I tried some items from the food truck at Olympic Village during the Made In Tahoe Festival. Service was friendly and the menu seemed the most interesting and desirable to me of the food truck options available. I got a Thai Veggie Curry and a Thai Chicken Curry and shared them with another person. Both were excellent, quite tasty, and well prepared. The veggies were so fresh and delicious and still had some crunch to them. The rice was equally delicious and what I appreciated most was the curry was light and the dish wasn't swimming in a soupy mess... it was all nicely coated Everything is sustainable, organic and containers recyclable. All good stuff. The portions were quite adequate and at $14 per meal I thought it was worth it. The only criticism I have is they seemed to be a bit overwhelmed, although not terribly busy. AMAZING experience with EATS. We hired eats to cater our yoga retreat in Truckee. Chef Tommy put together a fantastic vegan and vegetarian menu for us and dropped off beautifully prepared dinners and brunches each evening. We felt incredibly spoiled and each dinner was better than the last (paella, jackfruit bbq, kebabs, enchiladas, elote, yogurt parfaits, chia pudding, quiche, breakfast hash, etc.). It was my first time trying jackfruit bbq, and the vegans in the group assured me it was the best they'd ever had (and I'd likely be disappointed by other jackfruit bbq). Chef Tommy prepared the most amazing meal for our wedding night! Tommy was so easy to work with an accommodating on customizing the meal to satisfy everyone in our small group! The food was absolutely delicious! We ended up having about a 5 course meal in a family-style fashion which worked for us and Tommy made it all happen!! Some highlights included a buddha-bowl-style salad, a creamy coconut potato bisque, cedar plank salmon, chimichuri beef roast, roasted veggies, and quite possibly the best potatoes I've very had in my life. Food truck is set up just outside Ace Hardware in Tahoe City. Amazing, unique, fresh food with fast and friendly service! My husband went yesterday when he was nearby and brought the family and some friends back again today. So this review of eats is for their food truck. I love their food truck. Did I say love? Maybe love isn't strong enough. I'm enamored with it. I look forward to the days that is open with all my heart. Their Buddha Bowls are why I leave the house during a pandemic. Honestly, their food is always amazing. I have not been disappointed once. And I have to say, I hate beets. Like I really hate beets. But I like the beets that they put on their stuff. I don't know why. But I do. If there were ten stars, I'd give Chef Tommy a hundred more! Chef Tommy catered our Tahoe summer Friday evening wedding and our Saturday brunch. His team on that Friday were so delightful and quietly competent. There to help rapidly without question but never ever imposing. And all of them with such sweet demeanors. And the FOOD was incredible! Tommy and I (the Mrs.) worked to create a phenomenal menu, a gluten-free and mostly vegetarian "high-end picnic" was my ideal for this sweet outdoor summer affair for 60 guests. He came with his vegan beet burgers, seared salmon, a blend of salads and such delectable toppings for the burgers. The presentation was gorgeous as well, all on beautiful platters. He really knew what to do without me having a worry in the world. He showed up with his food truck and like a ninja, set up the food during the ceremony so that it would all be served fresh directly after. The staff swooped in and cleared the tables while everyone was gathered around the cake table (that EATS had set up beautifully) and then the staff was by our side after the first piece to cut and hand out swiftly. Chef Tommy arrived on time for our early brunch the next morning (25-30 guests). By himself, he made gluten free pancakes, egg scramble, an enormous fruit platter, smoothies ... his food WAS the party! Some of our guests went up and had specialty omelets made. He is a total delight to be around, either with his staff or on his own. My husband and I are still raving about his food and we HIGHLY recommend him for any of your events, small or large. He was so easy to work with, communicated exceptionally well, and created a healthy, organic menu that was fresh and savory. Salmon on a cedar plank and lemon-thyme chicken on the grill, baby kale salad with strawberries, avocado and pickled onion, a watermelon salad with cheese, charred peppers and micro greens, wonderful passed appetizers, and everything gluten-free. Tommy was everything that I was looking for in a caterer for our June wedding at a private meadow. He was easygoing without creating any concern that he wasn't on the ball. He was super easy to talk to, and I was comfortable telling him what I did and didn't want, asking for changes, and giving him feedback. He worked with me to find options that fit my budget (e.g., buffet style instead of plated main courses). We are whole food plant-based (vegan) eaters and so very grateful to have found Eats Food Truck while visiting Tahoe City. Whenever we travel, we bring our own food and stay in hotels with microwaves and fridges as we can't count on finding restaurants offering healthy vegan food (with the emphasis on healthy, meaning no processed fake meat burgers). We hate not being able to try new food and support local restaurants when we travel - though "support" is a two-way street. Well EATS supported our health and we were able to support EATS. We ordered the Thai Vegetable Curry and Buddha Bowl. Both were fresh and super delish with a great flavor mix. We were on bikes so took our food to the waterfront to enjoy.
