I wouldn't say the food or service is bad. I would just say the food quality is regular therefore you are paying more for the ambience and atmosphere. A very aesthetically pleasing and cozy brunch place in the Aspen area. Lots of parking in the area, as it's in the same plaza as the No Frills. Our waitress, Annie was lovely. I had the maple chili braised short rib eggs benny ($18) and my friend had the traditional eggs benny ($15) so the prices are on par with most brunch places nowadays. I had no complaints about the food, and my short rib was tender but unfortunately I didn't find that any aspect of the food really blew me away. Maybe this place was hyped up a bit too much in my opinion so my expectations were too high? I would say Brekkie is a decent place if you didn't want to wait an hour for other popular brunch spots. read more

Cozy little breakfast cafe in situated up in the Aspen area. They combine classic diner with modern flare. Came here with my family at 10:45 on a Saturday and we were seated right away, by the owner no less. Service was great and food was delicious and presented beautifully. I got the chicken and waffles, which was perfectly cooked. I wanted some spice and I got the ghost pepper jelly on the side (if the ghost pepper wasn't a sign already, warning, it's pretty damn hot). I like my spice, but for this jelly a little goes a long way. I tasted the breakfast poutine which was also good, but pretty heavy on the potatoes. It's only served with one egg, so I would ask for a 2nd egg or more bacon next time. My mom said she enjoyed her fried egg sandwich too. Overall, I was pretty happy with the place and loved that the owner even introduced himself to us as well. Another bonus is that they are on the 'no wait' app where you can put your name on the waitlist when it does get busier. There definitely was a line up when we left at noon. Came to Brekkie for a birthday this morning (Monday). We were seated promptly and our server popped by with water within a minute of being seated. Off to a great start. However, 20 mins later we left with not one more acknowledgment from Jules or anyone else for that matter. No coffee, juice or the planned Empress Mimosas, no one asking if we had questions about the menu or were ready to order. Nothing. Three servers working and not full to capacity. Gave this place a try today for family brunch. We put ourselves on the wait list before driving out as it was about a 30min wait. Our server was very nice and the decor is simple. The food was tasty but the portion sizes are inconsistent. Our son ordered a brisket poutine which was enormous with huge slabs of brisket and a pound of potatoes. Hubby had the chicken and waffles which was deelish but only had 2 small pieces of chicken. The amount of chicken to brisket was really off considering they were only a dollar apart in cost. I had the brisket Benny which was tasty and a regular sized portion. The food quality is high but the variation of portions between dishes was odd to us. The table next to us had a quinoa almond bowl which looked generous too so perhaps you need to know what to order to get your money's worth. We also found the coffee overly fruity but that's a taste preference as we like a darker roast. It's a solid neighbourhood place but we'd not drive 30-35 minutes to go there again unless we're in the area. read more

What an enjoyable brunch! From the time our group of five sat down in the large corner booth it was brunch perfection. The coffee and tea was excellent and the cups were always kept full. Our table ordered several different bennies and the french toast. The food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time despite how crowded the restaurant was, and was plated beautifully, served piping hot and most importantly was absolutely delicious. Certainly one of the upsides of Brekkie is that it isn't located in Kensington or the Beltline where parking is difficult to find. It is worth the drive to Aspen Wood and this large suburban shopping centre. If I were to nitpick, the prices are a little high, but it is worth the splurge. read more

Nice brunch offering in the Apen/Cougar Ridge area of town. English muffin could have been slightly more toasted to hold up to the perfectly soft poached eggs and moisture from the greens/mushrooms. Hollandaise needed a touch more salt. Potatoes were standard cubed, nothing special. Overall a tasty meal but not one I would drive out of the way for. Good choice if you live in the area. read more

What a great little brunch place! Not only was the food fantastic, but the whole experience was close to seamless. The staff were friendly and efficient, making the visit nice and quick. After a few past brunch experiences in Calgary, this was a lovely surprise. The atmosphere is lovely, with great decor and endless amounts of natural light. So pleasant! I had the pear French toast, while my boyfriend had the special (lobster eggs benny). They were both delicious. Especially the French toast which was an awesome amalgamation of flavour. Sweet and spice and everything nice. I can't wait to return to Brekkie, to try more of the menu. It will be happening soon... likely very soon. Dainty little café that's cozy and welcoming. My son and I came here for a nice breakfast during the week and we had a great meal. Food was delicious and beautifully presented - I enjoyed the pork belly and pineapple salsa benny but it was a bit too greasy for my liking as there was a bit of oil on the bread underneath. My son loved his French toast sticks and was occupied with the coloring sheet our fabulous server provided to him. This place is so fun! Very trendy. I tried the traditional benny and it was cooked to perfection! The poached eggs were literally flawless. The rosemary potatoes were cooked perfectly. It was a lot of food, so if you aren't super hungry, I'd recommend sharing. I brought my 3 young boys (6-6-11) here for breakfast. We ordered pancakes that were quite special with all the toppings. Also ordered milks and a specialty coffee. I had a poached egg on toast. Our bill was over $100 with tip. Do I need to say more? Would recommend only as a special treat for families but certainly not a regular brunch spot. Servers were friendly, but service was extremely slow. Although our drink order was taken quickly, it took a long time for the server to come for the food order, for refills to be brought, and for plates to be cleared. I used to absolutely love going to Brekkie twice a month for brunch, but after my experience today I will not be coming back. My partner and I ordered bottomless coffee that was not refilled throughout our entire hour dining experience, even though our cups were empty. When our bennies came out, mine was ice cold, & I couldn't flag down a waitress for over 10 minutes despite trying to catch their attention politely. Although I could see all of the waitresses (including our own) just chatting behind the drink bar. I genuinely think our waitress forgot about us, I had to ask the hostess for our bill and she did not check on us once after taking our order. read more
