So glad we stumbled onto this quaint all-day brunch spot during our stay in Brevard. The coffee was fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious and the ambience was as if you'd taken a small step back in time. Great selection of dishes, actually hard to choose because they all looked incredible. I went for the classic southern sausage gravy with biscuits and it did not disappoint! Very highly recommend! read more

Quaint little cafe that has reasonable prices and friendly service. Almost every table was full on a Saturday morning. Would go again next time I'm in Brevard for sure. read more

The Sunrise Cafe is now open with Pescados. The food is ok but the restaurant is not managed well. A party of 2 was seated at a table seating 6 when there were tables for 4 available. My party of 5 were Made to wait. The manager was rude when I asked about it. Eventually our party of 5 was seated at a table of 4 with an extra chair. The manager/waitress fairly threw my lunch on the table. Her incompetence made lunch unpleasant for all. read more

Amazing food and friendly staff! Such a cozy and casual restaurant. Stopped by today for a quick breakfast for our big family of 8 and they did not disappoint! High recommend their pancake breakfast for the kids and their burrito supreme for a grown hungry tummy. Thank you for having us, we hope to visit again soon! read more

Absolute star of a place. They run a tight ship but still have friendly service. It is in a small little strip mall close to downtown. But without downtown parking. Inside you will find a small little cozy space to sit with tons of local artwork on the walls. Super affordable compared to other artist scene. Outside there is some seating as well. Not super great because it's next to the parking lot but grateful to have it done less. The staff are super friendly, and the line moves fast so don't be intimidated. I got a breakfast sandwich and I was happy to see they did not have charge me for the veggie sausage or to switch my cheese out for cream cheese. Sounds gross but I swear it's good. My partner got the breakfast plate. Overall we were incredibly happy with the price and quality of the food. They had a ton of bakery items for sale and also very affordable pricing. Didn't have steaks but that's OK. The coffee was a little bit late and not very strong but organic and tons of options. We definitely got here again read more

Regardless what I've ordered over the years, the food is always fresh, and delicious. I broke my paradigm go-to-lunch order, and tried their Ruben. It was delightful. The owners and waitstaff are always kind and helpful. Enjoy! read more

In the area for 3 weeks and I've already been here twice in a week! How did I not discover this place before? Great food, reasonable prices, with quick counter service. My son loved the mini pancakes. I ordered an omelet the first time and the breakfast nachos the second time. Loved them both. Small spot but it has indoor and outside seating and a speaker outside allows you to hear your order number being called if you're outside. read more

Always a good breakfast! So sad to see the business closing, but will follow them to Grammy's.

Really nice place for breakfast. I had the basic breakfast and it was delicious. The staff was friendly too. The place is smaller so I would keep a small group visit read more

This little cafe is tucked into a strip shopping center across from the college. It has the usual artwork on the walls and an ecletic feel to it. The small menu is fairly typical... sweet and savory breakfast fare ranging from egg dishes & sandwiches to bagels & muffins to waffles. Everything is served on disposable plates with disposable utensils. We ordered a basic breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. It looked just as it is described and tasted the same way. I went with a bagel. It was fresh and Sunrise does have a good assortment of bagels. The waffles weren't available so my daughter had a muffin. She loved it and it was definitely the best part of the breakfast. I found the food to be ordinary... nothing I would seek out. Prices were reasonable.. even low.. compared to the other breakfast joints in town. The coffee was good and strong. I think there are better breakfast options in Brevard if you want something more complex and don't mind higher prices. Sunrise is great for that quick stop to get a warm breakfast sandwich at a low price. read more

Small, out of the way place, but excellent food and superb service. We don't live in the area, but will definitely be back when in town.

What a great Yelp find on a lazy Saturday. Strip mall location in Brevard, right across from the College. The seating is tight, but not overly so. Interesting mix of retired folks and college kids this Saturday. Food was great, we both enjoyed the Pisgah Scramble special, scrambled eggs with crumbed bacon and tomatoes over home fires. Good coffee selection, piping hot. Paper plates and plastic forks were a bit of a disappointment. read more

Delicious. Decent bagels (high praise for former New Yorkers). Chicken salad was good; not canned chicken with nice flavor and herbs. I had lox on my bagel, light capers, thick juicy tomato slices, and spinach. Just the way I like it. It was a steal for $8!! All of this with smart, friendly service. Highly recommend. read more

Ordered just a bowl of grits. They had been cooked on the previous day and reheated. Grits should be cooked the same day they are served. Joe Pesci would not have eaten these congealed lumps of twice-cooked grits. My wife, who gives independent restaurants the benefit of the doubt, also gave low marks for a vegan tofu mix. read more

Excellent food! I enjoyed the quiche and the roasted red pepper soup is amazing!!! I also loved the almond joy coffee that I ordered.

I do wish they had table service. It would be more relaxed. I don't like places that one has to order at counter, and sit until your number gets called. That being said, this place is wonderful. Huge menu of excellent food. Bagels and Lox!!! read more

The staff was so nice and the food was amazing! The cafe is really cute will definitely be back!!

This place is fantastic. I ordered the Baja Wrap and it was absolutely incredible. Short wait time as well, and very friendly staff!!

Great service and food is fresh and delicious. Specials every day and lots of variety. Breakfast until 2:30 when they close.

Awesome spot. It will be on our food list during each visit to Brevard! Service super. Staff friendly, seems that they really appreciate our business. A no-frills, homey spot with awesome food. We'll be back. read more

Food was not bad but unimpressive. I got an omelet, home fries, and bagel. Others had the Burrito Supreme and a Breakfast Sandwich. Everything served on paper/plastic. The plate with my omlet and potatoes was stacked on top of my bagel with cream cheese. When I lifted the plate, it was stuck in the cream cheese... leaving it all on the underside of my plate.... and leaving whatever may have been on the underside of my plate IN my cream cheese bagel. One staff member was especially rude and had a horrible attitude. As I was finishing my meal I watched another staff blow their nose right in the area where coffee drinks are made/prepared...twice... and then continue on without washing their hands. Needless to say I didn't finish my food and left feeling nauseated. Not many breakfast options in Brevard, but definitely won't be back to this one. read more

Sunrise Cafe .... bad experience. Ordered "to go" and they left my stuff on the open counter near all the customers. As I returned to pick up my order, I saw some random customer open my bag, stick his nose inside then close it up. I asked the counter person if I saw what I saw, their reply was "It's no big deal, he just looked inside.." Needless to say, I asked for a new bag of bagels and they replaced it with fresh bagels from behind the counter. .... Guess the end of "Corona virus rules, social distancing and mask use" in Brevard, NC. (oh, forgot to mention, they even got the order WRONG after that ... they must have been too busy to care. read more

Food was great, small inside but the staff was great! Would definitely go back! River wrap and a rookies bagel were delicious!

A bustling and casual breakfast/lunch spot across from Brevard College. A local favorite that is affordable and delicious. Oftentimes there is a long line, but most people don't seem to have a problem waiting. They have a wide variety of bagels. The names of the specials are quirky and have some sort of theme. I love the lox bagel and pizza bagel. read more

Went here this morning around 10 for breakfast. I ordered the sweetheart omelette, which was a special for the day. Three eggs, tomato, mozzarella, artichokes, and onion. It's supposed to come with grits or home fries and your choice of bread, but since I am trying to follow a low carb and low sugar diet I swapped those sides out for sausage. They were super accommodating about making substitutions. The sausage was a little rubbery, but the omelette was great. Lots of veggies and cheese, and nice and fluffy. I got a fountain drink, but they also offer a variety of hot teas, coffees, and juices. My sister ordered an asiago bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese. For both of us to have breakfast and drinks, I only spent around $10. Other menu options included breakfast burritos, sandwiches, soups, smoothies, breakfast platters, and sides. The decor is cute and eclectic. Photos from the area, a pet wall where you can contribute a photo of your pet, and a colorful mural on the window. I'd totally go here again. read more

Hungry for that simple country breakfast that'll send you home satisfied and smilin'? That's what you'll get at Grammy's. Brooke is the coolest host - from her big smile & tons of beautiful tats, to her patient way of dealing with a Covid-wary crowd - and the cooks know how to keep it coming! Worth the wait. Great food in a relaxed atmosphere. I loved this place. I really recommend it. Great with kids too.

We managed to find this little breakfast spot during a visit to see my daughter at Brevard College. They could use better signage to make it easier to find. The food was delicious and the coffee was excellent. read more

The waffles were good. The omelette was OK. The coffee was very good. They had some organic offerings but everything is served on disposable plates and non-recyclable silverware. It is so hard to see this amount of waste being produced. Serving organic food while creating this amount of toxic waste and demand for these materials seems ironic. We will not be back. read more

Great staff really good breakfast. Probably the best place to go in brevard and much better than the trendy overpriced breakfast restaurants that seem to only care about your cash and not about customer service. Be warned though, paper plates if that is something you don't like. Great coffee too read more

I hate this review because now it may get more crowded in this tiny cafe yet if you want fast service, good pricing, with a capable kitchen then this is IT for wraps, soups and salads, coffee (love you" black silk"), and hand made pastries. I love you sunrise cafe. You are the best. It does not get any better. read more

The food here is good, though you're dependent on your own service. Just keep that in mind. You take the menu to the counter and order and everything else is your own responsibility after they drop the food off. The menu, however, is lovely. Very interesting sandwich combinations and pretty nommy soup too. They've a full breakfast menu which seemed to be a big hit, but I was too caught up on the Dill Turkey Salad. Dill is like my kryptonite after all. Fresh ingredients, everything with that home-made feel like it came from your own momma's kitchen (if she was a good cook, that is). I definitely wouldn't try to go for brunch on a Sunday. It gets packed with locals and there's no real parking for it. Great sorta family atmosphere. (Unless you have some weird old woman hovering over you waiting for you to finish eating like I did.) read more

B.S.I. Report 001 Order : Supreme Burrito and Avocado Toast Atmosphere: 2/5 Didn't suck, but didn't add anything either. Location in a strip shopping center could've led to fun, hole-in-the-wallness but instead it was just kinda boring. Service: 4/5 Friendly and efficient. Food:1/5 Pretty sure the cook is struggling with high blood pressure because there was NO SALT to be found. Eggs without salt and pepper? Ehhhh. And good gracious the grits were the saddest we've ever tasted. No seasoning, no butter, no cheese, undercooked. (Must be a Yankee back there whipping them up...) Coffee was pretty good. Other people's bagels looked ok. TL;DR We've had better meals at IHOP. Not worth a visit. read more

Cool atmosphere and great spot for brunch. Have coffee, mimosas, bloody Mary's, etc. while you wait on your table. We waited an hour on Saturday morning but it was worth it. They get fresh veggies from their own garden and the food is phenomenal. Build your own omelet was fun and tasty! I didn't give 5 stars due to a hair in my food-but that could happen anywhere:/ Still excellent food and service! read more

Not so good this time. Sunrise needs to rise again! Its funny, now that I had this less than exceptional experience with the food, other things that didn't bother me before started to jump out. It would seem that great food covers a multitude of sin. Lol read more

the food was decent- we ate here 7/30 Saturday I had the waffle plate waffle eh, bacon good (it's bacon) and home fries (good) my wife had I think the american breakfast, eggs, home fries and bacon, and a zuchini muffin blah we both had coffee- I wish I knew the chain of coffee but they serve snickerdoodle which I've seen at a few restaurants, and coffee shops- the line of coffee is a little bleh to my tasting but way better than waffle house coffee. the food was ok- If it was food alone I'd go 3 to 3.5 stars- the cooks all wore gloves. my downgrade is I observed a middle aged woman (who I assume is the owner or manager... who empties trash, wipes the floor, puts food on the pick up counter but doesn't wash her hands between any of these tasks). I wanted to leave seeing this but my wife read positive reviews and LOVES breakfast, The employee was also was very snide complaining to whichever customer was closest to her, It was a big turnoff and I didn't ask for butter for my waffle because I saw how the person I assumed was owner or manager handled herself and I thought my food would be bacteria laden if she gave me butter ( I don't know if it comes in a container or it is cut so this a perception based on observed poor hygiene I opted for a slightly dry waffle with only kroger laura lynn syrup) If hygiene and food safety is very important to you then I believe you would rate this 1 * if you only care about taste and inexpensive food and eating dirt and who knows what bacteria is OK with you this is 5* all the way read more

Probably the best little nook spot in town and I feel comfortable saying that after living here for a few years . The coffee is terrific, particularly whatever organic selection they have that day and the food is always at least "good". Give it a try for breakfast ! read more

My parents rave about this place. The line is long, but a nice garden area chill out in. Tables were small, ambience a bit overwhelming/noisy. The food? fail. The eggs in omelletes use a mix. (You can easily tell from color and consistency, waiter confirmed. The shrimp n grits were one of the worst I've had. It was like heavy cream was poured all over a side of grits as an afterthought. All other orders from our table were average at best. (From non foodies) it's an overrated place that needs to focus on product. Try Tupelo Honey. Much better. read more
