From the moment we began planning to the moment we finished dessert, Mike and his team were an absolute joy to work with. First Mike showed his patience with me, a picky foodie who had some food allergies to worry about for certain guests, but nothing was an obstacle for him. Totally flexible and very accommodating. Not only did he customer several items for us depending on varying preferences, but he hooked us up with our rental gear as well - placing the initial order and letting us customize as we saw fit. Next - the actual wedding. His crew showed up and took care of everything. I had honestly planned on having some family members set up our tables, etc for the dinner but his peeps took care of it. They completely worked around us without causing much stir and were incredibly friendly to boot. On to the food - ho.ly.cow. The fingerling potatoes were by far the greatest hit of the night because that pesto knocked everybody's socks off. The salad was petite and got everybody excited for the main meal. The veggies were perfect and the fish/vegetarian entrees were exquisite. Everybody raved about the food and we ended with chocolate covered strawberries and perfectly portioned chocolate chip cookies. Finally - his team cleaned the whole kitchen and disassembled everything so quickly, we could hardly tell they were there after they had packed up and gone. So professional, so kind and very talented. We could not have chosen a better, more perfectly suited chef and meal for us. What a great find!

Mike was recommended by a local, and was easy to work with in arranging everything for the dinner. I had high expectations based on the delicious sounding menu, and wasn't disappointed. From appetizers to dessert, everything was delicious, and the staff did a phenomenal job of staying on top of everything. It was a meal we will not forget, and I highly recommend him. Not only did they provide excellent food, but they were adept at working in a strange kitchen, and left it spotless after cleaning up. Very impressive.

They were scheduled to serve lunch for 21 and dinner for 36 on Wednesday 11/26, as well as 32 for dinner on Friday 11/28. Wednesday lunch was tasty, however the brioche slider buns per the menu were actually regular Safeway rolls, not brioche. 12 for $6.49! The dessert fell short of anything remotely high level. The brownies on skewers with fruit were dry and fell off the skewers. Wednesday dinner was a disaster. I ordered food for 36 people. We only had 32 including 6 kids, so we should have had plenty. We ran out of asparagas 2/3 of the way thru the line. the platter had enough for 12-15 people. The shrimp - one of the two main courses - ran out as well. I will try to attach a picture of the shrimp before anyone touched it! The photo (pre-serving) looks like there couldn't have been more than 40-50 shrimp. The chef told me he purchased 4-5/person. That would have been 180 shrimp! That was an out and out lie. I ate nothing, as we ran out of food. The owner did tell me afterwards that she looked at the grocery receipt, and he hadn't purchased enough. The dessert was not cake as planned. It appeared to be more of the same brownies, and they were not great. Friday dinner was okay. It was a taco bar. The chef put too much rice in the pot, and it boiled over onto our hardwood floor, rice and all. Then lots of wet garbage was put into the trash compactor, breaking it. The food was tasty and there was enough, but there was nothing high-end about it. Since the event, the owner admitted to me that they had never used the chef before. This was a huge mistake to send out an unknown for 3 large, very expensive meals. There was nothing "gourmet" about his preparation or presentation. Also, the owner admitted to me that the chef knew he was going to be short on dinner on Wednesday. He had a 3 hour break between the two services when he could have purchased more food. We believe that we were grossly overcharged for the chef's time. We were charged over 24 hours for his time alone on Wednesday. The food was supposed to be prepared in our home, but most of it was not. I was not presented with the grocery receipts, so I imagine those could have been inflated. With 21 for lunch, and 32 for both of the dinners, I paid $150/person/meal - over $13,000. And when you consider that one of the meals was a taco bar, the price was outrageous. I hired Hey Chef to ease my stress through the week-long holiday with a lot of guests. Instead, I was embarrassed by the shortcomings and more stressed. I expected the owner to handle these issues more professionally and issue a decent partial refund. I was offered a $300 credit towards a future booking! I am disappointed in Hey Chef for not taking responsibility for failing to come close to our expectations. I would certainly not use their services again, nor would I recommend them.

From her bright and infectious smile to her warm welcome to her amazing cooking, she went above and beyond. The food was to die for and her presentation was outstanding. She was there early to prepare and cleaned up everything afterwards. We were treated like queens. I read her reviews and talked with her once on the phone and immediately knew she was the only chef I wanted for my friends and me. Our days started out raving about the food the night before and looking forward to the next dinner. She is a one of a kind gem that you just don't find everyday. Thank you Meghan for making our trip the BEST!!!!!!

We communicate before hand on what we thought would work best and everything was amazing. Our place does not get used much these days and I was worried she would not have everything in our kitchen to prepare all of the amazing dishes and appetizers she came up with. My worries were put to rest immediately when we had our first meal. She brings everything she needs to get her work done. Do yourself and group a favor and hire Meghan and sit back and enjoy your group gathering. She left the place spotless after every meal and there was always more food than we could possibly eat. Andrew provided a 4 course (appetizer, salad, entrée, and dessert) meal for 9 girls in a bachelorette. He was extremely easy to work with prior when it came to picking the menu, coordinating dietary allergies/restrictions, and etc. We had a last minute cancellation from one of the girls and he was able to be flexible and adjust accordingly which I am super thankful for! The private chef experience was amazing and I would highly recommend it. He arrived about 4 hours early to prepare the dishes in the Airbnb kitchen, brought some of his decorations to help make the event special, and was so organized throughout the whole event. Each meal was delicious and carefully crafted. And the clean up afterwards was flawless, the kitchen looked better than it did when we first arrived to the Airbnb! Can't say enough great things, thank you Mindful Chef!
