I love local bakeries. In fairness, I've ONLY ordered once from here. It was an apple pie for Thanksgiving. I don't eat it, so I can't say, but everyone agreed it was mediocre, at best. I was shocked. I heard so much about this place and it was stunningly beautiful. It was $17, which I thought was reasonable for that beauty. Apparently it was just meh. I also tried a sample of the lemon bar while there and it wasn't very good, so I didn't buy one. I will probably try the baked goods again sometime and report. We were EXTREMELY disappointed with the cake. The cake was so dense you couldn't cut through it. We asked for a lemon cake and it came plain. It was like they took some frozen cake that had been in the freezer for a while and through it together. It literally ruined the party. They serve up Carpe Diem Coffee, which is a good dark roast coffee. The pastries and cookies are enough to satisfy a sweet tooth but also get you going in the morning. The interior is cute with an industrial print shop flair, which I kinda love, a lot. Prices are decent. For $6 you can leave 2with coffee and a scone. For a little more you can leave with coffee, a scone, and an after lunch treat. There is very little seating. Outside they have a couple of little tables and chairs and inside one or two. Parking can be had at the MBTA garage across the street or on the street... Which we all know is going to be a pain in the rear. Good stuff at good prices. read more

I had to order cookies for a surprise engagement party on short notice. I inquired at about 4 places in/around Boston and Taryn was the first person to get back to me. She was extremely thorough, prompt, sweet and polite with every response. When we spoke on the phone she understood our vision and gave great input/advice. We designed custom ring cookies with the engagement date in the middle and they were absolutely delicious! She suggested we use some edible glitter for the ring so they sparkled and sprayed a light glaze over the entire ring so they looked shiney - we loved it!
