Was in the area and decided to give Breadman's a try. The wait was pretty long even though we thought we had gotten there fairly early for Sunday brunch. In my opinion, the food wasn't worth the wait and if you're from Raleigh/Durham/Cary, I don't think it's worth a trip out. The food was sadly very bland and unexciting. Plus, the menu was very basic to a point that I would rather go to IHOP or Denny's for a better version of breakfast. Sorry but this is definitely a one and done kind of place for me.

The food was ok, the surroundings a bit strange. Nothing about this place was compelling or making me want to return.

The food was just borderline and the service was some of the worst I've had in Chapel Hill.

5 star food and 4 star atmosphere. Still the best diner style breakfast in town and I have been going there since the mid 1980s.

Good for a local diner. The waitstaff wasn't very knowledgeable about their dishes which is important to me.

I assume their special evenings like this are unique and they're probably not menu repeaters BUT hopefully this review will encourage you to attend their next one or just go eat there. The food was immaculate. I can't even pick a favorite. Baked oysters, cured scallops with bread, halibut crudo, delicious pasta dish and lastly venison. Everything was SO good. The wine pairings were also super delicious. I'm not much of a red wine drinker and I appreciated the lightness of the reds that were chosen. The woman from the wine shop did a phenomenal job of explaining the history and significance of each wine. It was a lovely experience. The restaurant staff were so friendly and kind as well. Only thing I'd change is adding a dessert! Would've loved a little sweet treat, even something tiny like a truffle or scoop of icecream, just something to finish off the meal would've been amazing. All in all, the meal was so amazing and I'm so glad I got to experience this wonderful event. Everyone should go check them out!

The star of the show in my opinion were the hush puppies and the corn and wild mushroom risotto. There were sooo many different flavors that perfectly complemented each other. I was blown away. And the pig cheek on top was incredible. 500/10. Our server made great recommendations! Then-- chaos and heartbreak ensued in the form of a fire alarm. We were forced to evacuate the restaurant as the fire department arrived , leaving about half our meal on the table. After 30 or so minutes of waiting out in the cold (we were apparently the only guests who hadn't paid out yet) our server came to find us. He asked us if we wanted to just give him our credit card information and he would ring us up later, when the fire department gave them the ok, as he understood not wanting to wait around. It broke our heart to leave our leftovers, but we agreed and went to go get the car. Thankfully we are stubborn.. and optimistic to a fault. And by the third time we circled around the block, the fire truck was pulling away. I ran in and asked if there was any chance our food hadn't been thrown away yet, and it hadn't! The staff was happy we had been able to come back, and they packed everything up for us, even taking the hush puppies off the bill and sneaking in a complimentary piece of key lime pie. I'm so glad we were able to tip our server appropriately for his great service-- and rescue our leftovers. Happy ending. All was well. (And the fire ended up being something innocuous in the unit above the restaurant)

Our server was great and very knowledgeable on the menu and had great wine recommendations. The Soupe aux Haricots Cannellini was creamy and delicious. The big chunks of bacon were pleasant and tasty finds within the soup as well. The beef tartare was perfectly prepared and paired well with the small pieces of toast that came with it. Every bite of the poulet toulousaine (sausage-stuffed chicken) was delicious. Each bite was juicy and very well-seasoned. The fondant potatoes were so soft and good. The knife sliced through them like butter. It was amazing and the Brussel sprouts were divine. I loved it.

The service was very "Parisian"--they left you alone but were there when you needed a server. The omelettes were divine. We had the "supreme" which is off the menu but is a combo of ham and mushrooms. The eggs were silky and the potatoes on the side err smashed fried potatoes with caramelized onions. My son had the gnocchi which was quite good. The morning bun was the hit, though, and a must-get when you go. The have a pretty impressive bar program, too. I had a French 75 (since it's a French restaurant, seemed like the call) which had Theo house made pea-lavender syrup. It was excellent! Delicious, strong coffee too.

Food: 4.5 Location: 5…read moreInside/seating :5 Service: 5 Overall value: 4 My spouse and I came here for lunch as we were in the area, and it was recommended. I had the BLTA sandwich with french fries and Dijonaise on the side and my spouse had the sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast burrito with home fries. We also each got different sodas from the cooler area. The total for two lunch entrées and two canned sodas was about $40. I feel like this is pretty high relatively speaking for a sandwich and fries, and a breakfast burrito and home fries + two canned sodas, which is why I gave the overall value a four. However, the breakfast burrito, home fries, and regular fries were AMAZING. Probably one of the best breakfast burritos I have had in a really long time, and the home fries were crispy and well seasoned. The sandwich I had was pretty good, but nothing super special, and definitely not worth $16. I didn't particularly care for the Dijonnais, but that's just personal preference and glad I had it on the side. The restaurant itself has ample parking and is easy to find. It has a lot of seating, as well as lounge type seating for the breakfast/café crew and people who might be coming to do a little bit of work. You order at the front and they give you a number and bring the food out to your table. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and kind. The restaurant itself was clean. Overall, I would probably give this somewhere between a four and a five, but I do really love to support Local and I could tell this place probably makes a banging coffee drink and had delicious looking desserts, so I went with a 5. Unfortunately, we live between 35 and 40 minutes away, so we likely won't return, but if we find ourselves in that area of Chapel Hill, I would consider stopping in for another breakfast burrito!
