Don't let the old man in. Clint Eastwood replied this to country singer Toby Keith on how he keeps going when he was turning 88 years old . Toby wrote a song about it. In the song he said: "How old would you say you were, if you didn't know the day you were born?" This is my new mantra: I am not letting the old man in! I am in my mid 60s. People say I look much younger than I actually am. I work out regularly, and run semi regularly. I also do other things. Years ago a friends father got let go from a high level position during a downsizing of his company. He was in his mid 60s. . He applied for many jobs and was turned down. He had grey hair. He dyed it. The first interview after he dyed his hair he was hired. Coincidence? Maybe. I get a very slight hair color to cover a little of my grey. Literally washed in at the shampoo bowl, it stays in for literally 3-4 minutes tops and is washed out. The change is subtle but makes a difference. At times, my wife complains when I touch her that my nails and skin around them are too rough, and asks me to stop. So, I get manicures, no polish, lol. I also get a Russian manicure where the nail tech uses a little dremel tool to smooth the skin around my nails- no more complaints. So, I add in a pedicure-why not. Your feet will thank you- and it feels amazing. While I am there, or sometimes another appointment, I get my eye brows waxed, plucked and trimmed. No more gnarly or stray thick black hairs, or the hairs growing between my brows or into my eye lids or forehead. Gone. While she is at it, she waxes my ears. The outside where the fine and stray hairs grow and the inside where they grow too long, but we don't notice them, because who looks at the side of their head that close. Not us, but everyone else sees it that is standing or sitting next to you. Oh and remember, as we get older our vision gets worse. So those younger than us will notice more than we do. Also waxing the nose hairs. It is so much more comfortable than trimming them. No stabbing hairs inside your nose when you sleep at night or thinking you have a "bat in the cave" when it's just your hairs irritating your nose. Breathing through your nose becomes a dream. When we go on vacation and my shirt will be off at the pool or beach, I have them wax my back. I don't have a lot of hair back there. The ones I do have are long and noticeable. But who looks at your back hair. We don't, we can barely see back there. But everyone behind us does see them. Then there is the facial. The facial and neck massage, cleaning of the pores, chemical treatments, along with the other special electronic treatments they provide make a difference. I also get my hair cut there. Which is always fantastic. We can have the best and youthful attitude in the world. We can have the feeling of youth on our side and in our inside. Sometimes a little extra help from the professionals helps us keep the old man out or prevents others from seeing the old man within us. Either way, the talented professionals at this salon can deliver on both. Often our youthful attitude takes us places. These professionals take you to the next level place. read more

$60 for a haircut on already very short hair with no wash? What are y'all fucking magician's? Lmfao. There are so many other salons with cheaper and better hair cuts. If you're going to go to a salon with a $60 haircut at least include a hair wash. Good lord. This salon has a more upscale feel but without the quality in haircuts. You got some really sweet lady's here but others have such a cocky attitude. Wouldn't recommend this place. Maybe it's $60 because it includes refreshments... like water, or coffee if you're feeling fancy. read more

I started out with hair an inch and half below my shoulder. I came asking for a very simple trim. Usually asking for a trim is straightforward. I ended up getting three inches cut off, and it's way above my shoulder. This is after I specifically said I do not want my hair that short. I have never in my life gotten such a bad hair cut. I also got highlights and specifically said I just want them to cover my grays and showed that my grays were around my ears. When I got home I pulled my hair back into a bun, and all of my grays by my ears are still there. Such sloppy and inattentive work. It was a complete hack job. I won't be back. read more

Great stylists are hard to find. I had never been to Breathe Salon before and I left extremely happy. Abby did a great job on reviving my blonde highlights. I highly recommend!! Everyone was nice, the salon was very modern and the price was much lower than I anticipated. read more

Professional and personal. You'll look and feel better than when you walked in. The staff are awesome.

I love Michelle! She is one of the best hairdressers I've met. I love the salon overall being so accommodating and respectful of their clients read more

I had my eyebrows microbladed by Yuko! Yuko is EXCEPTIONAL, truly! She is a perfectionist and a true artist. Her work is meticulous and thorough. She is very gracious, and asks to see if you are comfortable the whole time you are with her. The service took three hours from start to finish. Yuko's eye to the smallest detail is just superb. She listened to me, and gave me exactly what I wanted. She patiently took her time mapping my eyebrows to the perfect shape, and asked for my input every step of the way. She's very sweet and courteous, and extremely professional. She certainly is an asset to Breathe Salon and if you're thinking of getting your eyebrows microbladded, Yuko is the one to go see. I am a client for life read more

Be careful! I made an appointment for a microblading retouch. The receptionist confirmed the price after I told her that Olivia did not do my original microblading. When I went in for the retouch Olivia raised the price from $150 to $450! Typical bait and switch. After posting my review the owner is saying there was "confusion". No confusion. I made an appointment for a $150 service as confirmed by the receptionist. Went to my appointment and Olivia told me that the receptionist "made a mistake" and I should have been quoted $450 not $150. Big difference! As I said, bait and switch. Notified the BBB. read more

Phenomenal service! I'm new to the area and trying to find a new stylist is always a scary adventure. I truly lucked out with Breathe. I went in with hair that was embarrassingly overdue for a cut and color and I was (as usual) unsure with what I wanted. The stylist (Cassy) really took the time with me to make a decision that would be healthiest for my over processed hair. Between her, the owner Deb and a gentleman by the name of Donn, whom I believe was there on consult, they came up with the perfect color for me. It feels fresh and healthy again! I'm one of those people who can never quite articulate what I want for my hair, so to have them get it right on so many levels speak volumes to me. I have a feeling this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship with Breathe :) read more

Casey did a fantastic job cutting mine and my daughters hair. She was super friendly, listened to what we wanted, and made sure she we very happy with the results. My daughter went from a medium length hairstyle to a shaved hairstyle that resembles ruby rose. I had layers cut into my long hair. We both have super thick naturally curly/frizzy hair. The results were wonderful. read more

I had the WORST experience at Breathe Salon yesterday!! I had scheduled a waxing at 11am. I got there 10 minutes early since I was new and they told me that the girl would get me in a few minutes. So, I sat there, 4 feet from the front desk for the next 20 minutes!! Finally, at 11:20 I went up to the desk and asked if I had my appt time wrong and they said "No, it was at 11...shes just running a little late" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? She wasn't even IN the building and I had already waited half an hour so I said that I was leaving and they didn't apologize or anything. The lady at the desk just asked if I wanted to come back later... Uhhh NO! I'll take my business somewhere else, thank you!! read more

After reading the review of fellow Yelper Valarie, below, I decided to give Breathe Salon a try. I am way overdue for a cut and color, not very articulate about what I want (but very adamant about what I don't), have bern through several local stylists (only to have them move or not meet expectations) and was desperate for a cut/color hours before leaving for a bucket-list European vacation. Although I don't recommend walking in and begging for the moon (and that's really what I did), I could not have been more grateful to the staff at Breathe Salon. The receptionist, Sherry, was super sweet and sympathetic, explaining there were no openings for a three hours. I then asked if I could just get a cut (grey roots are in, right?) and she fit me in for an hour later. Sherry then walked over to another stylist, Debbie, and asked if she would do my color before my haircut appointment. Well, Debbie did just that, squeezing me in between 2 of her regulars. I tell ya, my eyes clouded just a wee bit at the kindness of these women. Leyla came on for her shift and was happy to cut my hair. She listened to what I thought I wanted, listened to what I didn't want, and gave me the perfect, no-fuss cut. The length is perfect, the color vibrant and healthy looking, and I am excited to take my fiery self to Ireland! I am excited to have found a new stylist at a local salon. Being in Breathe was a breath of fresh air! I felt like I was walking into a crowd of long lost friends. Truly, it was like watching a movie where the salon was an integral part of the show. The staff were like family; everyone was friendly, and I felt part of all that. I am more grateful the they could ever know. My fallback plan was to take hair color with me so my hubby could dye it, get a cut in Ireland and hope I didn't get the Sinead O'Connor special, and hope for the best. Instead, four people showed what a little flexibility and a mountain of kindness could do. I would have starred them anyway just for taking the time to fit me in but I LOVE my cut and color too! It was affordable and a great cut! I'll be back soon! read more

I'm new in the area, and visited Breathe on a recommendation from a friend. I went for a trim to my naturally curly hair and highlights. The cut was okay. But I was not pleased with the professionalism of the atmosphere, the stylist's knowledge of her products, or the highlights. I won't make another appointment here. My stylist was fairly young, and did an okay consultation, but rarely spoke to me after that. She chatted with other stylists and their clients and didn't try to engage with me. This made the salon feel super relaxed and very small-town. Especially as a new client, I like the stylist to focus on me, and this seemed unprofessional. She did a good cut. She added layers to my shoulder length hair to make the curl behave better. And it looked nice curly. Although, when I straightened it later at home, some of the layers weren't quite even. I asked for very natural blended highlights, and got 5 distinct blond stripes (granted, narrow ones) down my part line. They have not softened much or grown out well with time. I didn't want my finished cut blown out straight, and asked her to style it curly, so I could see how the cut would behave. She had no idea what products to use, or how to handle naturally curly hair. So she brought over every curly hair product the salon carries, lined it up in front of me, and asked me which ones I wanted her to try. I expect my stylist to be an expert on their product line and was unhappy to be guessing and testing just like I do by myself in the beauty aisle at Meijer. Although I have certainly had worse salon experiences, the staff's behavior, skill, and knowledge fell short of what I am looking for in a salon. read more

My waxing experience with Trisha was great. She was so friendly and professional. She was also very thorough and efficient and you can tell she cares about doing a great job. The room is very calming and relaxing. I was very pleased with how everything turned out and I couldn't recommend her more! You get 50% off of your first service if you are a first time customer. I can't comment on the hair salon side of things since I haven't had my hair done here. read more
