I didn't know adult shaved ice existed until I was recommended to Breakwall! It was hard for me to choose which one to try with having options like mojito, Pina colada, and mango margarita among others. I settled with mojito float (which came with a scoop of ice cream), and it was delicious! Luckily I stopped by here during happy hour. The price was normally $9-$10 and I ended up paying $6. I really struggled with how to rate Breakwall. Not that it really matters but I don't write reviews very often but I really felt that there were a couple things that needed to be addressed. First, the good. All the flavors we had were really good. We are a family of 7 so between all of us, we tried a lot and we liked Breakwall's flavors more than the other places we tried in Lahaina. I also liked their Macadamia Nut ice cream more than the other places we tried. However, neither of these factors were enough to offset the negatives to point that I would choose to go back. Now, the negatives. We went here for the first time a few days ago. There were 3 people in front of us in line and it took 20 minutes to get to order. To be fair, two of the three people ahead of us ordered two shave ice for them and another person so that was 20 minutes for 5 shave ice. Then, we ordered 6 for our family and it took another 20 minutes. So, 40 minutes total to get shave ice. We saw Ululani's go through at least 15 people in less time than that. We went back the next day hoping craving the shave ice but hoping that the line would be a little shorter. Again, 4 people in line and it took 30 minutes to get to us. So, just be prepared to wait if there is any sort of line. The second issue is that they melt really fast. Like, REALLY fast. I get it, it's hot out but why did Ululani's, for example, not melt as fast and not cause such a huge mess? The first time we went, I watched someone order a small and it melted to half the size of what it started at by the time they began eating it. It was a huge mess and dripped everywhere. I felt bad for them. Ours melted too but not quite that fast. We went back then next day and this time, the same thing happened to mine. Half of it dripped all over the floor by the time I could grab a straw, open it and start drinking. Super disappointing. Just know what you are getting into if you do go. Be prepared to wait if there is a line and eat fast. read more

I went here with my friend on Saturday July 29th and when I say this was the absolute worst shaved Ice I've ever had i mean that whole heartedly. This was not true HAWAIIAN SHAVED ICE it was COLONIZED shaved ice. 1. The woman that made our shaved ice only gave the outer layer flavor while the inside was strictly just plain ice with no flavor and for the price you should be able to get what you pay for . They were pretty slow and the shave ice was super icy, I had to chip away at it. Also the flavors were pretty bland. At the end of the bowl there wasn't any flavor, I had high expectations because were in Hawaii. I recommend ululani shave ice, it is much better in every aspect and about the same price. The smoothies are good quality but gotta fix that online ordering cause I paid and didn't get what I ordered and my friend ended up buying a new one lol not okay for my 12$ smoothie but I won't give less than 5 stars cause it was a simple mistake that can be fixed and this is a good place. I think the flavors here are great, the strawberry-guava and the mojito were balanced in terms of sweetness and boldness--even more so they didn't have an artificial taste like every other shave ice location. The ice here is much more coarse and hard than what you expect from Hawaii shave ice, and two people in our party had 1"x1" ice cube(s) like you'd see in restaurant soft drinks. If you don't mind that texture then I definitely recommend the mojito flavor, it was really refreshing. You can't go wrong with an acai bowl. Kombucha is okay, slightly acidic and not carbonated enough for me. If it's their own batch then I understand and it is reasonably priced considering kombucha is 100% overpriced on the islands ($5.50/16oz v. $3-$4/16oz. in CA) read more

SO TASTY!!!!! I went to this place 4 years ago, when it was on another street. It was amazing then as it is now!!!!! I had the grape shaved ice last time, perfect size. Recently, I had the adult shaved ice flavor, strawberry daiquiri, which was like a drink and a snack combined. Each bite, was cold and a tasty heaven. We ordered food from their sister restaurant Down the Hatch, so we shared a large, although you can get a small and massive! The large is $13, and well worth it! Plus a large would be fine for one person if that was all you were going to have. They have a lot of drink options, and even create your own, but when in Maui, get the Mai Tai!!!! Light and Dark rum, a coconut creme drizzled over the top of the shaved ice and macadamian nut ice cream at the base.
