    Chef Tim is absolutely amazing! He was the chef for our wedding party of 20 people and left our family raving about the personalized experience. Many of them had not previously experienced Paella which my wife and I did our best to explain in advance. We did not do it justice because it was heavenly. In addition to the amazing food, Tim was personable and took time to interact with our guests. His passion showed while he was explaining the history of Paella and the influence of his tapas. It didn't end there as Tim and his sous chef did a wonderful job of our set up and take down. The place was spotless afterwards. Thank you Chef Tim, we look forward to the next time we meet :)

    I never experienced a personal chef's skills and services nor had the pleasure in someone else's home, but after meeting Tim and tasting his food, I am officially hooked! My girlfriends and I had our annual girls' weekend planned in Truckee and really wanted a no fuss, relaxing weekend. The homeowner had mentioned Tim before, but we did not contact him in time in the past. This time we planned in advance and booked him a good 5+ months ahead of time. He was super nice, accommodating to any dietary needs and restrictions, and very easy to communicate with over email. We confirmed a final menu, gave a deposit (half the amount due, not including tax or tip), and anxiously awaited our weekend. Omg Tim was a dream come true! Not only does he bring ALL of his own tools and equipment, but leaves the kitchen cleaner than when he first arrived! We had no problem cleaning up, but he was a total gem going above and beyond in the kitchen before, during, and after our evening. He presented in a cooking class style, set up stations, and had us make part of the 3rd and 4th courses in addition to teaching us basic knife skills and other cooking/baking tips. 1st course was appetizers: assorted cheeses and crackers, sautéed mushrooms in phyllo cups, and balsamic glazed caprese bites. 2nd course was a poached halibut atop mango salsa on a wanton. 3rd course was chicken Marsala atop fresh pasta we made during the lesson. 4th course was a flourless chocolate cake, we also made during the lesson, with raspberry sauce and amaretto whipped cream. Everything was absolutely delicious and pretty easy to make! We had so much fun and definitely plan on contacting him again for next year's weekend for his paella evening and create a Spanish theme. If you're in the Reno/Tahoe/Truckee area don't miss out on Tim and book him asap for an incredible dining experience!

    I was so honored to participate at a yelp home away from home event. So many amazing chefs who have given their time. I really looking forward to Tim's paella. Tim always serves up not only delicious pallet but also beautiful. It's like the pan is a canvas and his paella is the art. The colors and the smell is so amazing. It's so fun watching him putting paella together. Tim is so fun, you can tel he loves what he does. If you have an event I highly recommend hiring Tim to cater tour next party.

    Chef Tim, his amazing wife Lori and their crew cooked the most amazing feast for our friends and family at NV beach! 85 of had the pleasure of enjoying 4 different Paellas prepared fresh on the spot including a delicious cheese platter and appetizers. Each dish was outstanding and had it own unique flavor. Seafood Paella included clams, mussels, shrimp and calamari even one pan with squid ink! Vegetarian/pescatarian Paella had purple cauliflower, garbanzo beans, tomatoes and asparagus that was a huge hit. The final giant pan was the most amazing pork Shoulder paella ever created. Each dish was timed perfectly to keep all the food hot as folks moved quickly through the serving stations for their first second and third round. Tim is a true professional who loves what he does. From the first phone call to the final clean up everything was beyond our expectations and made for an incredible party and zero stress. I would highly recommend having Tim and his team cook for any event you are planning.

    Chef Tim did a PHENOMENAL job for my graduation celebration with delicious appetizers, his lobster seafood paella, and TWO cakes (olive oil & double chocolate)!!! Everyone enjoyed and raved about the food - and just as important to note is how professional, organized, and very personable he is. The process to develop the menu was collaborative and fun. We all enjoyed watching him make the paella outside in our backyard while enjoying our appetizers and wine. He explained each step and interacted with all of our guests. He made us feel so pampered and cared for throughout the evening! You DEFINITELY want to hire him!'

    He was so awesome! Great personality and so professional. We were very satisfied by the delicious meal and superior service. He was punctual and stayed out of the way so we could have the private chef experience but then showed us a demonstration of the way he cooked the food and the event was totally elevated. COVID friendly, packed leftovers and cleaned the kitchen before he left for the night. It felt like a friend came over to show us how to cook a gourmet meal. 10/10 would recommend hiring him if you are in the Reno area.

    Finally got to try Chef Tim's famous paella after drooling over it on Facebook for years. Let me tell you, it is the best I have ever had! The seafood was perfectly cooked and the paella itself had the perfect spice and season. I highly recommend and look forward to my next time getting the chance to eat it! It's so fun to watch him create in his huge pans as well! I'll be booking a paella party soon! And as a bonus, Chef Tim is the nicest guy and so fun!! Book him now!

    I had planned a small family dinner for my husband's birthday, and asked if Chef Tim could prepare a meal for us. With consideration of the palettes of all members of my family, he prepared several dinner options for me to choose from. ALL of them sounded delicious. We ended up combining a few things to make the perfect menu. The meal itself was just as delicious as I had imagined it. The ingredients were fresh. Everything was seasoned so well. Textures were perfect. It was an amazing meal. What made the evening more special was Tim's personality. He's hilarious! Also, my seven year old daughter expressed an interest in what he was whipping up, so he offered to let her help out with decorating the cake. What a great experience for her. Thank you, Tim, for such a fantastic meal!

So when we started planning our wedding, we were thrilled to hear that our favorite local chef also caters... While our wedding is still in planning stages, we decided to have Mangiamo cater a simple family style dinner for our family and friends to be sure of our choice. In short, we are sold! But for the sake of a more thorough review, I will elaborate further. We just wanted the basics... a pasta dish, a salad, and bread. We were served a baked penne with a spicy marinara topped with mozzarella, spring mix salad with cranberries, candied walnuts, feta, and vinaigrette, and crisp pugliese bread with garlic and herb butter spread. The pasta was a total standout from the vast majority of pastas I've been served, ever. The perfect balance of garlic, the subtle sweetness of basil, and bite of chili flake was spot on. Thankfully, Michael brought enough food for all of us to have seconds, or thirds. It was the kind of dinner that you are already full, but you keep eating just because you want to keep tasting it. An excellent chef can take a very simple meal and make it amazing and memorable. Chef Michael Barone does just that. He also anticipated several of our needs and details that I had completely overlooked, so I feel confident that Mangiamo will deliver for us on the big day. I'm so glad that I reviewed Yelp and read the wonderful reviews of Mangiamo. Michael has relocated to the Reno, NV area, but still caters events in the San Francisco and San Francisco mid-Peninsula area. Now that I've had the pleasure of meeting Michael and enjoying his handiwork, I will continue to use his catering services for events at/near my mid-Peninsula home as well as any celebratory family meals we'll need as we finalize the Estate in NV. I recommend him to others in either venue--SF mid-Peninsula or Reno area-- wanting a delightful catered meal. Chef Jonathan puts on a raucous, joke-filled (R-rated), cooking show with audience participation and brings along a wonderful cast of cooking teammates to make for a wonderful event! When we arrived at our friend's home, there were appetizers and drinks out. Chef Jonathan laid the ground rules for the live show, and then the jokes started. I'm sure he would use different one's if kids were present, but if you're over 18, all bets are off! LOL The live show had humor, great smells, drinks handed out, and tastings for the guests. He made food for vegetarians, lactose-free dishes, and all different types of food preferences...truly a remarkable feat. During the show, I learned a few things, laughed a lot, and was VERY entertained. The food was DEEELISH! There was plenty of food for everyone, and a lot of good times were had by all.
