I ordered their special, which was a brown sugar cinnamon latte. They default is whole milk, which I can appreciate. It was good hot fairly priced. I also ordered the avocado toast with egg and bacon, and it came with an entire avocado on it!!! it also came with a scrambled egg and pieces of bacon on top along with everything bagel seasoning. Definitely could've used a bit more salt, but otherwise it was delicious. The portion was so big that I ended up, giving half of it away to a gentleman that was walking by and remarked how good it looked. They have a few indoor seats and some outdoor seating. Though we didn't try any food, it looked really good My daughter and I tried two totally different drinks but both of them were delicious I had the dirty hippie.... It was a dirty chai with an extra shot which I added, and made with hemp milk. My daughter had a fruity lemonade and it was the perfect combination of tart and sweet. Brew wave is a cute little OB coffee spot, it has limited seating, but it does execute some good coffee. They also sell coffee beans and get sandwiches and pastries in store. I went in on a busy Saturday morning and even though there was a little rush the barista's were efficient at taking our orders and just keeping the mellow vibe. The lattes and the food were good and we ordered the egg bacon and avocado bagel sandwich. Great place to grab some quality coffee and grub and just keep on moving. We were just walking by and I really wanted ice cream, and lo and behold, there was a sign that said they had gelato. When you ask the universe, it delivers! Friendly greeting when I walked in. After looking through the flavors, I settled on a caramel something and strawberry cheesecake....I can't remember what the first one was but I do remember the flavors! I was a happy 5-year-old! Sweet small business in the heart of Ocean Beach! Stopped in this morning and spent almost 4 hours studying here - they also have free wifi but I found it was a little slow, it might have just been the day. Brew Wave has quickly become one of my fave coffee shops in San Diego! I am a customer of the Ocean Beach Business Center down the hall so initially I stopped in for a coffee out of locational convenience (yes, ok, the delicious coffee smells lured me in), but now I buy coffee here because I genuinely love it. They have tons of great options on the menu, but my go-to is a vanilla latte and they make a really good one. It's not too sweet and the temp is always perfect (I like 'em hot). Hungry? They got food options as well as lots of baked goods and smoothies. And the staff is always really friendly (not the snooty kind you can get at some of those other coffee shops...). Stopped in today to for the first time and had a very negative experience. I wanted to choose a shop I had never been to before, in support of local business, but I can't say I will ever been coming back. The counter was full when I arrived so I wanted to give it a chance to die down. Plugged my phone into the wall and was finishing up typing a message when I was rudely confronted by a shop employee. She asked if I purchased anything and I let her know that I would. She must have not seem satisfied with that answer because she then proceeded to instruct me to unplug my phone and rudely told me I couldn't just come in and sit. I didn't realize I had to be rushed to make a selection. It's a coffee shop? I've never received this type of treatment before and I am disappointed in this employees poor customer service. I had headphones and yoga clothes on. Clean normal young woman. Clearly not homeless. I politely ordered a tea and continued to wait for my friend, but we will not be staying or giving this establishment more money. I hope this employee feels silly for harassing customers.
