This is a hidden gem! A friend recommended we try it, and we couldn't have been more impressed…read more My only complaint is the name - it doesn't sound like restaurant and it's hard to remember! The food was amazing! And very reasonable. And the service was excellent. They make great sandwiches and pair them with the most amazing salads! Or, if you prefer, you can just get the salad. There were four of us for lunch, and we each got something different. I got the roast beef sandwich, and the spinach salad with it. It was SOOO good - and big enough that I took half home! My husband had the turkey sandwich and the Chinese chicken salad. We're going back next week, and the only problem is trying to figure out which delicious combination to try!

A locally owned small business one-stop-shop for everything culinary, they offer specialty kitchen supplies, a cafe, and a culinary school. The owners Lara and Jay greeted me, and were so kind and helpful. Eager to learn new skills and meet more new friends, I signed up for three classes - Autumn Soups and Breads, Slow Cooker, and Sushi, all taught by Lara and assisted by her generous and attentive staff. Don't worry, you don't need to be a master chef to take a class here. No matter your level of experience, Lara's chatty style is accessible and interactive. In the demo style classes, you watch, learn, and get fed! The Sushi class was hands on, so fun! After Lara showed us various techniques, we worked in small groups, with staff floating around and helping us when we had questions. The end result was sharing our creations with our group and schmoozing over a glass of wine. I was impressed that before classes, I was asked to provide a list of allergies. In class, the staff KNEW this, and when I politely declined samples of foods I could not eat, they went out of their way, without being prompted, to offer accommodations. For example, they brought me a soup bowl without pasta and cheese. Instead of feeling like an outsider, it was nice to be treated with respect and concern. The NTI philosophy of good cooking comes down to quality ingredients, the proper techniques, and the right tools. Now, that I've gone home and tried some of the recipes, the proof is in the results. You can't take short cuts if you want good flavor. Lara gave us the low down on where to buy the freshest meats, fish, and produce, gave tips on cutting and cooking techniques, and made recommendations for awesome cooking tools specific to the recipes she demoed. I've bought a few things from their store that truly help me in the kitchen. The vegetable peeler alone has literally changed my life. I'm looking forward to taking more classes soon. I feel welcome there, and I have so much I still want to learn. NTI is an incredible resource, and we are lucky to have them!

Started off with an amazing charcuterie and followed by a decadent dessert! Delicious. All of it. Can't thank you enough for the entire experience as we got to enjoy our guests and they even cleaned up. Bravo ! Chefs kiss !

WOW! My friends invited us to a Facebook Live cooking show with Chef Jonathan Chapin of Reno…read moreRecipes. This event was a dinner and show that would rival any fun night out in Reno. Chef Jonathan puts on a raucous, joke-filled (R-rated), cooking show with audience participation and brings along a wonderful cast of cooking teammates to make for a wonderful event! When we arrived at our friend's home, there were appetizers and drinks out. Chef Jonathan laid the ground rules for the live show, and then the jokes started. I'm sure he would use different one's if kids were present, but if you're over 18, all bets are off! LOL The live show had humor, great smells, drinks handed out, and tastings for the guests. He made food for vegetarians, lactose-free dishes, and all different types of food preferences...truly a remarkable feat. During the show, I learned a few things, laughed a lot, and was VERY entertained. The food was DEEELISH! There was plenty of food for everyone, and a lot of good times were had by all. With the holidays just around the corner, if you want to have a memorable dining experience for your friends and family, DEFINITELY call Reno Recipes to reserve a date!

All pre-registration and fees are handled via their website only and must be processed a minimum of 1 week prior to the event. The tours incorporate the Gospel stories that begin with Genesis and ends in Revelation while pointing out biblically named foods and plants that are nestled among herbs, medicinals, flowers, fruit, vegetables, annuals and perennials as well as sun and shade plants that grow in zone 7. Both local and online classes teach about building and planting raised and container organic garden beds in less than two hours. Other local classes cover seed collecting, seed propagation, sprouting, building raise beds, harvesting herbs, brewing teas, making sachets, assorted cooking classes and more. The tours run in May, July and September and the local classes run in April, June, August and October on Fridays and Saturdays only. Because so many younger tourists have loved picking flowers, walking through beds, and ignored adult authority, they regret that they have had to make a rule that children under the age of 5 (five years old) are not permitted. No smoking, alcohol, indecent attire or foul language will be allowed. The grounds are 75% handicap-able. One entire side of the garden does not have access to wheel chairs, although it can be seen from both ends. During the tours there are contests, games, refreshments and surprises. All tours and classes are about 1 (one) fun filled, educational, and spiritually enlightening, hour long.

The class size was perfect for this activity, allowing for the teacher to adequately share instructions, demonstrate the process, and work one-on-one with students as needed. The instructions were organized on a print out with all the materials and supplies needed to replicate the activity at home and referenced during the instruction portion of the class. The materials for the class were well-maintained and organized at each place setting for each student. I've taken other art classes elsewhere and I felt like this was a step above with regard to organization, instruction, and take away materials. I loved the experience so much that I'm going to take another class in October, and this time I'm bringing a friend! In addition to the art classes and studio, Copper Cat also has a delightful little art/gift shop with items made from the artists in studio. Most are in the front shop, but some pieces are scattered throughout. Take your time looking at all the wonderful pieces... so many great art gems for sale at very affordable prices. This little shop is now on my go-to for gift shopping.
