So let me tell you about the best ice cream sandwich I ever had... I was in the mood for something sweet and found this place through Instagram. We were greeted by Ryan and Jillian who were very polite and patient while we all figured out what we wanted. I ended up with the salted caramel cookie with totally turtle ice cream. The ice cream was good but the star of the show was the cookie. It was crispy on the outside but soft in the middle and it had the perfect amount of salt to balance out the sweetness. Some, if not the best, cookies I've ever had in my entire life. They are unbelievably chewy despite being so huge! The chocolate chip cookies are my go to, but the salted caramel, m&m, and chocolate ones are so delicious. The ice cream sandwiches are incredible. I shipped myself a 6 pack of cookies the other day from the shop, and they came within 2 days and were so fresh and chewy. This place is incredible. Whoever thought of selling cookie ice cream sandwiches is a genius. A wide selection of cookies and ice creams together to make a classic treat... just such a great idea. There were probably 10 or so cookies, ranging from chocolate chunk to smores. All of which looked SO good! Then there are various ice creams to put between the cookies on the sandwich. Nomnomnom. I got a classic chocolate chunk cookie with vanilla ice cream. It was so good!! My only gripe is the price. $5 for the sandwich or $5 for two cookies and a glass of milk. Seems steep. If I lived in the area this would be a rare treat to myself. The cookies are also sold individually and by the half or full dozen (which are boxes up nicely). The cookies are homemade at the store, and while other cookie stores come close, they'll never achieve the care put into these cookies and the tastiness of the final product that Cookie Monstah achieves (Insomnia, I'm looking at you). My personal favorite is the cookie sandwich with peanut butter cookies and chocolate ice cream. While it's a little too big to put in my mouth, it's the best. Different from the trucks, which we've visited on previous visits to Boston, the bake shop has some bake treats, such as pound cake, some cake that smelled sweet and had strawberries in it, and others that rotate on, apparently, a consistent basis. Cookie Monstah opened a new location in my hometown of Needham Massachusetts. Their ice cream is solid. They serve Richardson's which is hard to find in my area. However, from a pure flavor standpoint, the cookie was extremely subpar. I would prefer a toll house cookie that I can simply buy at my local grocery store and heat up in 10 minutes in the comfort of my own home. I'm addition to the underwhelming taste of the cookie, it was too hard for my liking. For example, I ordered an ice cream sandwich and when I took my first bite the cookie was too firm and the ice cream slid out the back. I then had to transfer my ice cream sandwich into a bowl and eat it with a spoon. It is honestly a disgrace to have such average cookies when the word cookie is in the name of the establishment. read more

Both were good although not sure if it was mislabeled but the Oreo stuffed wasn't stuffed with Oreos but with chocolate chips. Still delicious though. We also tried the coffee Oreo ice cream between two cookies sandwich. The ice cream was amazing. I think it's from Richardson's as I've seen that listed on their flavor board. The two cookies were just okay. Trying to eat it as an ice cream sandwich really didn't work but the flavors together were decadent. Prices are good - we didn't pay more than we expected for three quality items. Service was nice - the woman behind the counter was able to recommend some cookie choices. Ice cream and two cookies on the side. The man that waited on my sister and I was dry as hell and rude. He completely disagreed with what I wanted and rudely went on to tell me "well that's not a sandwich" after going back and forth with him over my order my sister took over because she could see I was visibly getting irritated. We originally ordered our ice cream to have there but after we got it I wish we got it to go. Our order wasn't enjoyable anymore. While we sat and had our ice cream we got to witness the same guy being rude to some more customers. My husband and I went in this afternoon and were so impressed by everything that this little shop had to offer. We each made a cookie sandwich, my only complaint would be the limited ice cream flavors. My two favorites are cookie dough and chocolate chip and they did not have either.
