. To describe it in one word, PERFECTION. The entire experience was amazing. Aubrei was over server and she was super sweet, attentive, and provided the best menu suggestions. We started with the Ellie biscuits. Yum! Hubby ordered the fried chicken platter and I had the catch of the day which was a pan seared grouper. We loved every single thing we ordered. The collards were very flavorful, the paris potatoes were really good, the grouper along with the heirloom tomatoes was delicious. I did swap the grits for mashed potatoes. I also ordered a cappuccino with dessert and it was excellent. The best coffee I have had in Destin thus far. Valet parking is complimentary (also a nice touch). I hate writing reviews but on this day I had to. We had Thanksgiving dinner at Ovide and we were so not impressed. First, we walk in and the buffet was in a hall way. Second, when we got our food the buffet was self help except for the meat. Well, most of the sides were so thick and over cooked where you couldn't even put it on your plate. The prime rib was so bloody and you couldn't even cut it becaue it was tough the turkey was so dry. We were so excited that we would be eating out but it was a disaster. The service was great but the food was horrible. We will NOT go back there. My boyfriend had shellfish with his meal and on the way home he got sick. He was sick for the rest of the night. For $95 a plate you think it would be fantastic but it was far beyond that. We were hoping to be Thankful on this day for the food but we weren't.
