Hey Cassie, we enjoyed our escape room. Thank you. Over a year ago Yelp introduced me to my first and Reno's first escape room - Break Through Reno. Since then, I have convinced a small group of coworkers to become very addicted to escape rooms like I have. BTR is just a few blocks from our office. So it is perfect for our group to test our skills after work. Recently, we tried the new room, Apartment 13, which has replaced The Mask. I booked our room and time online at breakthroughreno.com. I was also able to prepay with credit card at that time too. So 15 minutes before our time, we check in, Cassie greeted us and had us sign waivers, and presented us the video giving background info on the room. So very glad she asked how many rooms we have done. Because she offered us an extended version of the room. We loved it !! We also enjoyed the technology we encountered, very cool. BTR offers four different rooms and seem to be starting to change their scenarios. So if you have done all the rooms in the past year, you should check out new rooms. I prefer our small group of four. I find bigger groups can sometimes get in each other's way, especially if there are smaller multiple rooms. Too many people can also make it hard to share the clues and hear what's going on. Parking is a breeze, as the lot for the area shops is quite large. And businesses in the square all have varying hours. At $23 a person, I dare you to put a team together and try to ESCAPE. read more

Went here with my girlfriend and we did the U-boat escape. Rylee made the experience much better with her helpful and friendly personality. What a fabulous and fun adventure for the whole family! Imagine using your brain to figure out intriguing puzzles. What's better than that? Spending time with friends and family, of course. Incidentally, my family came here for my son's birthday. Needless to say, we all adore mental puzzles and enjoy spending time together. All in all, we had a great time and made it out just with minutes to spare. Indeed if you like trying to solve beguiling and thought-provoking puzzles this is the recreational event for you. When you visit the GSR schedule a time for the escape room, you won't be disappointed. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. We had an awesome time. We chose The Centrurion Heist and broke into three rooms. So much fun. Be prepared to use your math skills for this room. Rachael was our concierge and she was a great sport. The review is a little late but necessary! We scheduled the Centurion Heist for August 17, expert mode. My 2 sibs and I had all done an escape room before but my uncle had not and didn't know what to expect. Atlas was amazing as a game master! It was so difficult but once we got on a roll we had it going! As time ticked down, we only had a few more puzzles to complete. Atlas walked in, we asked how many we had left and how to solve the one we were stuck on, we realized one prop was out of place so we were given a few extra minutes to try and complete the room! We left after we finished, walked halfway down the hall and turned around to book another room. Tip: U Boat is the hardest room. Still super fun, but definitely difficult! Our family did this escape room and what a gem! We like the brain teasers that we had to figure out. Our family did the heist theme room and it was a great surprise that we actually escaped with 1 min and 20 secs! Everything laid out and no mistakes in preparing the room either, (our last escape room had a detail on clock with incorrect #) If staying for a weekend, go online and prepare ahead to save time with waivers and prefered time for your experience. We did the Scull & Scepter room. Very well functioning room! Everything worked how it was supposed to, and we especially liked how the things that matched were obvious. Other rooms I've been to weren't so clear and you wasted lots of time running around praying to find a match trying every combination possible. Also, the clues that were given to you were very efficient. Essentially, the language of the clues was very clear. Also, it was a nice level of difficulty - not super easy but not impossible. Solid easy to moderate puzzle. Caden was our game master and he was very clear, not judgmental, and helpful when we needed clues. He clearly knew the rooms well and knew exactly how we needed help. read more

This Yelp review is for the branch located at the Grand Sierra Resort. First of all I have to mention, this is the second escape room I have done in Reno and like the other one, this does not disappoint! Our reservations were for 7:15 and our hostess Cassie I believe her name was, was just as amazing as our host at another venue. I love the costumes they wear for the old hotel and bell service, it's totally cute. So yes, it located downstairs across from the arcade in GSR. Super convenient since that is where we stay when in Reno. When you walk in, as I mentioned it is themed like an old hotel with a bell person up front. They have different types of rooms and I just have to tell you without giving anything away, don't let the entrance fool you. It may look small, but there are many surprises, at least for the one we did. They also have a regular mode and challenge mode for those of you who consider themselves experts. My family and I will definitely be coming back to do more and I suggest you go and try it out too. Make sure to make reservations ahead of time because it gets pretty filled up. read more

We attempted the Diamond heist room with just the two of us ( myself and my adult daughter ) and while we did very well - we still failed to find the last 3 clues in time to avoid arrest. Terrible Service. They allowed us to schedule at time during and an event where no parking would be available. Wouldn't allow a refund or reschedule. Since the possibility of finding parking might happen. Poor way to run a business. read more

This was such a great experience! Our Game Master was nice, friendly and helpful. Our group of 6 had 2 experienced escape artists and 4 newbies. He definitely made us feel comfortable and excited to start the experience. For starters, make sure you call ahead and set an appointment. The Game Masters (GM) have to physically reset all of the clues for every experience so you want them to be ready for you! When we arrived, we were led into a back room where everyone had to sign waivers since you are indeed being locked in a room. At this point you can go to the bathroom, and lock up any extra belongings in provided lockers that you don't want to take with you into the room like purses or your phone (which they ask that you don't use in the room and spoil the experience for others by posting pictures). The GM then gives a brief intro about the general rules (what not to touch, what you can touch, what not to break etc.) and you watch a video about the "mission." Our group did the NINJA Protocol and went in with a goal to break the fastest time record of approximately 27 mins with a maximum of 3 clues from the GM. If you do set the record, your ENTIRE group gets free T-shirts! Unfortunately for our group, while we did get out with 20 minutes of the 1 hour time to spare, and only used 2 clues, we did not set the record for free shirts. A note, there are no limits to clues if you are not trying to set the record! The only thing keeping you from endless clues is your own pride! At the end of the experience we successfully escaped and took our group victory picture! This was so much fun and I was already looking forward to going back again and trying the other rooms. Don't forget to check-in with Yelp for a little goodie! Will definitely be back! read more

Went here with a group of friends. I think the price was reasonable(about what you would pay for movie and a popcorn) We did apartment 13. If no one else is waiting i wish they had a feature to pay more to keep going if you have not solved the room (which we had not). Other than ending before we solved it (we were sooooo close) I had a great time and we all laughed a lot. I will go here again and choose a different puzzle. read more
