I love Brevard but stuff does tend to close early here so looking for dinner after nine I ended up at the Waffle House. There were a few quiet couples eating and only one poor guy working the whole restaurant so we sat at the bar so he could easily serve us. I ordered the chicken melt hash brown bowl but was served a chicken melt sandwich and hash browns. No worries, I just took the chicken and cheese off the bread and put it in the hash browns. I love our Waffle House here in Brevard. The management and staff are incredible, and the food is always splendid! Visited there today (September 1st) and they were slammed. I ate at the counter and it was amazing watching them work as a team. Tons of orders being called out and the cooks never missed a beat. Shane and his crew were calm and even laughing while working. Came here with my sister a few weeks ago for brunch, an old fashion breakfast. Right on spot, we were served coffee. Our waitress as sweet as can be served us our breakfast, made right in front of you, was hot and good. If you ever went to a Waffle House, they are consistent and simple, no frills . I once went into a Waffle House in Cookeville, Tennessee where--I kid you not--the cook was a third generation Waffle House chef and could toss an egg up in the air, twirl around, and catch the egg back in the pan. Behind his back! With his eyes closed! Needless to say, the Waffle House in Brevard is not that Waffle House. They didn't seat me because they had no waitstaff. The coffee was so watered down that, even at 5 am and in desperate need of caffeine, I tossed it. I got a biscuit to-go, but the sausage was burned so bad that it was like bacon. (Crispy friggin' bacon.) The biscuit itself was so salty that my lips shriveled immediately upon biting into it. Listen, I realize this two-star review smacks of privilege. I've never had to bust my ass as a short order cook in a Waffle House. But I've also come to think of WaHo as a reliable place. Call it, if you will, Waffle Home. I'm just saying: I miss that. If you are looking for fine dining with eggs benedict and table cloths go elsewhere. If you are looking for good classic food at a reasonable price, go to Waffle House. Be sure to ask for the DARK ROAST Coffee. They have it and it is better. Eggs are not greasy and perfectly cooked. I had it my head, "Must try the Waffle House", so while in Brevard, we went. It was about what I expected. No surprises, decent eggs, cooked to perfection, as opposed to messing them up...and a waffle. Now if you are going to call yourself, "Waffle House" shouldn't you have the best waffles on the planet? Well, they don't, they are average at best, but a good value for what they charge. The service at this Waffle House was pretty bad. Although our server tried, she just doesn't have it in her to be a great waitress. Which is sad, We sat at a booth where we could see the waffles being made...the thing that was disturbing was watching the lady make these things..what a mess this cooking area was. Batter dripping all over the place, and little attempt to clean things up. The worst thing was watching our waffles sit on the counter for 5 minutes before our server picked them up and moved them 3 feet to where we were sitting. Waffle house.... usually this type of restaurant is dingy and is a good place to buy drugs, join a motorcycle gang, or get low priced prostitution... THIS Waffle house was amazingly well lit, on a hill and clean as can be... food was great, staff were cute (the blonde girl) ... come on, im a guy.. nothing wrong with that... lol..... the food was good, quick, normal priced... If Papa Joe is there in the front, everyone is taken care of and made sure everything is good! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by Papa Joe, he asked politely where we would like to sit. The food was up to par, my all time favorite is getting Waffles with chocolate chip and peanut butter chip on top. Yes, it's Waffle House, but as a regular and someone that travels all over the south, this Waffle House gets very high marks from me. If you live in the south, Waffle House is a familiar dinning choice and they are certainly not all equal. Brevard Waffle House has a very friendly staff, excellent cooks and clean restaurant. Bob, the manager runs a tight ship. So, if you would like to see your eggs cracked, your tea and coffee made fresh, this is the place. No frills, no gimmicks. The food here is great. Every time I come here I get my food quick and it tastes delicious. The one thing that hated to today was the staffs attitude. I was listening to music and one of the staff didn't like what I was listening to on their Waffle House Radio. I wasn't playing anything bad or annoying just regular music. I wouldn't eat here again even if it was the last restaurant in Brevard! We watched a waitress making waffles. Her hair net covered a third of her hair (which she kept flipping with her ungloved hand). She flipped the waffle out with her fingers onto a plastic plate, then put it on a regular plate then patted it with her ungloved hand. I found a hair on my plate. I placed an order almost 1hr. In advance. When I came to pick the order up it was not ready. When I told the waitress I had only 30 mins. Before I had to return to work, she rudely replied that I could either wait or leave. Needless to say I will not be eating there again. read more
