I stop here for a biscuit every time I visit Chapel Hill, NC and brought family who were visiting with me this time. The classic biscuit with chicken, egg, and cheese is my go to and recommendation. It's a drive thru only but there are some lovely parks nearby where you can eat and enjoy the day... if you make it that far before digging into the biscuit The biscuits are always fresh and fluffy, chicken flavorful and juicy, and it's been consistent for over a decade. LISTEENNNNN, if you want breakfast and you want it for a decent price, this is the spot. I really wish they had closer locations to the Raleigh area. Anytime I'm over near Chapel Hill. This spot is a must try. When you're trying to eat cheap and decent keep these guys in mind. Great portions, decent food, nowhere to eat inside, so plan on either taking the food with you to go, eating in your car, or grab one of the picnic tables that are outback. read more

Sunrise is the place to go for a good biscuit. Hands down! The biscuits are fire! They are soft, fluffy savory and delicious. Add some bacon, egg and a slice of cheddar cheese and you will officially have a breakfast biscuit of champions. Have to be honest-the biscuit is so big that I cannot eat it all at one time. The prices are highly reasonable for the amount of food that you receive at Sunrise. This place is a definite place to visit in Chapel Hill. read more

Pretty good place if you have a hankering for a good ol' fried chicken biscuit. In the past, I had biscuits here for that were among the best I've ever had. Grabbed a chicken biscuit from here today. Used the drive-thru (maybe the only option?) and everything went smoothly, although it was a little expensive. The biscuit wasn't bad at all but it was a little too salty for me, and the chicken was decent. Maybe it'd be better to hit this place up earlier in the morning - I came around 10:30 AM, so it's possible that the food was slightly less fresh due to my timing. Overall, not bad, but I may hit up another breakfast place if I'm hungry in the morning around the Chapel Hill area :) read more

The biscuit fame is well earned at Sunrise. For breakfast on the go it's the perfect option. The biscuits are fluffy buttery clouds of bliss. They are huge and dense so you won't be hungry after just one. I thought the chicken was fine but could have used a little more seasoning. Hashbrown was on the smaller side and nothing notable though. Wish there was a tad more friendliness from the lady taking our order but can't fault someone for being a little cranky after a long shift. read more

We stopped by Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen after my wife finished her nursing shift. Drive through was fast. We didn't like the food, I ordered a chicken biscuit and she ordered a bacon egg and cheese biscuit. I think the food needs to be seasoned a little more. For the 2 sandwiches we paid $12 We gave it a try but, unfortunately it just wasn't for us. read more

I was out running errands and needed a quick bite. I did not want fast food and am watching what I eat. I knew SBK was known and tried for there famous delicious buttery biscuits but I quickly checked the menu for other items and found a few options for lunch. I was in luck and they have sandwiches that you can order for lunch. I opted for a chicken salad on wheat with lettuce and tomato and I could barely take a bite of the sandwich. It's so packed high with chicken salad. The chicken salad is delicious and I am very satisfied with my choice today. The service was quick and pleasant and the staff is always friendly and polite. This is a drive through establishment off of a main busy road so there's no options for eating inside anywhere. Besides this being delicious the price was right. The sandwich was under $5.00. And I did not need a side as this was more than enough. read more

It was the perfect pairing with the golden, crispy, tender, juicy, fried chicken. Simply unsimple. Everything you want in one sandwich on a Saturday autumn morning. The service was filled with sincere southern hospitality. If I didn't know I was in chapel hill, I'd know I was in chapel hill from the way we were treated just in the drive through line. Sunrise is a local drive-thru-only biscuit place that serves good biscuits. Their blueberry muffins are generously sized. I took one home and ate it for breakfast the following day. I'm a fan of their signature biscuits. I had a simple sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit my first time. It was basic. The main difference was the biscuit texture. These biscuits are rich and flaky. I got their Good GramMa the second time and made two brunches out of it. I took it home and whipped up a side dish to go with it. The Bad Grandpa would have been a carb overload. Me and Fiancé decided to try a new place for breakfast! I am so glad we discovered this gem when we were in Chapel Hill. I got the Chicken Biscuit combo which came with a drink and a hashbrown. My fiancé ordered the bad grandpa. The hashbrown was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! It was probably one of the best hashbrowns I have had in my life. I've loved this drive-in spot in Chapel Hill, and it's always a fan favorite when I have visitors in town. Most people love the bad grandpa, but if you're vegetarian there are a lot of options, too. Pro tip: Don't sit and wait in your car, and instead park and come up to the walk-up window. I imagine you'll save yourself 30 minutes on a busy weekend. Also, it's so cheap! For less than $5 I got an egg & cheese biscuit with a hash brown that filled me up for the whole day. read more

This is always one of my favorite stops when I'm in town. Don't be deterred by the long line, that's almost guaranteed to be backed up into the road. It moves fast. But even if it didn't, Sunrise biscuits are totally worth the wait. I almost always get the Bad Grampa. For those who don't know, Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen was featured in the Johnny Knoxville film, Bad Grandpa! That's where this glorious biscuit sandwich gets its name. It's a huge portion of perfectly breaded chicken breast, topped with egg, cheese, and a lot of bacon! The biscuits themselves are buttery and crumbly in all the right ways. I have been known to swap the regular cheese on the Bad Grampa for pimento cheese - so good! I really enjoy their gravy biscuits as well. I sometimes add a piece of chicken to the gravy biscuits, because the chicken is just that good. It's a very simple establishment, drive thru only. There is no inside seating, however if you drive across the parking lot past the Indian restaurant, there are a few picnic tables if you're so inclined to dine outside! Several staff members at the UNC hospital recommended we give this place a try. So here are my thoughts: Service - 5 Stars! Its a drive thru establishment and they know how to pump out the food in less than 2 mins and keep the line moving fast! Food - 4 Stars! The biscuits are tender and Humongous! You gotta know what your doing when you eat this, and have your technique down on how to tackle these giants. I got the chicken biscuit w/egg and tomato. I would bump this rating up to a 5 if the chicken was cooked to order, but then you sacrifice the speedy service. It would be nice to have that option. Much better than Biscuitville! There's not really much to say about the location, it's a small unassuming drive-they spot. The service is what you'd expect. Established in 1978.

In brief, Sunrise was established in 1978 in Louisburg, NC (actually 1977 but that is a longer story) and has been responsible for providing Bigger Better Biscuits for Breakfast and Lunch ever since. Our biscuit recipe is based on my Grandmother's recipe. Her biscuits helped give her the stamina to give birth to 17 children and live almost to a 100! Our Award-Winning Chapel Hill location is a Drive-Thru Only Restaurant for your convenience. The Louisburg location features a Drive-Thru option as well as seating. Our regular customers particularly value our great food and fast, friendly service. In addition to biscuits, we also serve hamburgers and hot dogs. Our sandwiches include barbeque, chicken salad and tuna salad (chicken and tuna salad in Chapel Hill only and made on-site). A real southern treat is our sweet tea. Come by soon! Everything was fine until the hostess propped the door open. They left the door wide open and everyone in the front seating area was miserable. I asked if they could please close it and I was told no. They said the hostess stands by the door on game days. So they really don't care if their customers are comfortable or not. That says a lot. They certainly could've made adjustments given the cold and windy day. But our waitress was kind enough to move us when a table opened up in the back. That was a big relief and much more comfortable. Now to their food. The bacon cheese fries were great but didn't have bacon so we had to get them to bring back to sprinkle on top. The ranch was excellent and we all liked the app. My youngest got a grilled cheese which he enjoyed. My oldest got a burger which he said was okay, but nothing special. But the real disappointment comes in with the hot dogs. My first dog was cold, like unappetizingly cold. The waitress was very nice and took care of it immediately. However, the second dog came out almost immediately. If you like a boiled hot dog that's reheated in a microwave, you'll like their hot dogs. But I want a quality grilled hot dog. We'll stick to our ol' faithful CH burger joint from here on out. And I hope next time your customers are extremely uncomfortable on a freezing day sitting right next to the open door, you exercise some courtesy and close the door next time.

The sushis are nothing special here; a bit overpriced for their mediocre quality. However, we'd return to Mat Jib for its Korean corndogs. There are 4 kinds of corndogs you can choose from: 1. Potato + Hotdog (no cheese) - $8 2. Half Half (Half mozarella/ half hotdog - $7 3. Only Mozarella - $7 4. Only Hotdog - $6 As you can see, no matter what we choose, there seems to be something lacking depending on your choice. What if I want a full hotdog with cheese with my corndog? "Oh sorry, you can't have that!" What if I also want cheese if I choose the potato + hotdog option? "Oh sorry, that's not one of the choices either!" If you're going to sell a corndog for $7+, why not fill it up more? In our latest visit, we got 1 Half Half corndog to share. I was standing in front of the Mat Jib concession, waiting behind what I thought was a short line. But it turned out that those people were just waiting for their order and the employee standing in front just looked at me without saying a word. I went closer to the cashier, and ordered that Half Half corndog. She asked if I wanted ketchup and mustard placed on top of the corndog or on the side. I said on top. The service in Mat Jib was kind of slow. There were only about 2 to 3 customers waiting before me, and it took about 15 minutes for our corndog to be ready. We got the spicy popcorn chicken from Love Bao 5 minutes earlier than 1 corndog. Ridiculous! Mat Jib shares dining spaces with other food concessions here in H-Mart, so there's nothing special about its ambiance. It can get super crowded here on weekends, so it might be better to just take out a corndog or 2 than wait for vacancy. We didn't have issues finding a couple of seats on a Wednesday evening, however. We enjoyed the mozarella cheesiness of the corndog and how the breading is tasty with the mustard & ketchup. One thing that annoyed us was how the hotdog inside was little since it's half; it was more like a Vienna sausage. Nonetheless, it was the most delicious corndog we've devoured together, a more satisfying choice than Mat Jib's sushi rolls and most of what you can get from other food concessions in H-Mart - Cary. | Overall Score: 3.3/5
