We chose D'Lish for our small pandemic wedding, June 2021. The food was so tasty: we picked fish and steak for our main courses and all were cooked to perfection - a challenge when feeding a crowd. The crab cake apps are to die for. We ordered rentals through D'Lish as well, they were delivered the day before and it was so nice not having to worry about keeping track of every individual fork, plate, and napkin. Cassandra was our day-of coordinator, and she was so on top of everything - our day ran so smoothly, drinks were kept full, the cake was ready to serve almost immediately after the cutting, food was hot and fresh. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars was communication throughout the booking and menu choosing process. I had to reach out 2-3 times every time I wanted to get a response from the home office. I'm chalking it up to the pandemic. read more

D'Lish catered the wedding that we attended in Tahoe this weekend. I thought that they did a fabulous job and definitely added a lot to my enjoyment of the afternoon/evening. Immediately following the ceremony, staff were ready with drinks and passed appetizers. My favorites were the fig and goat cheese on toasts and the ahi ceviche. We were well fed and never had to hunt down any of the appetizers. The dinner was served on a buffet. I had the caesar salad, salmon, mashed potatoes, vegetables on polenta and green beans. Everything was very tasty, definitely well exceeded my normally low expectations of wedding food. We had the most wonderful experience with D'Lish for our September wedding. They were incredibly responsive, flexible, organized and dedicated to making our wedding exactly what we imagined (and it was!). The chef, Lee was asking, and worked hard to make the food exactly to our liking. He was very open to taking suggestions about new dishes and tweaks to the ones we tried. We heard multiple times that our food was some of the best wedding food guests had ever had. Our cake was delicious as well. Marsy was a fabulous day-of coordinator, but she was really so much more than that! She was available to answer our questions, recommend other vendors and support us throughout the planning process as well. You don't have to worry about waiting around forever to be served because they are efficient and fast. D'Lish and it's owner, Jen, were hired to cater our wedding, and be our weekend wedding coordinator. As a weekend coordinator: Jen was amazingly calm and in control all weekend. She was very helpful with our rehearsal and figuring out some last minute ceremony decisions. She set up all our decorations exactly how I'd asked for the wedding. On wedding day she was orchestrating so many elements with an air of calmness. Just before my wedding began, a big weather scare blew through our venue. Jen maneuvered through the challenges beautifully. She continued this practice through the outdoor ceremony and dinner, sometimes dodging a lone rain drop or two. Mother Nature gave her wind guests that upset flower arrangements and table settings and Jen remained calm and in control so we could have our special evening. We can't thank her or the enough for that. Towards the end of the evening, Jen managed to get everyone into shuttle buses when and where they needed to go (North & South Tahoe). Jen made sure other vendors were organized and in the know throughout the entire evening too. As a result, we had the perfect evening that we has hoped to enjoy ...and did we ever! Regarding the catering: The food and beverage service was organized, and flawless. Our seated meal, multiple bars, cocktail hour on a different part of the premise... everything was flawless. I heard so many rave reviews on the food, the look.. the everything! Many saying this was the best wedding food they ever had! I thoroughly enjoyed the apps and my meal too. The D'Lish team was very responsive. They met with us at our home over the Labor Day weekend prior to one of their events. Jen and her staff did an incredible job with out June 2012 wedding in Tahoe City. She is a dream to work with--totally responsive and she just exudes experience. We actually ended up asking Jen for advice/tips with other aspects of our wedding since she clearly knows Tahoe and weddings! She accommodated every obnoxious little request while helping us to save money whenever possible. The food and service on the day of were fantastic and several guests commented on how much they enjoyed their meals. One thing we particularly appreciated was that unlike several other Tahoe based catering companies we interviewed, D'lish passes appetizers until guests stop eating them--they don't "budget" you 1 or two (or 1.5--seriously!) appetizers per guest. They also take care of all your tabletop rentals and will take care of ALL of your rentals for a reasonable price. This really took a burden off my husband and I as we planned an estate wedding and had no idea how much of each item we needed. Basically, hiring D'lish is investing in their experience, expertise and professionalism. I interviewed almost every caterer in the greater Tahoe area and knew within minutes that the service I would receive from Jen and her team would far exceed that from any other catering company. I cannot say enough good things about D'lish! I used them for my wedding last September and I was beyond impressed with the way everything turned out. Jen really went out of her way to make sure our day was perfect and the cake she made was wonderful. We were married at the Gatekeepers Museum, which has nothing except the location and restrooms available. We needed everything from food to rentals and D'lish is able to help with everything. Being from the Bay Area, it was the best decision we made to have them handle everything and was worth every penny. Jen implemented every detail I requested and set up the location better than I could have imagined. They coordinated all the rentals including a giant tent for the reception and made recommendations when needed (which was very helpful since we were dealing with a blank canvas so to speak) as well as provided the staff, food, cake, etc. We had a plated dinner and served our guests filet mignon, chicken and lamb. I went to a family wedding last weekend catered by D'Lish Catering. I am a wedding planner myself in the SF Bay Area and was SO impressed by their professionalism, service and food! The manager and staff was smiling the entire time, they seem truly happy working and it shows in their product. We were served mai tais, wine and appetizers just after the ceremony concluded. The bacon wrapped dates were AMAZING and the shrimp gazpacho shooter was yummy, fresh and the perfect amount of spicy. For dinner we were served a seasonal salad, I have a few allergies and they were nice enough to make me one without dressing and the toppings I can't eat. It was still super yummy even with my edits! They definately knocked it out of the park. They also did the brunch at our home the morning after and it was equally as fantastic! People have not stopped talking about the burritos! We recently attended a family wedding in Lake Tahoe catered by D'Lish Catering, with over a hundred people with a large catering staff: When we got there the catering manager upon themselves to make sure to find out who the peanut allergic guest was (my kid) and they let us know that absolutely nothing, at all, from appetizers to desert had ANY peanuts in it. THAT WAS AWESOME!!!! SO GRATEFUL FOR LOVING FAMILY MEMBERS WHO WALK THEIR TALK!!! Right on, Odell Family and Dehar Family! And big thumbs up to FOOD ALLERGY FRIENDLY CATERING COMPANY "D'LISH CATERING" of Tahoe City, California. And -- better yet -- nobody "made a big thing about it," you know what I mean? (I know you do). It was just quietly graciously a matter-of-fact sharing of info and we weren't made to feel awkward about it, either. It was just perfectly handled. AND I'm willing to bet not one party goer said to themselves "Wow, I sure missed peanuts in that party." The food was gourmet California fusion, mexican, asian and very indian -- and it was DELICIOUS and not a peanut passed our lips. It CAN be done easily and without a huge big "thing," either. It was -- I hope -- a glimpse of an elegant, inclusive, future for us all. In short, the event was a "class act." My daughter, was a very thrilled peanut-allergy wedding party attender as was her little sister, who won't touch peanuts out of solidarity. Having a company be quietly pro-active about the food's safety WITHOUT making it a Federal Case just was so relaxed for the event. HAVING HOSTS MAKE THE MENU SAFE REALLY MAKES A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE TO OUR PEANUT ALLERGIC KIDS! Even her sister is more relaxed, b/c her little sister won't touch peanuts, either, even though she knows she can. It just all so stressful to worry about that. To have the entire event from start to finish, including every little snack, be 100% safe, was beyond wonderful. If hosts/food service providers don't make contact to confidently assure you that they really made a concerted effort to avoid all peanut products, then -- I can say from experience, you just can't relax. But, you also don't want to feel like your kid's allergy stressed them out, either. These people handled this awkward situation with 100% elegance. And the food was gorgeous and absolutely mouthwateringly delicious! The staff and servers high end. Perfection! D'lish was fantastic to work with for our Lake Tahoe wedding. The food quality was excellent and the menu included a wide variety of options. We wanted hearty plant-based options and D'lish delivered with vegetarian/vegan-friendly quinoa and roasted vegetables as well as a great turmeric chicken and a fun chicken and waffle appetizer. They were able to accommodate the bride's gluten allergies and a number of other dietary restrictions, and were also able to provide catering for a few other meals during the wedding weekend including burritos for 100 people the day before. I was pretty satisfied with D'Lish until I was disappointed. The 1 star rating I am choosing to give this catering business is solely based on the lack of professionalism and communication my fiancé and I received from Marsha while trying to meet and discuss pricing and menu options for our wedding. We want to be clear in that we have not interacted with more than one employee in person, and we have not had the opportunity to try any of their food/services. Some background: My fiancé and I are visiting from out of town and we are on our very limited vacation time. We scheduled a meeting with Marsha 2 months ago to discuss pricing and food options for our August wedding that will take place here in North Lake Tahoe. We knew we would be in Tahoe for the holidays, so we wanted to schedule all of our essential "wedding planning" meetings while we are in town. So, if there was anything that would disrupt or cause reason to cancel our meeting without opportunity to reschedule while we are still in town, then we would have to seek services elsewhere or drive another 10 hours round trip to make our desired meeting with D'Lish happen. We of course don't want to and certainly will not make an unnecessary trip just for one meeting. To begin, my fiancé and I were scheduled to meet with Marsha between 10:30-11 this morning. We confirmed our meeting twice before today; once via email 2 days ago and once over the phone yesterday. We arrived at D'Lish 15 minutes early to make sure we wouldn't be late, since this meeting was so important to us. Marsha wasn't there yet, so we waited. A few minutes after our scheduled meeting time, Marsha still hadn't arrived. So, an employee that was present offered to call her to see what her ETA would be, but the call went straight to voicemail. We ended up waiting for Marsha for 45 minutes, and she never showed up or called to let anyone know what was going on. My fiancé and I are very disappointed that Marsha did not contact us or her workplace to inform us that she was an able to attend our meeting. We hope everything is okay and that she and D'Lish will be able to make it up to us and that this will never happen to us or other clients again. We were so excited to get the ball rolling with the catering and menu for our wedding. We chose D'Lish to cater our wedding based on the reviews and ratings that clients have given in the past. The food looks and sounds delicious, so we would like to give Marsha or an alternate employee with the same job title another chance to serve us before we depart North Lake Tahoe on Jan. 2nd. We don't have much time, so if D'Lish would like to receive a positive, 5 star review, then we will need to reschedule a meeting before the 2nd, and would appreciate a free tasting (valued at $300) and an offer for discounted rates on the catering services for our wedding. On the one hand, we know that the mistakes of one employee does not reflect the overall quality and performance of this business, so my intention is not to write off D'Lish as a bad catering business. D'Lish obviously has a nearly impeccable reputation for having excellent food and service. On the other hand, the type of meeting that we were scheduled to have this morning is what earns D'Lish their business. That said, if an employee does not show up to a meeting that will allow a prospective client to choose and pay for the menu for their wedding, then they will potentially lose a client and a lot of $. To conclude my review, I would like to let D'Lish know that if we receive a phone call or an email to reschedule our meeting before the 2nd, and the meeting goes as planned, and we are offered free/discounted rates for their services, then I would be delighted to change my review. I want to be able to give a 5 star review that expresses my satisfaction and happiness with D'Lish, so we hope they can make up for their mistake with an offer we can't refuse. We had an amazing weekend in Tahoe attending a wedding. I usually do not post reviews but the service and food that D'lish catering provided was over the top outstanding!! I was just a guest of the wedding and I felt as if I was in the wedding party. Our server Alícia (Alisha??) was amazing and took care of all of needs with efficiency and with a smile. We happened upon this place purely by accident. It's in a poor location by the go,f course but that doesn't seem to matter. Local hang out for sure. We hosted a rehearsal dinner/welcome party for 90 guests last Friday and D'Lish catered the event at the Tahoe Maritime Museum. Marsy and DeeDee were so helpful in the planning and execution of the party. They helped us procure a tent and a PA system, and they arranged all the rentals and linen. They also worked with us on the menu for the buffet, kids meals, vendor meals and a few dietary restricted meals. The staff did an excellent job at the party and the food was terrific! Jen made our wedding an incredible memory for us. She provided MUCH more than a caterer, but even on the food alone, we would have been thrilled. On top of that, Jen provided day-of coordination and ran our rehearsal. So many of our details at the last minute would have fallen through if Jen and her team hadn't have come to the rescue and made everything happen from hanging photos to setting up our welcome table. They helped set up the event in the crunch, and she made the event something I didn't worry about once the day started. She's a bride's dream. If you are looking for a great caterer that can take care of everything, look no further than D'Lish! I recently worked with D'Lish for the first time at the Fairwinds Estate in Kings Beach. My clients and I originally hired D'Lish because of their experience at a somewhat challenging estate venue. At the time of our booking, the company was going through a transition in ownership. We had some initial trepidations about working with a company in transition, but Marsy (their sales manager) put us at ease right away and made us feel confident and comfortable throughout the planning process. She was always upbeat, helpful, and very responsive to our questions and needs. On the wedding day, I was completely blown away by the level of service and professionalism that D'Lish delivered. The new owner and head chef, Lee, was on site for the duration of the event as were Marsy, DeeDee and their incredible staff. I have worked in the food and hospitality industry in Tahoe for many years and I have to say I was amazed at the dedication and professionalism of the serving staff. They were willing to help me whenever I needed them and they took great care of all the guests at the wedding. Not only was the service impeccable, but the presentation of the meal was spectacular! I was so impressed with how beautiful each plate was and how much care went into each and every dish. It's obvious that Lee takes great pride in his work. D'Lish's menus are extensive, but they are also willing to customize a meal just for you. The dinner provided for my client, a duet meal of New York Steak and Mahi Mahi, was absolutely fantastic. Lastly, I want to mention that we also ordered the wedding cake through D'Lish. Not only was it delicious, it was simply stunning in design. We hired them for a 6 person dinner party to celebrate our wedding. D'Lish knocked it out of the park! We used D'Lish for our family reunion BBQ dinner and the food and service was exceptional. We reached out to three different caterers to submit proposals and they were the most prompt and thorough to follow up. They provided an extraordinary meal for nearly 40 of us, prepared in an outdoor venue with limited amenities. Still they served the most juicy herbed chicken and mouthwatering tri-tip with a cabernet demi. As you can imagine, there were a few dietary restrictions which they easily accommodated. When the evening ended, not only did they clean up after themselves, they cleaned the venue's BBQ so it was left cleaner than it had been found. From start to finish they were first class. read more

This review is long-overdue, since our ceremony was over 6 months ago. I have to second all the good things people have said in previous postings: Jen and her entire staff were fabulous, and all of our guests were made to feel welcome and cared-for. Jen knows how to handle nervous participants and helped us all get through the jitters, let alone the ceremony, toasts and speeches. She coordinated with our wonderful florist (Diana of Stems by Diana) and landscaper (Sarah of Village Nursery) and others to make it the beautiful outdoor celebration we wanted. The food was of the highest quality and absolutely d'lish! It was served efficiently, gracefully, and with good humor.
