I've been here a few times now They have a lot of selections. This place is always busy

We visited here many times when it was a Huddle House (prior to 2020) but this was our first stop since then. We sampled a breakfast and a dinner and came away happy -- sort of. Our experience had some good and some not so. For breakfast we sadly found out they can't cook eggs: our omelet was quite overcooked and dry. The biscuit should have been served hot, but the grits were quite tasty though they would have been even better with more cheese. The coffee was hot and fresh, and our server was quick and pleasant. For dinner we enjoyed the fried chicken and the reuben sandwich although the corned beef was a bit on the fatty side, not to our preference, and needed a lot of Thousand Island dressing. We asked for the fries to come crunchy and they did. And we had another good server who kindly packed some ice cream for us to take out. So, the atmosphere here is, not surprisingly, like a diner: n the small side. a little crowded but not alarmingly so. The menu, like most diners, is lengthy, covers a lot of territory and includes a breakfast available all day (hooray!). Prices don't seem out of line: our omelet loaded with ham and bacon and cheese was $11; two eggs any style with a meat side are $8. The Reuben was $11, a cheeseburger $11, roast beef with gravy $14. You get the idea. The place was clean, parking is free, and hey, it's a diner. Enjoy.

Fantastic Road trip find. This is the place I would go to if I lived here, every single weekend. It's a little cramped inside but they make do with the space that they have. Everyone gets seated super fast, and the wait staff makes sure to greet you even if they are completely swamped. Kimmy led me down a taste explosion, that I haven't tried since I was a kid. The intimidating order of country fried steak. The white gravy had just enough seasoning, did not have to add to it the country fried steak was tender and the crust had Crispy moments to it even after eating my entire meal. They passed my test for soft scrambled eggs and I snuck a peek at other people's plates to see how their eggs were coming out. I saw over easy done to perfection regular scrambled, and everything in between. If you can cook an egg you can serve breakfast. Not to be left behind, my Belgian waffle, though isn't a traditional Belgian waffle, was perfection. Fluffy, just sweet enough, and crispy on the edges; I finish the whole darn thing. Biscuits and home fries get an honorable mention. There was nothing on my plate that I didn't enjoy. I did have a little bit of FOMO when I saw all the sausage coming out of the kitchen so order some sausage for me and let me know how it was. This place has been open for two years and they're doing home cooking and local diner Experience right. Everyone from the bus boy to the owner pitches in runs food greet customers and as bad as courteous as you always hope that anybody greeting you when you get home will be. You will not be sorry if you stop here, in fact, you should stop here now.

A lot of cafes in and around the greater Asheville area have a similar vibe. Small, hip, no frills, friendly and welcoming. You'll notice all the framed rave reviews on the wall inside and the website boasts its 16 year reign as #1 restaurant in Brevard, and the menu definitely lives up. We started with the Bavarian Pretzel (which was actually recommended to us by the server at the chocolate shop across the alleyway.) It was very much the right way to go. The pretzel is adorned with several meats, slices of cheese, picked veggies (the pickled okra is amazing!) and some dipping sauces. You could come just for this, a few drinks and maybe another app and have a wonderful time! However you'd miss the delicious entrees. I got the Brunswick stew which was heavenly. My son loved his cedar plank salmon, said it was one of this favorite salmon preps he's ever had. The ambiance on the patio was pleasant with the hanging plants. The restaurant feels like a hidden gem as you have to travel one of the side alleys to find it. But locals seem to have no problem finding their award winning fave. If you're visiting town, this restaurant is definitely a winner. Plus there are some great shops to stroll nearby before or after.

For dinner I had the southwest blackened chicken Cobb salad which was very good as well. Prices were a little up there, but not too crazy. Service was a little slow (they were pretty busy at the time we went) but the server was well educated on the menu. The restaurant was nicely appointed, comfortable and they have a separate room for their bar.

I found Morning Social through a "featured restaurants in Brevard" newsletter and chose to give them a try. I called to check for a wait time before departing our hotel. There was no wait for a weekday at 10am. We sat at their covered outdoor dining area. They have an expansive indoor dining area too. Our server was prompt, friendly, and attentive. I appreciate her "premier" service that got our day started on a positive note.

The missing "star" was the service. We could not get our server for 30 minutes. We tried to flag her down a few times, but I think that she forgot about us. She only came to us once she was told that another couple sat down in her section. We spent in total from check-in to leave about two hours and 15 minutes, for refrence we only waited 20 minutes for a table, the rest of the time it was on the kitchen and server to turn our table. The flow of customers was interesting as well as it felt like there was a line for the bar and people were just staring at us while eating our food and asking us if where they were standing was a line for the bar to get drinks. It was our first time so I couldn't really help anyone else unfortunately. But I feel like there did need to be clearer signage if there was an option to go up to the bar and grab drinks while you wait for your table. Or a floor manager that can better control the traffic.

Everything about this place was absolutely exceptional. Starting with service! The woman that greeted us when we came in and took our order, is one of the sweetest ladies ever. I just kept telling my husband after each small interaction with her "oh my gosh I just love her". It's an incredibly warm and inviting space, and I wish we lived closer just to be able to experience that alone more often. But lord have mercy, the food? They knocked it out of the park!!! They have a huge menu with all sorts of stuff that you don't see super often. We got the Chicago dog, the BBQ burger, the sweet potato fries, onion rings, and a blackberry shake. Those sweet potato fries will have me dreaming about them until I can make my way back here. There's no amount of praise to do this place justice! All I can say is, if you haven't tried stopping by here for a meal, you absolutely need to!

I later added a vanilla shake which was another ten dollars. It was all good and the shake was fantastic but it was over $30 per person. For a hot dog shack! They literally have two $11 hot dogs...what? My daughter's Philly Cheese was a steak sandwich. Not thinly sliced steak but great honking chunks of steak. It was a tough sandwich to get down. Service was fast and friendly and the restaurant had a run down diner vibe. You could probably pare it down to $20 a person but that is still bonkers for sandwich and fries. I don't think we will be back but glad we tried it for sure!
