Large servings, good service, and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the outdoor seating during Covid, and there was no wait at 10am on a weekday. read more

This place would have been nice to try but unfortunately after waiting 30 mins in line just to check in and not moving and hearing all the people walking out complaining about lack of table service was enough for me to leave without trying this place. The hostess definitely needs help, he should not be taking bills from tables and constantly walking away to check for open tables. Definitely takes him away from getting people checked in. read more

The food is incredible. The service is awful. The ambience is amazing. Will be coming back every week.

A shout out to Max for service with a smile . He really made my friend and I feel welcome and gave helpful input when I was making a decision from so many fine options. My meal was great. Will be back to try other items on menu :) read more

I used to *love* this place but this recent order killed my good feeling. 1. Ordered for take out and everything was wrong: the breakfast sammie was a soggy mess, impossible to hold, fell apart in my hands and not even cut in half (it's a sandwich, not a foot long! Cut it in half!!) if I wanted a scramble or mashed up mush, I would have ordered something like that. Soggy bacon that looks like it went through the rinse cycle in the dishwasher? Gross!! 2. The coffee: ordered house coffee and it wasn't ready when they handed me my food. Took another 15 minutes. This was not a fancy coffee, no flavors or toppings or foam or any of that, and shoulda been ready with the food. See point #1. Did I mention my "sammie" was a soggy mess? Sandwiches have a predictable form and are generally expected to hold together. Not a big ask. And house coffee is not much harder to prepare than instant. Did I mention I tipped this place $10 for some post-COVID small business feel good vibes before all this went down? Yup, not feeling so good about that either. Get it together BR. read more

I really wanted to love this place because I love breakfast but it just wasn't very good. Service was ok not great. Ambiance - very loud inside. Food - meh. Potatoes were dry and flavorless, eggs not cooked well and pancakes were disappointing flavor wise as some bites were good and others not. Seems they just put topping on the pancake and no flavor inside. Coffee was the best part of our meal! Didn't try any other beverages. Will not go back as too expensive for what you get. read more

Food is very delicious. Staff is friendly. My husband learned about this place through Instagram so we decided to give it a try. After a 45min drive and an hour and a half wait to be seated....we were going to find out if the wait was worth it. Food presentation was on point, what you see on the pictures is exactly what you get. I got the chilaquiles which I'm used to them being a bit more saucy, spicy and soft. I didnt mind the crunchiness at all and thought they were very delicious. The beans and rice were good and my sunny side up eggs were perfect. My husband got the San Diego Benedict, which he kept saying they were delicious. Last but not least we could t leave without out trying their French toast, which are very luring on their Instagram page. We decided on getting the Banana Split French Toast which were recommended by our waitress. No disappointment!!! It was delicious!! The ice cream went very well with the toasty toast...I would definitely recommend this place. read more

I don't recommend this restaurant to anybody! Service was absolutely terrible. The host didn't know what they were doing and the host/servers are not the most hospitable. My server was actually very rude to us and seemed to have an attitude problem. The food was also mid and our drinks took way too long to get delivered since we were close to finishing our meals by the time they arrived! read more

I've been eyeing this brunch spot for over a year now but the wait time was always too long and for good reason. There's a cute poster outside the door with Christopher Walken's face on it, which reads "No reservations. Walkens only". Point noted. During COVID, the place is still busy but at least we got a table in 15 minutes. That allowed me to do some quick shopping at Target nearby. Everyone at Breakfast Republic was very friendly. They have a nice, cool, patio and there are screens separating guests so you can feel comfortable during the current COVID crisis. We ordered the jalapeño bacon cheddar sausage omelette and the same in a scramble and it was very good and left me very happy. Because I have a sweet tooth, we ordered a lemon coconut pancake side to substitute for the bread. Great decision because the pancake was just perfect and satisfied my sweet craving. I'm already making plans to go back and have it again. The surprise star of the day was the humble jam that came with my toast. They make it in house (they also make the hot sauce in house, also very good) and I was ready to lick my plate where the jam was, clean, but I stopped myself, much to my husband's relief. Overall, I can't wait to go back and do this dreamy brunch all over again. I'll probably order the exact same items again ! read more

Breakfast Republic - Jalapeño bacon cheddar omelette and scramble, lemon coconut pancakes. All were a 5/5. The star though, was the humble jam (made in house). - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Irvine, California

Rude Service + Mediocre Food= Never Again! Today my wife and I visited Breakfast Republic with friends that drove down from the Los Angeles area. My wife selected Breakfast Republic as the venue for our brunch get together since our first visit over a year ago was a pleasant one that exceeded our expectations. Unfortunately, they no longer provide the same level of service that we remember. Our server, Gloria, was very rude from the beginning. We were not seated for that long, maybe 3-5 minutes, when Gloria seemed to be anxious for us to place our order. My wife and I just greeted our friends and didn't have an opportunity to even review the menu. Gloria hovered over our friend's shoulder which prompted our friend to ask, "Looks like you want us to order now." to which she replied, "Yes." We placed our rushed order without the opportunity to fully review our options. Our food came out and as we were still conversing with our friends, nearing the end of our meal, Gloria uninvitingly placed to-go boxes next to my wife and I. We weren't even finished with our meals or ready to leave. She then placed the bill at the center of the table. She came back a couple minutes later asking, "Are you ready to pay?" Wow! I looked around and there were still empty tables around us. We were only there for an hour at most. We were not loud or rowdy by any means so I am confused as to why we were not welcome. Our bill was over a hundred dollars for four individuals. In my opinion, we would've been better off going elsewhere to spend that kind of money. She definitely didn't deserve the tip that we left as the service level didn't warrant it. This is an opportunity for Breakfast Republic to properly train its staff on customer service. It is unfortunate, however, that even if they do, I think the image we have of them is tarnished to the point that we'll never return. Great food will have customers come, but great service will ensure that customers come back. Breakfast Republic fell well short of great service. I would never subject my friends or family to that type of treatment again. read more

We tried this place for the first time today and were very disappointed. The service was terrible. It took forever for them to take our order. Now one came back and asked how we were doing or if we wanted a coffee refill. The food do come quickly and it was OK, but nothing spectacular. It was over priced for what we got. It is mostly a college kid hang out, not really a place to go for a yummy breakfast. read more

Gloria cares for costumers , she helps us today and we are very happy the is also a good busser he is in his 45

Our server was Brittney and she was super attentive and gave my dog treats and water without being asked!

Food was very average. We got the American (with sausage, scrambled eggs and English muffin), crab n crawfish benedict and banana split french toast. I wouldn't wait 40 mins. read more

I liked the breakfast burger and the breakfast potatoes were good. I'd like the choice of fries or potatoes but I'd have it again

my favorite breakfast place in Irvine. easy location. great coffee. lazy breakfast spot with a fine patio.

I've been to the San Diego and Irvine location and love both! I had the breakfast burrito in SD and steak & eggs in Irvine. The chimichurri was sooo good. I wish there was more steak but it was still perfectly cooked and delicious. The server, Sunshine, was one of the sweetest women I've ever met and happily replaced my friend's drink for free after she didn't enjoy the first one! I highly recommend this place. read more

Cute patio! We had really great time there and the breakfast was delicious! Def recommended!

This morning my party of four and I went to this place to get some good breakfast to compensate for the night before! We were helped out by Sunshine She was super sweet and very informative on the menu. My dad wasn't sure between the jalapeño omelette or the chicken fennel and Sunshine recommended the jalapeño one and he loved it! Overall, our experience was great here and I can't wait to come back again! read more

Visited this spot on my day off work and made the trek down to Irvine at the University Town Center. Brunch is my favorite meal, and when I picture brunch, it's definitely just like the plates served at Breakfast Republic. Staff were fully masked and seating guests with more than 6 ft apart, so I wasn't too uncomfortable dining indoors (as allowed in OC). I ordered a chicken fennel sausage omelet, while my boyfriend ordered the protein lover's scramble. The seasonal vegan carrot cake pancakes also caught our eye, so we ordered a side of them to share. Everything was super fresh and delicious--we were stuffed and barely had room left for our pancakes, but we managed to squeeze them in. SUPER yummy considering they're vegan! The caramelized walnuts on top are HEAVENLY. And staff was super friendly and checked up on us regularly. The food did take quite some time to come out though, considering the place wasn't busy. But other than that, I absolutely loved my visit at Breakfast Republic and love the decor (especially the cute egg chairs). Hands down, a top notch brunch spot in the OC! read more

Used to be our favorite spot before all the staff got replaced recently. Service has been poor due to being understaffed. Just went in yesterday to give it another go, and we were told it would be a 30min wait just to put our name down. Hope to be able to return to this location once staffing improves. Food is great. read more

We had an early Saturday breakfast here. It was pretty empty when we went but service was surprisingly slow. Not sure if they were short staffed as we hardly saw our server - my friend had to go look for someone to bring her fresh coffee. The house potatoes that came with our meal were not hot and neither was the coffee. My California burger was tasty and filling and the rest of the menu looked good but the slow service has me reluctant to go back. read more

Kinda pricey, but what isn't? Good food. Attentive service. Nice outdoor patio. The staff understandably hates all the birds waiting for customers to leave or drop food. Cheeky monkeys! I'm sure they're annoying, but I love birds! read more

We found this place when searching on Yelp for somewhere good to go! Great parking, and next to TARGET, heyyyoooo! We enjoyed brunch here on this lovely Sunday at the bar and Eric & Brittney were AMAZING. We were greeted as we say and we enjoyed a fun, entertaining, and enjoyable & DELICIOUS breakfast/brunch. We started with the Bottle of Champagne and OJ! My boyfriend enjoyed the Traditional Eggs Benedict with avocado and tomato. I enjoyed the Steak and Eggs and it was PERFECTION! The presentation, the drinks, the food, the people, the HOT SAUCE, all ON POINT! We will be coming back here every weekend! 10/10 5STARS read more

This place is THE BOMB Beware - If you come on the weekend , there will be a wait . My boyfriend & I got here around 11am on a Sunday and waited about 70 minutes for a table . However , once we were inside & ordered , our food came in under 10 minutes . My boyfriend got a hot chocolate which looked AMAZING and I ordered a lemonade (Which was a little too watered down for my taste) . To eat , I had the Turkey Meatloaf Hash which was great - I really enjoyed the pesto sauce ! I also recommend the house hot sauce ... As someone who is sensitive to heat , I loved the kick it gave without my mouth burning down ! My boyfriend was able to sub out the shrimp for linguine sausage (he's allergic) in the shrimp and grits & loved that as well ! Our waitress was quick & very nice . Sad I don't live in the area but will definitely have to come here again ! read more

I usually go to the Breakfast Republic down in San Diego. I didn't think this branch would be much different. The food was just okay, however my biggest complaint was the piss poor service. Waitress would not circle back to our table, we had to keep flagging her down or one of the other service people to help us. She couldn't even bother to ask if we wanted refills, creamer, other condiments, etc. By the time she brought back X, Y, & Z majority of our food was already cold. I'd like to add that the place was not packed and many workers were just standing around gossiping. Of course we still tipped our server even thought we felt it wasn't deserved. Won't be coming back to this location. ‍ read more

Service is great but the food is even better. Appealing to the eye and soothing to the stomach. I've tried most of the things on the menu and none of it disappoints. I think I come here every time I'm in the area. The wait time can be a little long at times but it's worth the wait. read more

Had heard nothing but positive reviews so we decided to give it a try. Staff is friendly and the wait wasn't too long, especially since we had a party of 8. Orange juice was freshly squeezed! Food was amazing. Was hesitant to try the chilaquiles since nothing measures up to moms lol but everyone loved them! The sauce was fresh and the chips had some crunch instead of just being soggy. Traditional eggs Benedict is my go to, flavor was amazing, just wished the egg would have been cooked a little less since they came out almost hard boiled and not runny like they should be. We were short on time or else I would have sent them back, which I know wouldn't have been a problem since out waitress was so nice. We will definitely be back. read more

We came at the wrong time and had a longer wait... BUT, it was worth it. Jakhari totally took care of us. We brought a guest who wasn't happy with their meal and it was replaced, they also weren't happy with their drink and it was replaced. My husband and I loved our food! I got the shrimp and crab Benedict, Danny got the mushroom pesto Benedict and we shared a pancake flight between the three of us. We also had the Bloody Mary again and Danny got a Mexican Latte and it was fantastic!!! read more

I'm never displeased w/Breakfast Republic. The only gripe i would have is how they stopped serving the lavender pancakes. On a mini moon, my wife and I tried Breakfast Republic for the 1st x & I took a chance on the lavender pancakes. It was THE best pancakes ever. To our disappointment in driving from long beach to sam diego specifically to Breakfast Republic for the lavender pancakes... i found out it was seasonal. Every time we go there, we always ask the server and every server continues to say "that was a popular and people still ask about it". I always wondered why restaurants discontinue something in which is popular. The crab Benedict is always my go to at this spot. read more

UPGRADE YOUR POTATOES. HOLY. I never thought that Brussels sprouts with bacon mixed into your potatoes could be so good. It was amazing. The Benedict with crab and crawfish was good but the jam they use kinda counteracts with the fishy flavor not my favorite. The protein scramble was full and jam packed with meat. Their Bloody Mary was YUMMY. We all got the Jurassic Bloody Mary which came with extras super good. Only downside was we got our food before our drinks and didn't even have silverware for like 5 min while our food was sitting there. It was cold by the time we got it. But overall good. Cameron was our server and he was super awesome. read more
