100% came here for dancing in hopes of replicating my favorite DC/Arlington dance bars. On Friday, the DJ was great, and we danced our hearts out. The problem, barely anyone else was dancing. I have no problem with everyone looking at me, but for other people they may be uncomfortable... nothing like liquid courage. It was super fun and seems to be the only place in the area.

Been here once with a party with my fellow coworkers. Nice time. The pool tables are cool. Otherwise, it is a bar so it is "a-ok".

Anyone go there for paint nite? Is a safe place for female?

Not sure about paint night, but it is safe for a female in my opinion. I have never seen anything bad happen there with females!

Burger Review: The Fat Elvis Is King! I came here purely for…read morea gathering of friends not planning to eat but after peeking at their menu and seeing their burger options I felt the need to try them out. Lots of options but the one that really stood out to me was one called "Fat Elvis", which comes stacked with American and cheddar cheese, spicy candied bacon, banana compote, and peanut butter. Yes, you read that right--peanut butter. This ain't my first rodeo trying peanut on a burger so trust me when I say somehow, it totally works. The sweet-and-savory combo is bold, a little outrageous, and absolutely delicious. The banana compote adds a warm, caramelized depth, the bacon brings a little heat and crunch, and the peanut butter ties it all together in the richest, most unexpected way. The patties themselves were juicy and cooked just right, and the bun held everything together without getting soggy. Bonus points for the generous portion--it's a two-hander for sure. I opted for a side salad instead of fries (balance, right?) and even that was fresh and full of color, topped with shredded cheese, red onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, and crunchy croutons. The ranch dressing was a little thin and not quite as creamy as I'm used to but was good. Check out my photos if you want a visual warning of what you're getting into. Spoiler: it's a glorious mess, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. If you're into Elvis, wild flavor combos, or just love a burger that dares to be different, you need to try this. Side note: ended up ordering a bunch more food to go that I didn't get pictures of, wife got a CYO burger she devoured, I ordered some of their tacos which while a little pricey, the portion size and flavor of the quesabirria ones made up for it, even tried out some of their wings with the smoked lemon pepper dry rub and we're pretty solid even warmed up the next day. Lots of food options and may end up going back sometime to try some more things out. Service was great as well, place was jam packed but they had plenty of staff to stay attentive and keep things moving.

Plenty of parking outside the front. The service is great…read more The food is bar food ( fries, wings, burgers). Great music inside. A super chill bar to hang out with friends and have a great time. Never any issues. Never seen a fight. And staff and security guards are super helpful.

Recently both the quality of the food and the service has deteriorated. When we had dinner there in early April I had Spanakopita and Grilled Shrimp, while my wife had Grilled Bronzini. While my dinner was satisfactory the Bronzini was bland and watery. This was probably due to a grill that wasn't hot enough, and the fish was steamed rather than grilled. With Bronzini high heat is essential to obtain a smoky flavor with a crisp skin. Also, the number of waiters and servers was insufficient, and we had to wait a long time to place our order, receive our food and get the check at the end of our meal. We had dinner there again this weekend and I again had Spanakopita along with a Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken, and my wife again had the Bronzini and Beignet for desert. This time the Bronzini was over cooked and the skin was charred. She should have sent it back to the kitchen, but after waiting over 45 minutes to get our food we were both rather hungry. Beignet is a deep-fried pastry of French origin that is most frequently associated with New Orleans Creole cuisine. It is made from yeast-leavened dough and deep-fried. When properly prepared it is crisp on the outside and airy on the inside and is covered with powdered sugar and served hot. My wife has had Beignet many times at Kalypso's and thoroughly enjoyed it. This time it was awful lumps of fried dough covered with sugar. And again the waiters and servers were significantly understaffed. We had to wait for 30 minutes to place our orders, and while our waiter was polite and helpful this was unacceptable. While I understand a long wait at a busy restaurant with a large number of patrons this wasn't the case. As we were driving home from dinner we decided this would be the last time we would eat at Kalypso's. This is unfortunate, because in the past it was a very nice place for casual dining.
