We had a couple lanes reserved for us. Plenty of space for seating, eating, etc. Please see all my pictures. I had a few tacos, churros, beer, and ice tea. I left very satisfied. Ambiance - The space is AMAZING, both indoor and outdoor. Huge and plenty of different things to do. Good options to eat or drink, especially with a full bar. See pictures of their menus. Racing, duckpin, mini gold, arcade, eating and drinking, etc. So many options. A great place to host events, corporate meetings, etc. Or just a great day/night for a family outing, date night, etc. Open 7 days a week from 10am or 11am to 10pm or midnight. Plenty of mall parking; they are located in the very back of the mall next to Planet Fitness; so again, plenty of parking. Many promotions, especially daily; see their website. Service - Great. Went to do go kart racing and play games at the arcade. 8 year old and dad was able to race but not my 6 yr old as he didnt meet the height requirement. 8 yr old got his own youth kart to race by himself. The karts are single riders and for racing the track. I played the arcade with the LO and the cost for games was fair. Limited types of games mostly racing games and coin games. We stuck to coin games and collected all the cards for smurfs, avengers, and SpongeBob. They have limited prizes but good for boys. We ended up getting bow and arrows, twin spears, and glow swords. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Clean restrooms but they need to restock toilet tissue. read more

I had high hopes, but it was just okay. The arcade had a good selection. The race track was small compared to others we have been to. Be aware that many time slots are pre booked for parties. I recommend calling ahead of time to see when they have open time. The food was bad. I saw them take over this location a handful of months ago. What I did. It expect is just how massive this place is when you walk in the doors. It's very unassuming from the outside but it goes all the way to the back of the building and hooks around the neighboring businesses. There is so much to do here! I was looking for things to do recently and found out they had duckpin bowling here which was a. lol discovery for a bowling nerd like me. I ran into some of their staff at a recent Yelp even wand was telling them how stoked I was to come try the duckpin bowling and one of them gave me a coupon specifically for that. I've only experienced pieces of the venue but I can confidently say I'll be back plenty of times. Wednesday is half off libations and arcade games. I came with a couple friends, we bowled for a couple hours, got a couple pizzas and had a handful of drinks and were out the door for under 100 bucks. The staff from front to back was pretty stellar. I bugged the young man (Jack) at the front a couple times to add time to our lane. He was happy to help but the POS system was giving some issues. Justin and Renee showed up to help sort things out and made sure our group was back on track to continue the fun. They walked back to the duckpin area to make sure we were all good. We got some food and drinks while we were there. Izzy offered great service and Roger, the bartender, was awesome as well. We only tried their pizza as far as food goes. Came in as a group of 6. We were advised to wait about an hour and 15 min if we wanted to be able to race together. Luckily we were in no rush and were able to wait. We decided to check out the place, the right side of the building has an outdoor area with games like corn hole, ping pong tables, and a bowling with multiple outdoor fire pits and plenty of tables. They also have a mini indoor golf, the obstacles have a good concept, but I think the way it's laid out looked kinda tacky. The arcade area is very nice, it feels spacious and there's definitely games for everyone. They also have a restaurant. The food was pretty good for being an arcade/racing place. I ordered the mango habenero wings and the group shared burgers, pizza, tots and tacos. The wings were pretty good, pizza was okay, burger was good, and the mini tacos felt like they were on wonton crackers. The waitress we had was great!! Her service was good, she was helpful and nice. Now there's the racing of course! Two story track, new carts, just plain cool! I really enjoyed it. Totally worth it. And they also had a bowling alley thing (with the small bowling balls) and a bar! We had a blast going here! We have been a couple of times and when we go, we enjoy doing the go kart racing and duck pin bowling and playing the video arcade games. First off, I have to say that my family was excited for this Northtowne location to open up as it is close to our home. Although we were not aware that the location had already opened. I am surprised that there has not been more advertising around town to notify the community of this new location. Many of our friends and family did not know it was open either. We have a 13 year old son, and was looking forward to going somewhere new that we could all enjoy together on a Saturday night. We were glad that we were able to sign up for the go-karts online ahead of time in order to save us some time when we arrived. We arrived around 9pm and was impressed with the hours that this location stays open (12am on Saturdays). We had a pepperoni flatbread pizza and it was pretty good. Our waitress was very friendly and seemed enthusiastic about working there. Off the bat I appreciated the artwork all throughout the place. I recognized the artwork to be that of a local artist, which was really cool. Second thing I noticed was how bright it was inside. I honestly did not like the bright flourescent ceiling lights as I have a medical sensitivity to them. I suppose with children and teens running around it could have some pros, but I feel that some dimmer lighting or colored lighting it would make the ambiance better. The lights in the hallway heading to the bathroom areas were even BRIGHTER which was overwhelming. We appreciated the variety of activities to do throughout the place. My teenager LOVED the multi-level go carts which really distinguishes itself from other locations. The dark track with neon lights was also really neat. We had been wanting to try the mini golf, but it was shorter than we had hoped, so we decided against it. Really fun place to spend a few hours. This new facility is huge, clean, and nicely done. It has so much to do, including go karting, mini golf, arcade, bowling, bar, and food. I came for the go karting, which was great. The unique two story kart track and nice fast karts were great. If I wasn't already full, the spacious bar and food area would have been great to try. Our recent visit to Need 2 Speed was for a friend's baby gender reveal celebration. In general, the venue met expectations, offering what one might predict from a location catering mainly to a younger audience. One noteworthy aspect is the ambiance. The spacious ceilings and effective ventilation prevent the musty odor often found in similar venues, a definite positive. The staff's consistent kindness and courtesy further enhanced the overall pleasant atmosphere. While gender reveal parties aren't my personal favorite, the manager at Need 2 Speed did put in effort to add excitement for my friends. The reveal involved a countdown and a go-kart entering the track amidst a cloud of blue smoke, a satisfactory way to unveil the surprise. For those interested in adult beverages, a basic bar is available; however, it's important to note that consuming alcohol will disqualify you from go-kart driving, a reasonable policy to bear in mind. In addition to go-karting, Need 2 Speed provides various other entertainment options for young visitors. Inside, there is a mini-golf course, a section with miniature bowling lanes equipped with strings attached to the pins, and an arcade where you can load credits onto cards. Outside, basic activities like cornhole are also available. In essence, Need 2 Speed functions as a serviceable entertainment venue. Visited the new Need for Speed in Northtowne with a group of friends on a Friday night. We arrived at 830 PM but weren't scheduled to race until 10:15 PM. While we expected a wait, we didn't expect the strong discouragement around ordering food or drinks during that time. I understand safety concerns, but for adults waiting over two hours, that policy felt excessive and made the experience less enjoyable. The check-in process also caused a discouraging mood as the staff member helping us seemed frustrated and unwelcoming, which was disappointing--especially since most of our group were first-time visitors. When it was finally time to race, the briefing was minimal. We were told the main rules were not to drift or bump, but I later found out about passing rules and flag signals, which turned out to be important. During our race, an accidental collision occurred, and the staff issued a final warning to me and a friend--but the message was hard to understand through helmets and muffled audio. The staff in charge also had a bad attitude and made it seem as though the collision was done on purpose from our part (It was not). Clearer communication and better instructions would've helped avoid the situation entirely. The racing itself was fun, but the overall experience would benefit from improved customer service and more thoughtful communication of rules and expectations especially when on the track. I personally don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. 3 stars- For having to wait 2 hours for a 10min race, the all around bad attitude of the staff members and the race limitations, it was decent amount of fun. read more

Really cool place to hang for the kids and adults alike. The venue is actually really big. Took my brother her for his 58th birthday and we had a blast on a Sunday afternoon. Didnt get to enjoy outside console due to rain but we did get to race the carts which are fast and fun! Was able to bring our own helmets in which was a plus. The 9 hole putting was okay. Seems like some of the hole set up could be further from the walls so you could position your club without leaning against something? The arcade was so so. All new school games and more ticket winning games then anything. The miniature bowling was super fun! Ordered some chicken wings that were a dollar a wing (6 minimum) and they were actually delicious! Perfect crunch and perfect mango habenero heat. Racing 14 laps was definitely the highlight. Lots of great weekly specials. I will return for some more laps soon. Great place to catch sports too. Lots of screens to watch. read more

I requested the manager so we could work it out, but she refused to talk to us and we didn't get it resolved. Instead, she was enjoying drinks with her boyfriend... like for 3 hours! This was the worst experience and poor guy didn't have a good bday. Thanks a lot. We also drove 2 hours from Sacramento to be here. THIS place sucks. Zohnathan, our server was the best part - he was apologetic despite his leadership being in the wrong jobs. *This review is for the go kart experience only. I was invited to drive with a group of friends. They reserved a time slot online. My friend and I arrived early and bought two races of our own so we could warm up and get a feel for the karts and the track. We were given a short safety lesson and driving tips and rules for the track. You are given a complimentary balaclava to wear. The staff show you to your kart and help you adjust your helmet strap, seat, and seatbelts. I appreciated the extra attention at the starting line because I was a bit nervous the first go around. The karts sure can get up and go! I had so much fun during the 14 lap races. It does take a minute to get used the the gas pedal, steering, and curves of the track. I came in last place in all 3 races, but I had a blast. read more

WARNING HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE We booked a group event for my nephew's birthday with 20+ people, and the experience was extremely disappointing. Our scheduled race time was 2:00 PM. When our guests who were racing lined up, they were yelled at by staff and told to leave the line--even though we had a confirmed race time for my nephew and others in our group. As a result, most of our guests were not able to race at all. After spending over $1,000, we spoke with a manager who told us there was nothing he could do; that we could only wait and have two kids race by themselves after 4:00 PM, which excluded the rest of our party. No effort was made to accommodate our group or offer a reasonable solution. Throughout the event, the lead manager (pictured) spent several hours talking with her male friend and never once approached our party to address the situation or attempt to resolve the issues. With a group of 20+ people and significant money spent, we expected at least some level of engagement or customer service from management. Additionally, our kids were later removed from mini golf because it "wasn't our time," despite it being included in our package. Time restrictions were never explained to us by staff. The only positive part of this experience was Zonathan, who was kind, accommodating, and the only staff member who acted professionally and tried to help. Unfortunately, we will not be recommending this facility and strongly advise others to save their money. Took my dad on a father daughter date for Christmas here and it was fun but definitely was a bit more physically demanding than I thought it would be. I was imagining go karts that didn't go very fast but these actually went really fast!! If you accidentally hit another car or the wall it actually hurt a bit. I pre-purchased 3 rounds but we actually only used 2 rounds and I was able to get a refund for the 3rd round we didn't use because we were tired lol! Each round is actually quite long so we were definitely satisfied after 2 times. It's an impressive set up, very clean, great cars and track. But the staff was pretty lacking. They were not communicative at all probably because they were all young kids. The checkout desk didn't even seem to have a manager around to authorize my refund. There wasn't really clear instructions on anything like when to get ready, what gear we needed, etc. I had to ask every little detail like if I needed to pull my hair back, if we need helmets, etc. I also don't think the helmets are sanitized between riders which grossed me out a bit. The helmets are just on a rack and you pick up whatever size you think works for you. There were a few with broken straps too. Not sure if they sanitize them when you get off the car but at least when we were trying them on you could try on a few and there was no one cleaning in between... Honestly not sure how it's stayed in business because I don't really see this being a consistent place you would go, more for special occasions or you try it out once and that's it. Not sure that I'd go back unless there was an event that was being held there. read more

The card times out if you replay games and doesn't allow a second game to be played at the same time. This place is such a vibe! Took my kids to Need 2 Speed and we had the best time. They ran straight to the arcade (which is huge, by the way) and were locked in for hours. Some of the games are one of 5 in the world and come from England-- and the prize area was legit stacked. The two-story go-kart track? Way more fun than I expected. And they've got duckpin bowling, mini golf (with Plinko?!), plus a ton of space outside with fire pits and games like football bowling which is wilddd!!! We ordered food after all the racing -- burgers, chicken tenders, fries, and these giant nachos I couldn't even finish. And yes, there's a bar! Two actually. Perfect spot to relax while the kids play or to come back for a date night or chill time with friends. Honestly, Reno needed something like this. RUDE UNPROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT. Manager is extremely rude. Drove an hour from Gardnerville and got turned away to play games and go on a go kart because I didn't bring my id? I've never been asked for my id at there other location and it's the exact same business.....but here you need id for a foot ball and to drive a go kart are you kidding me? No where does it say you need id. It's says sign waver and pay that's it. And when I asked the manager if I could show her a picture of my id she said no and "and it's not my fault you can't read" but no where does it say that it's required. Even the employee working the desk admitted and agreed that they get this all the time yet they don't fix it. What's good about this place is that it's clean and open. Obviously they have a couple of bars to help make up money. The golfing is cute and the main attraction of the go-karts is where it's at. PLEASE READ: About 10/25 of us wanted to race together for my nephews birthday, start time was 2pm. When we got to the room, one of the staff yelled at us to get out of the room even though we were scheduled to race with my nephew. They were extremely rude and several of his friends were not able to join him. We spoke with one manager and he couldn't do anything for us, only saying that we could wait (after paying $1,000+) until 4pm for only two other kids to race by themselves, not including anyone else in our party. The entire time, the head manager (in the pic) was chopping it up with whoever this is, and over several hours never came to talk to us even once to fix the issue. With a group of about 25 people, and $1,000+ money spent, i would have hoped that ANYONE would have done something to make our experience better. Also, our kids went to mini golf and were kicked out of that area (saying it wasn't our time) even though it was included, and times were never once communicated to us. We visited the new location on the night of 12/26 and had an extremely disappointing experience. We were unable to complete all laps of our race, and our situation was never properly resolved. What made the experience worse was the assumption that because we are Spanish, we did not understand or read English. This was both incorrect and offensive. If that were the case, we would have been asked to sign a Spanish waiver, which we were not. We never received a replacement race, and as a result, we did not enjoy this new location at all. I've been here once before for a sorority event years ago, and decided to make it part of my birthday festivities this year. The workers helped explain everything to us, and even rescheduled our first race since we were a few minutes late which I appreciated a lot. We did three races. The first was with kids, which was expected, and not bad at all. They are more reckless than I am haha. The next two there were other adults, so they saved our two older parties to go together and let the kids go. The guys in the other group were too aggressive and hit me so hard they we had to stop and my knee hurt afterwards, but that wasn't the establishments fault. It was a little pricey, but it was a lot of fun, an endorphin rush, and the carts went decently fast. A super fun birthday event idea. read more

I came to Need 2 Speed with two friends, expecting a fun time. Their website clearly said $35 per person for one race, so we were ready to pay about $105 total. But when we went to check out, they tried to charge us $412 for three people to race once. That's more than $130 per person--for a single race! No clear explanation, no breakdown that made sense--just a bloated total with vague fees and zero transparency. We ended up walking out. Just went here 2 hours ago and I did not like it, I've only ever been to the old need 2 speed in Reno and that one was flawless, aside from the inconsistent carts. Obviously it was a bit barren but it was purely--Need 2 Speed. Now, it is Need To Be a Child, Need 2 Play Games, Need 2 Eat, Need 2 Drink, Need 2 BOWL, what the hell is that. Fun time. I thought I was burning up the track. 26.573 for first timer is not too bad. I think. We did the 2 race package. We played golf first. Hint, don't play the 9th hole. Then go back to number one and play again. The black lights were kind of cool. You can't really tell but there are bumps throughout the course. Check it out first before you hint the ball. Fun time at the glow in the dark course. We then were called for the race track. We got in our cars. Just the two of us, and raced each other. It was kinda cool to be able to check out the course with just 2 people. The next race was with 6 racers. It's a little more challenging for sure. Even with all the racers, I was able to better my score. It was fun to race but man, did I get a work out. This was allot of fun and I recommend it to everybody. The kids can race also. Great facility, great games, great golf set-up, great bowling, and great kart racing circuit. Most importantly it is clean, well laid out. Great for kids and adults. Most importantly the staff are very nice people from the front lobby to the people working on the bowling, golf and especially the Kart attractions. For groups there is an outdoor area. This is NOT your fathers arcade. This place is clean, great facilities, good group of games and something for everyone. We are repeat visitors with out of town family and this is always their go to place when visiting. Can't stress the attention to detail by the staff. If I could give this place a rating less than 1 star, I would. We wanted to celebrate our grandson's 10th birthday, so we paid for the GOLD Karting Package, the most expensive of the choices. With taxes, additional food and drinks, we spent well over ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS !! Was it worth it ?? Not just "no", but HECK NO !! We got there about 30 minutes before our 2-hour time slot. (Our slot was from 4PM to 6PM. They were SO adamant about the party being done BY 6PM, because there was another party that was going to take the room. Remember this sentence). There were 5 or 6 people coming in and out ot the room, telling us all sorts of different information. The problem with this procedure is that the person who was running the kart races was scheduling the races when the food was coming out. So that means that by the time the races were done, the pizzas would be cold. And the pizzas weren't that great. The ice cream that was supposed to be part of the package was never served. Nobody told us that we had to sign ANOTHER waiver form, despite signing one from the other Need2Speed facility. The level of complete disorganization of this whole ordeal can be described with two words: ABSOLUTE CLUSTERFVCK. I'm sure some representative from Need2Speed is going to respond by saying, "Well, we texted you all the information/contract regarding everything". Uh, nope. We didn't get jack. This definitely contributed to the mass confusion. All these problems could have been easily avoided by assigning ONE host who has the ability to COORDINATE the kitchen, racing supervisor, and all the other departments involved. This ONE host could have assembled EVERYBODY in the party, and then briefed EVERYONE when the race would be started, when the ice cream would come out, when the pizzas will be served so it would hot, etc., etc. Only then would our special event would have been worth the money. As of what happened yesterday, I would NOT RECOMMEND this place for ANY sort of event, because the level of disorganization is BEYOND description. We had to move all the birthday presents and dessert cups we had made to an area outside the bar. We stayed until 8:30. When we checked the room that we vacated from to see if there was another party, guess what ?? It was completely empty. The lie they told us regarding that room was like pouring salt into a wound, and was the final "straw that broke the camel's back". So save your money, and go elsewhere for your special event. When our grandson was 6 or 7, we celebrated his birthday at Chuck E. Cheese. We even celebrated another one of his birthdays at Wild Island. They were A LOT more organized and would recommend those places than Need2Speed ANY day. read more
