Expensive, not worth it, slow. The service was slow (through no fault of their own) and the mushroom omelette I had just tasted like buttery mush. The service was running around like crazy- they were clearly understaffed. Although the food came quick enough, it took about 30 min to get a table and maybe another 30 to get the bill. We also saw people who came after us get served first, which is frustrating when you've waited for so long. We also saw a host drop cutlery on the floor, and put it back on the table to set it, without getting new ones out. Anyways, won't be coming back! read more

Oh my gosh. Perfection. This place is so cute. Well decorated, inviting and cozy. It is also now one of my top 3 for an eggs benny and thats a hard thing to achieve. Fresh ingredients, the hashbrowns were phenomenal as they were a root vegetable mix perfectly cooked, the hollandaise had the perfect tang. Reasonably priced.Good coffee. Really a must try place to add to your breakfast arsenal. I will be back! read more

The location is a bit out of the way but it was worth the drive! Food portion is decent and it all tasted so good! The harsh browns are actually a mix of a variety of root vegetables which I actually quite enjoy. We ordered this overloaded smoothie at the end coz it looked really amazing on the picture!!! When it was served to our table, we then were told we have to purchase the metal straws as they are not offering free plastic straws any more. Apparently the server wasn't informed about this either until she went and look for the straws. Overall the experience was still quite positive even with the little incident. read more

Not truly 4 stars but instead rounded down from 3.5, just like many of other breaky spots in Calgary. It's on the edge of west side of the city up on the rolling hills where street widening to 4 lanes leads into the box-home burbs, where upscale restaurants nestle beside No-frills groceries and cosmetic spas (West Springs). All newly constructed, nothing unusual or outstanding. Sorry for the cynicism, but when one drives 15 kms to the edge of the city and an upper middle-class brekkie place that serves up a really boring meal... In general the menu reads toward an eclectically-great meal, but the wild-mushroom benny was only okay, so average as to put me to sleep: 1. yolks were fairly dark yellow that likely were free-run eggs. 2. overly-crispy skillet-fried 'hash browns' not only bland, but so charred on the topside as to be burnt, and almost flavourless: odd that the underside was uncooked, sloppy and strange, and no spices or onions present to grab my interest. Perhaps the cook forgot them... 3. wild mushrooms and goat cheese flavours bland but passable. 4. presentation for their other meals in general is good, altho mine was just a big dark pile of over-crispy stuff with two big benny eyes staring up into my face. Gimme well-prepared bacon & eggs, I say. 5. aftertaste not at all pleasant: an hour later the greasy layer left in my mouth from the 'hash blacks' prompted mid-am toothbrushing! I now don't know why I went there. Hoping for sth truly great, I guess. Their focus on 'healthy & nutritious' doesn't at all outstrip all the other mediocre diners in the city. And spent so much time getting there and back (about 50 minutes)... Brekkie's interior is typically open-planned to the painted structural and HVAC piping, and quite attractive with plenty of wood-toned seats for about 65 people, but was mostly empty. Small potted live plants adorned each table setting that included duck-styled soft cloth napkins. Nice touches. The serving crew of one was pleasant and most helpful in selecting brekky, but the kitchen's results didn't match her enthusiasm. Won't ever return. For a city-center dwelling person, just too far away from just about anything attractive or funky, and the meal just not that good! Check it out for yourself if you live out there, but Galaxie in Lower Mount Royal and Purple Perk in Mission offer somewhat more for less! Too bad, but if something isn't all that special (despite much effort to be so) and on the pricy side for what one gets, should we not say it? read more

The food and service here is always great. I've been coming to Brekkie since it first opened last year, and I've never been disappointed. It's hands down the best tasting brunch food I've ever eaten in Calgary and I highly recommend the Quinoa Bowl or the Vanilla French Toast... the prices are on par with other brunch places and are certainly justified by the sheer quality of the dishes they make. The service here is always exceptional as well. You can tell that the staff here a lot of pride in what they do. We did not have the pleasure of actually eating here so I will refrain from commenting on the food or service. This review is specific to the wait time. The staff do not know how to measure a wait time that is even close to accurate. Our 30-35 minute wait would have in reality been over an hour. We pulled the plug once we realised that after 30 minutes there were still 6 parties ahead of us. If you know the size of this restaurant you will know that 6 covers is a large percentage of the space. They need to rely less on an App for wait time estimation and more on their knowledge of the restaurant and the covers that are actually there. We are at Diner Deluxe now. No wait here. I will not be going back to Brekkie ever as I would rather give business to those that operate in a better manner. read more

We ate here today and it was fabulous. The place was very busy but we managed to get seated right away. We were a couple and the tables are a bit small and squeezed close together. The server was awesome. Very polite and drinks were served promptly. My latte was served hot and the orange juice was fresh and served nice and cold. I was impressed. The Eggs Benedict was superb. I asked for 'over medium' eggs and that is exactly what I got. So many places get it wrong. We really enjoyed ourselves here. read more

Went to Brekkie for the first time today. I've heard so much about it, lots of friends telling me to go, so we did. I had the Chorizo Grilled Cheese and my wife had the Mushroom Short Rib Bowl... WOW! Both meals were very fresh, flavourful and not your typical breakfast food. The staff was amazing, attentive, professional and friendly. So glad this opened after the previous establishment in the same location closed. The food is excellent and the service is very good. We stopped going to the previous establishment because it was so slow. Brekkie now allows us exactly the amount of time we want for breakfast whether we are somewhat rushed or want to linger. COVID or no COVID, Brekkie serves good food and terrible service. Staff are slow, ambivalent and often incompetent. And here's a tip: if you don't own a pen and notepad and hope to remember an order for 4 people, don't mess it up. We were on the waitlist, checked in but still had to wait an hour and a half for a table. They kept prioritizing big tables and have seen the manager accommodate other people that are not even on the wait list. Really disappointed because the food was amazing but the service was bad. We were patient and understanding enough but even the main hostess did not have the best mood. read more

The food was delicious and quick to come, and so were the drinks, but the service and experience couldn't have been worse. Very, very slow. Waited 10-15 minutes just for someone to come to the table to take drink orders ( they never even said hi how are you? Just walked right up to us saying "what do you want to drink") not warm or friendly. Nobody came back to our table after we got our food to see how it was or if we needed anything. We sat there after a host cleared out plates for half hour with nobody coming over. Empty drinks and waters. The same person never came to our table twice, so had to ask if we even had a server and if someone could bring our bills. read more

My husband and I just discovered this cute new brunch spot Thursday. The decor is very new and modern.The food was good, the eggs benedict's were very tasty, but a bit expensive. The downside was that our meals took a long time to come out. However, the service helped make up for this. Our server, Nathan, was very attentive and polite, his recommendations were excellent and he made sure our coffees were full the entire time while we waited! We will be back. read more

Went for brunch today. What was good was the get in line as part of the yelp app. This cut our waiting time from 45 minutes to about 15. Staff were polite. We were 5 people and were given the option of waiting or sitting in a booth designed for 4. Although cozy, that is what we chose to do. The food itself was fine, not outstanding considering the prices. The reason for the 3 stars was because I substituted potatoes and toast for the grilled Roma tomatoes. She said there would be an additional cost ($5 for the side) I agreed but what was served was 3/4 of a small Roma tomatoes with a small amount of pesto on top. When I asked her if this small (not even one whole tomatoe) was the the $5 side she said yes and that tomatoes were expensive. She could see my disbelief and told me she wouldn't charge me. That was a good thing because it was quite appalling. I could have walked the 50 ft to the no frills store and bought the restaurant more than a dozen tomatoes for $5 bucks. It is bad enough when restaurants up charge you for substitutions based on allergies or diet restrictions but at least when you are willing to pay the extra for a side, make it a real side! read more

I came here on New Years Day with some friends and despite it being busy, we had excellent service and the food was amazing. We had the Moroccan Chicken Poutine, the eggs benny and the fried egg sandwich and everything was delicious! I will continue to bring my friends and family for breakfast and lunch!
