    Persian love cake

I had heard great things about Kim's pastries and looking at the winding line at the Roslindale Farmer's Market, I was convinced I'd be in for a treat. But sadly, I was disappointed, not once but twice. The first time around, we tried a coconut scone. It was....ok. Dry, not sweet, honestly a little bland. Wouldn't order it again. So the next time, we went for something called the Persian love cake. It sounded and looked amazing. But again, the taste did not level up. There was some spice in it which was just too much, and left a bitter after taste. When I first bought it, I wondered if one tiny cake would be enough (although it cost $9...err). Everyone in the party tried a bite, didn't want any seconds, and we had to compost half of it. So second attempt wasn't a win either. Three stars because I'm still open to trying them out one more time. Looking at the other rave reviews, I'd say there's something great I haven't tried yet.

Pure Pastry is and always will be a part of our big moments in life. Pure Pasty has been at our wedding, our baby shower, all of our birthdays and all of our holidays. We look forward to Pure Pastry being at every event. I have celiac disease and my husband does not. We have had gluten free and non gluten free desserts. Everything from this company is delicious, unique and beautiful. No matter who you speak with from Pure Pastry everyone is kind and willing to help you.

I was able to get a few things while visiting Salem. Everything was great and the lady working was very sweet and helpful! Would definitely recommend!

One of Beverly's best kept secrets. If you are looking for delicious pastry and treats you have found it. Kim has vegan, gluten free, dairy free... And regular baked goods but so much care and thought has gone into them. My wife and I have gone a few times now and always end up in a conversation with Kim. She raises her own chickens and doesn't use refined sugar. She makes her own Maple sugar... You are talking serious dedication but it definitely shows in her work. The peppermint patties, the truffles, the cookies, biscotti, muffins... All so good!! The menu does change so I recommend going for a look! It is in a home, the bakery is on the ground level and there is a sign at her door. Enjoy!

    Kim and happy customer!

Greatly enjoyed Kim's desserts at the Change is Simple event last night! She donated hundreds of pastries for the event. Thanks Kim!

We had one of Kim's carrot cakes to celebrate a birthday, and it was amazing. Thank you, Kim!

Best Brownie I have had in a long time. I got the mint brownie and it literally melts in your mouth. The middle was so gooey and amazing.

I was visiting beautiful downtown Beverly and searching for a spot with great coffee and (fingers…read morecrossed) some gluten-free pastries. I found Crave through the Find Me Gluten-Free app, and the high ratings definitely lived up to the hype! It was just a quick, easy drive, and the bakery was easy to spot. Inside, it's super cute, clean, and welcoming. The menu was surprisingly full of gluten-free options--from breakfast sandwiches to coffee drinks--and their pastry case had about 8-10 different gluten-free and/or dairy-free goodies. I went with the blueberry lemon scone and WOW. It was unreal. Moist and cake-like (not dry and crumbly like many GF scones), with a light glaze and a perfect lemony-sweet flavor. I literally almost cried--it was that good. I savored every bite and was honestly glad I don't live closer, or I'd be there every single day. I also grabbed a cold brew, which they brew in-house and serve on tap. It was strong, smooth, and delicious--just how I like it. Whether you're gluten-free by choice or necessity, Crave is a must-visit. Friendly staff, delicious options, and a cozy vibe--what more could you want? Do yourself a favor and stop in. You won't be disappointed!

We were in the middle of placing an order and they shut down their online system for 15 minutes. So we waited. Two egg sandwiches, one croissant, a coffee with an espresso shot, a hot latte and a chai tea latte. Nothing unusual. Their system said the order would be ready two minutes after it was placed. That's just silly, so we waited 10 minutes before heading over. We arrived and picked up our bag with all the items listed on the receipt and headed back. Turns out, two items were missing that we had already paid for. We now headed back once again to Crave. We thought that maybe we forgot a bag, but no, they just failed to add two items and let us leave. "We tried to call you but your line was busy," was the answer, but that's simply not true. I wasn't on the phone and I have a cell phone -- busy signals do not apply. There was no record of an incoming call either. The attitude of staff was not apologetic whatsoever. A simple, "We're so sorry" would have sufficed. One of the items we had ordered was now out of stock. In fact, one staff member said, "You're the third customer today who didn't get their cinammon croissant," which only revealed the failure of their ordering process. With limited options, we chose the Nutella croissant as a substitute. Returned home and finally ate. One sandwich was delicious (bacon-egg-cheese on a ciabatta roll) but the other had sriracha instead of ketchup as requested -- made a big difference in taste which we did not like. The replacement pastry we were forced to choose tasted very stale and not so much of Nutella. Coffee with a shot and the latte didn't taste particularly strong. Iced chai latte was fine, but nothing to write home about. Not worth $54 -- including a tip for staff that we wished we could rescind. Would NOT return, especially not with all the breakfast options in Beverly. Hard pass.

If I'm being completely honest we expected the food to be ok but not the best as that's typically how places like this are. We were so wrong!! We started with the mozzarella sticks and they were out of this world. Next up was Caesar salads; not the best but still good- they needed more dressing and it needed to be a creamier dressing but the lettuce blend was fresh and they put a ton of cheese and croutons. Unfortunately we had to take our dinners to go as we were running short on time. We should have planned to have been there longer; this was the only issue we had. Unfortunately they only had two servers and they were slammed. The food was great but the service just too long. If we didn't have somewhere to be we wouldn't have been phased by it; we wouldn't have even noticed how long everything took because we were so immersed in the environment. When we got home we had our dinners and again we were expecting them to just be ok because we were heating them up. Again we were wrong! I had the short rib sandwich and it was AMAZING, loaded with onions and mushrooms it was crazy good. My husband had the steak tips and again phenomenal. We will definitely be back when we have nothing to do afterwards. *I'd like to add the staff was great just very busy!
