There really aren't enough wonderful things I can say about this place. I have never been more pleased with any business in my entire life. I tend to feel uncomfortable in most public places, I don't really like to sit down anywhere and just relax, but Breaking Grounds has made it possible for me. It's such a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere. The lighting is dull and soft but a large front window draws in so much beautiful natural sunlight. And I won't even get started about the view. They play soft indie-vibe music on Spotify throughout the cafe and have things like boardgames to keep you busy if you need something simple to focus on other than work. The coffee, tea, food and treats are absolutely wonderful. My favorite thing to get is the chicken salad sandwich with Maple potato chips and a London Fog to wash it all down. This is my favorite place I have ever been to. I genuinely hope that they stay open for a very long time. I absolutely love it. read more

What an amazing local business! We came in this afternoon for coffee and snacks and found ourselves not wanting to leave. The cafe has a very relaxed and cool vibe. We loved the coffee, the employees and the amazing example Common Grounds sets as a model for helping empower adults with developmental disabilities while providing an extremely high quality product and value for the local community. My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way to Maine after flying into Boston. We just wanted some coffee and a quick bite - we both agree this place had amazing coffee and sandwiches! We enjoyed it so much that we stopped here again on our way back to the airport after our vacation. Wish we had shops like this in our area! read more

This place is amazing; it's a social enterprise of the NorthEast Arc who help people with disabilities, Breaking Grounds trains and employs people with disabilities so they can gain skills for future employment. As if that wasn't great enough the coffee is out of this world, and the shop is cozy and adorable. Coming into Peabody you will find lots of traffic, and a very jam packed square full of little eateries such as brothers deli, New Mexico thing and more but most people pass up on little coffee shops because there is a dunks around the corner. Parking is limited so if you happen to pass breaking grounds do yourself a favor and stop in because I can guarantee it will change your day. The staff is amazing as they will help you with whatever you are looking for from their endless list of coffee to their amazing homemade sandwiches. I love the #3 which comes standard on a ciabatta roll. Maple sausage with a hash brown, sunny side egg and cheddar with a homemade sweet, mouth watering maple drizzle. This sandwich blew my mind with its combination of tangy sausage and sweet maple glaze. Did I mention it had a hash brown?? For lunch my personal favorite is the Leather city which is a roast beef served on a warm ciabatta roll with homemade horseradish mayo, greens and red onion. I usually pair this with some thankful chips which completely satisfy my taste buds. For coffee, the cortado has to be my favorite as it is just pure coffee. I get that with a pump of French vanilla and drop of milk to lighten it up. You can get any coffee on ice or hot. I've been to a lot of coffee shops such as Mary Lou's, P.S Gourmet, Donna's donuts, heavenly donuts but none can compare to this one. Don't blink as you drive by you will miss it! read more

Sweet little spot. Friendly people working there and it's never too packed which is nice. Their breakfast and lunch sandwiches are delicious. Not a huge fan of their coffee or pastries. Would be great if they got them locally from say A&J King. read more

Went there tonight for the first time. Had a great sandwich of ciabatta bread, tomato, basil and mozzarella cheese. I went there to hear music and was not disappointed. Tonight was the first (hopefully of many) open mike nights. The talent was tremendous! Will definitely go back. This little cafe is doing great things for the community. Thank you! read more
