I got the Italian beef sandwich this time (highly recommend), and it was genuinely perfect. My mom got the meatloaf sandwich which was very tasty, and my dad really enjoyed his Carolina dog. Will forever praise the sweet potato fries, but the onion rings knock it out of the open as well, especially alongside the dipping sauce they provide with them. The gentleman who rang us up was very good at his job, I regret not snagging his name! Very polite, which is always noticed and greatly appreciated. Clean, plenty of seating (inside and outside), and just an overall great vibe to the place. Wish I didn't live 2 hours away, cause this would be a weekly, if not daily spot!

I later added a vanilla shake which was another ten dollars. It was all good and the shake was fantastic but it was over $30 per person. For a hot dog shack! Service was fast and friendly and the restaurant had a run down diner vibe. You could probably pare it down to $20 a person but that is still bonkers for sandwich and fries. I don't think we will be back but glad we tried it for sure!

From the moment you walk up, there's a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel less like a customer and more like someone they're genuinely happy to have there. The staff absolutely deserves recognition--they're friendly, attentive, professional, and somehow manage to make the experience feel personal without ever being overbearing. What really stood out to me was the overall experience. Great service is one thing, but when you combine it with a comfortable atmosphere, good people, and the feeling that the staff actually cares whether you enjoy yourself, it turns an ordinary night out into something memorable. There are plenty of places where you can spend your money. There are far fewer places that make you leave thinking, "I definitely want to come back." The Pavilion is one of those places. If you're in Brevard or anywhere nearby and haven't been yet, put this place on your list. Whether you're going out with friends, spending time with someone special, or just looking for a place where you can relax and enjoy yourself, The Pavilion is absolutely worth visiting. Thank you to everyone there for making the experience such a great one. You've earned a repeat customer. The food was excellent. Six stars without hesitation.

A lot of cafes in and around the greater Asheville area have a similar vibe. Small, hip, no frills, friendly and welcoming. You'll notice all the framed rave reviews on the wall inside and the website boasts its 16 year reign as #1 restaurant in Brevard, and the menu definitely lives up. We started with the Bavarian Pretzel (which was actually recommended to us by the server at the chocolate shop across the alleyway.) It was very much the right way to go. The pretzel is adorned with several meats, slices of cheese, picked veggies (the pickled okra is amazing!) and some dipping sauces. You could come just for this, a few drinks and maybe another app and have a wonderful time! However you'd miss the delicious entrees. I got the Brunswick stew which was heavenly. My son loved his cedar plank salmon, said it was one of this favorite salmon preps he's ever had. The ambiance on the patio was pleasant with the hanging plants. The restaurant feels like a hidden gem as you have to travel one of the side alleys to find it. But locals seem to have no problem finding their award winning fave. If you're visiting town, this restaurant is definitely a winner. Plus there are some great shops to stroll nearby before or after.
