The most amazing place if you are looking for real food that is made from mostly local ingredients with everything from scratch. They are known for the sourdough of course, which is wonderful in all forms, BUT you need to expand from there. Their breakfast sandwiches are made with a light soufflé kind of egg cheese inside that is so yummy and of course it is on their brioche bun. They have sandwiches that are just too die for. A ham and brie on. French baguette which is great. I don't eat ham and something about this is really good. Bread all chewy which I love. They had a winter special sandwich which had sweet potatoes and apple slices and is delish. Also a turkey bacon apple sandwich, I think that it is, where the bacon pieces are large. Really good. Lots of pastries of course. Great cookies, blueberry muffins, cardamom buns, savory items in pastry area also which is also a treat. So much. Great shortbread, and more. Everything was delicious and the service was great! Tried a chive scone, bacon egg and cheese sandwich, cinnamon roll, brownie, and a seasonal pastry. Also got a hot chai. Warming up the cinnamon roll really brought out the flavors. All the treats were throughly enjoyed throughout a weekend and maintained their freshness. Would deff visit again to try more. read more

Nice bakery with plenty of choices from many styles of sourdough breads to a variety of patisserie and unusual cookies. Unfortunatley didn't get to try a lot but the croissant dough donut (not cronut shaped, just a round ball) was delicious. Also got a giant brioche which at $8 was a deal and very good. I came to Bonny Breads after finding out they made the cardamom buns I tried at a coffee shop nearby. They are hands down my favorite pastry from them. Sometimes they're sold out when I go, so I've tried some other pastries too. The currant buttermilk scone is particularly good in terms of texture and flavor. I've only had their coffee once and I was rather disappointed. I got a large iced cardamom latte with oat milk which was $8. The drink was rather small for a large, mostly ice and milk, no hardly any espresso flavor and more of a caramel flavor than cardamom. If I were to try their coffee again I would go with something more simple. Unfortunately the entrance is not accessible if you have a wheelchair or stroller as there is a step leading to the door. It can be hard to get in and out when it's busy and there is a line. There are some tables inside but it's quite cramped since the place is small. On the plus side, staff are friendly and the prices for the pastries and bread are reasonable for a bakery. Most of all I'm grateful for this place for introducing me to what has become one of my favorite pastries. read more

I've enjoyed Bonny's delicious bread and pastries since they first opened. They've recently added lunch sandwiches to their menu and they are AMAZING! The sandwiches are all made on different varieties of their homemade bread and they rotate the fillings/options frequently--there's always a creative vegetarian sandwich option and they also have tasty quiches with perfect crust and topped focaccias (sort of like mini pizzas). I'm a sucker for house made syrups for coffees and love their seasonal selections. All of their sandwiches are premade which makes ordering quick and easy. Everything they make here is amazing. Have you ever had a breakfast sandwich or a danish that makes you curse out loud because it's so good? That's what they are serving up here! The bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a brioche bun is heavenly, their croissants are world class (ham and cheese and almond are my faves), breads are amazing (babka, amber sourdough, semolina), and their seasonal specials like cheesecake blueberry danish make my day. I was in town visiting for a wedding. I was quite happy with my experience at Bonny Breads! The cinnamon roll had the most delicious frosting, cream cheese I presumed? It was on the drier side but the flavor was there and it was tasty nonetheless. I had to get the ham and gruyere croissant as well, I was so happy that I did! It's a cute and clean little shop; a great stop before walking around town. Service was good but it can get quite busy, so patience is key.. but it's worth it!! read more

This place is incredible and the 1 star and 3 star reviews make me sad. Please ignore those. The owner and team are incredible and they make EVERYTHING! Absolutely outstanding, fresh and delicious food. Good food isn't cheap and I do think based on the quality of the ingredients and time it takes to make baked goods from scratch, everything is reasonably priced. The $7 price complaint on the breakfast sandwich from the 3 star review - I think an Egg McMuffin is probably close to $5 and all of that is completely processed. Size isn't everything when the quality of the food is worth spending the money. I recommend grabbing food and drink from Bonny Breads and strolling on down to Dane St Beach or Independence Park and have yourself a day :) read more

OK, I'm a big fan of Bonny Bread, and they make great product, but this morning I picked up a bacon, cheese and egg breakfast sandwich. The cost was $7.17, and I've attached a photo with a lime for scale. I did not tip; why would I tip for someone handing me a pre-made sandwich? I went to the opening of Bonny this weekend, having purchased their bread at farmers markets and loved it. I was not disappointed. Next door to Tartine (in the old Dunkin' spot), they've made a LOVELY neighborhood bakery. Loaves of freshmen baked breads like sourdough, brioche, baguette, a cherry muesli, so many yummy treats. I got a sourdough for a neighbor and a cherry muesli for myself. I grabbed a coffee and a bag of wonderful pastry--I'm sitting here the next day eating scones (buttermilk currant, pecan fig) and they are crumbly and delicious. The best scone I've had in ages! I also got the cinnamon roll that's taunting me from the counter. They had sticky buns, shortbread, quiche, muffins--just all looks so good. I can't wait to go back and try one of everything. So happy they've landed on a permanent spot and have opened a sweet, kind little spot on Cabot! Woo hoo! read more

I won't buy any other kind of bread as nothing else measures up! The Bonny Bread crumb is spectacular and delightful--soft and stretchy--and the flavour is, always, extraordinary! OMGoodness!! I'm from the south and know good food for sure. The cardamon rolls and the Spelt Bread are two of my favs as recommended from Colleen. Her warm personality makes it all the better =) Also, the coffee is not bad at all ! I have yet to try the cinnamon rolls that sell out daily...gotta get there by 0800hrs, I think.
