Highly recommend including take-out. The portions will have you mixing and matching with your fridge contents for a variety of meals. So healthy and fresh. No frozen food at this space!!

I got a chicken that was very disappointing and dry however the sides were fantastic (potato salad and cucumber salad) service was very slow most likely due to school related activities and it being super busy. Ample seating and a nice condiments bar. Will probably come back to try again

I got some med deli on campus and as usual was huge portion size, fantastic, delicious, and flavorful food.

Mediterranean Deli makes a triumphant return to Franklin Street in Chapel Hill. Two years without the grilled chicken panini wrap was too long. My meal tasted like familiar perfection. I don't know what magic sauce they use but it slaps every time. Fresh, delicious, and affordable food. I can't overstate how happy I am that Med Deli is back. The refresh of decor inside looks lovely while also still feeling like the same place. The staff are working their butts off to meet the demand and deserve 5 stars alone for the hustle.

Food , service and Ambiance get five stars I believe Met Deli is the real deal. I've been coming here since my UNC days starting in 2008 and even though I'm now much farther away, I still make the drive. That says everything. This place has been a community staple for years, and I was so relieved when they reopened after the fire. The Mediterranean menu is unlike anything I've seen -- the selection is massive and everything is fresh and authentic. They also serve Turkish-style pizzas, bake their own bread daily, have a small grocery, and offer desserts. Don't skip the chocolate baklava -- perfectly baked, not too sweet, and generous with the pistachios. The owner is kind, engaged, and genuinely part of the Chapel Hill community. You One practical note: downtown Chapel Hill parking is no joke -- towing and ticketing are aggressive, so give yourself extra time to find a spot. Totally worth the effort though. If Yelp allowed ten stars, Met Deli would get every one of them.

Always delicious food no matter what you choose. Friendly staff will help you make great decisions. Nice little sidewalk area to eat on those warm sunny days.

They build up the place really good. Amazing ambiance. Me and my husband both enjoyed our food. I got Moroccan beef and my husband got falafel, hummus. We got mana-esh which was amazing. Ofcourse for us garlic emulsion is always a hit wi everything. We didn't like turkish kisir much as it was tangy for us. I didn't enjoy salad much either. I would prefer more seasonings in them.

I rushed out of RDU after landing solely because I was so excited to try Med Deli based on all the reviews. The experience did not disappoint! The menu is huge, which made ordering really tough. I stuck with a classic and ordered a chicken gyro pita with a side of tabouli. My food was ready in about 10-15 minutes. For ~$12, I got enough food to feed a family of three-four...the portion was absolutely massive! The chicken was cooked perfectly on top of a fluffy pita, and the tzatziki tied everything together. My only complaint was that it was really difficult to eat since there was too much on top of the pita to pick it up and eat it. I loved that there was a bar with olives, pickles, sauces, etc. to complement my meal. The large windows that open up to outside are great. I can't wait to come back and work my way through the menu and try some of the baked goods too!

This was my first visit to Mediterranean Deli. A friend of mine suggested that we visited this place for lunch. I'm glad that I went along with her recommendation. The customer service was great and the staff was helpful when we had questions. I ordered the Chicken Gyro and it was flavorful and filling. The gyro was filled with chicken, red onions, a lettuce mix and tomatoes with tzatziki sauce on top. There was no way I could have folded the pita with all of the ingredients in this meal. The ambiance of the deli was comfortable and airy. I enjoyed the fact that the deli opened up their large front windows/doors to allow fresh air to flow through the business. I plan to visit this restaurant again to try their kebobs.

I brought a friend today to try Med Deli. It was busy as usual. The service is always spot on and they have too many delicious and tempting choices to choose from. I settled on the chicken gyro. This sandwich is loaded with grilled chicken, veggies and creamy tasty sauce. The tzatziki sauce is the best version of this that I've tried. Loaded with flavor and you can even get an extra cup of this which I did.

This place literally blew me away. I entered through the grocery store side, where I bought cilantro, a yogurt drink we always drink overseas that I found here, and some other spices and snacks we normally have to go to specific stores for. When I got to the counter I peered over to the other side and was so overwhelmed by all the food in the glass case. It was BEAUTIFUL. Literally the most colorful and delicious looking food spread I ever saw. I haven't seen a place like this since I visited New York. They have everything. Literally everything. There's not a person that can come here and said they don't want anything. After their bakery window which includes various cookies, cakes, and pastries, you have two long windows of delicious food. They offer so many things to choose from like different pastas (tomato sauce, pesto, tortellini, etc.), rices (Tunisian rice, couscous, basmati rice, etc.) like 10 different kinds of salad including tuna and salmon, pastries with seafood, cheese, chicken, or spinach, so many kinds of hummus, potato salads, roasted vegetables, grape leaves, steak filled cabbage rolls, and more. All of it looked fresh and was presented beautifully too. At the very end you have different meat options like lamb shanks, jerk chicken, beef tagine (so good), and more. It's hard not to try everything. Especially with their big portions and great prices. I spent way less than I thought I was going to and you can also get everything in 1/4 cup side, 1/2 cup, or 1 whole cup. I got -Lamb shank that came with 2 sides: I chose Tunisian rice and roasted eggplant stew. -Doner kebab wrap and that came with 2 sides: I chose cheese tortellini and grape leaves. -Lamb gyro -Side of sardines -Side of beef tagine (AMAZING) -Side or couscous Everything I got tasted GREAT. Super flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. It's very impressive when a restaurant has so many options but they all actually taste good too. I always take pictures of everything but was so excited to eat my food I forgot. I would get everything again especially the beef tagine and lamb shank with different sides so I can sample everything.

This place is REALLY hard to find... it's behind the State Farm building, but there's barely any signage from the street. (Note: some photos here in Yelp seem to be from an older location.) We actually came one Saturday, but it was unexpectedly closed, but we caught them the following one, so good to call and confirm before driving over. You walk up to a door on the back, and scan a QR code to see the menu. Then knock on/ open the door and someone will come to take your order. Then you wait outside and they bring you your sandwiches. The lady who took our order was very friendly. The kitchen was rather large, so I suspect it's used for more than just this business. We ordered two turkey subs-- the East New York (which was slightly spicy) and the Dumbo. Wait time was maybe 7-10 minutes or so. Both sandwiches came nicely wrapped, and I think total cost was a little over $20. And conveniently, they take Apple Pay. These were not your Subway or Quiznos sandwiches-- these were DELICIOUS pressed sandwiches (we got them on focaccia. I personally liked the Dumbo the best-- it had a nice mix of flavors that meshed well. The East New York was solid and had a nice spiciness, but not quite as exciting overall. Would I come back? Probably, but since there's no seating, and it's a bit awkward, maybe not the first place I'd think to try, but again, the sandwiches were REALLY good. I do think it may be excellent for catering or for getting picnic sandwiches though.

We arrived around 5:45pm, and there was ample parking, but I will say the place was HOPPING by the time we left at 6:30pm. The decor is very cute-- old-style, good seating and a bar area as well. You order at the table, and food comes to you. My dining partner loved her sandwich (commented especially on the fig spread) and fries, and I really liked my meal as well. The side salad was surprisingly delicious, especially the addition of pickled red onion. The place was clean-- I went to the restroom, too, and everything was stocked well. Price was very fair. I've been going to this particular location at New Hope Commons for more than a decade now, not as frequently as before, but not rarely, and I notice there seems to be a slight downgrade when it comes to their food quality in recent years. I remember when in my first visits in Jason's Deli, every time I ordered a Reuben, the cashier would ask if I'd want regular or baked chips and my choice of side (usually I get French Onion soup, a fruit cup, or a side salad), but in my latest visit, I was not asked any of those. And what happened to the pickle dill that they usually include with the sandwich? Jason's Deli doesn't put that anymore. Yeah, sure you can get it from the Salad Bar, but it's usually included on your sandwich plate. I also prefer baked chips over regular, so when I got the regular chips I was slightly disappointed. I usually order the full Original Reuben (Corned Beef, not Pastrami) sandwich but they also have Manager's Special which comes with half of any sandwich of your choice + a cup of soup, which is not a bad combo for a slightly cheaper price. While the amount of beef in my latest visit was good, the Reuben in my sandwich tasted a bit cold as if it wasn't heated enough. The amount of kraut was good, and the Thousand Island dressing in the sandwich was fine. However, one corner of the rye bread was soggy, leaving me disappointed as I pondered how better Jason's Deli used to be. Jason's Deli's salad bar is decent with a good variety of toppings, cheeses, and dressings you can add. You'll have to pay additional if you want to add protein though. I tried having chicken breasts in the salad, and it tasted okay. You can get the Side Salad added to your sandwich order for about $6 or if you want a bigger plate, you can get the Garden Fresh Salad Bar for about $11.45. Both options are fairly price. They also have other specialty salads I haven't tried, so if you enjoy eating salads, you might enjoy Jason's Deli. Fettuccini Alfredo is not bad but not great. Don't expect it to be like Carabba's; it's a cheaper pasta but fairly priced; it comes with chicken and two pieces of bread, sauce is creamy enough. Chicken quality is better than its Italian neighbor, NY Pizza at New Hope Commons. My girl also enjoyed the penne with meatballs and marinara sauce. I also tried their wraps a few times such as the Ranchero Wrap, which is a Mexican-style wrap Southwest spices. Wraps and most of the foods in their menu are healthier than an average fast food chain. They also have a good variety of typical soups like Broccoli & Cheese, French Onion, Chili, and some Noodle Soups, so overall, menu items are what you'd expect from a deli chain. This Jason Deli location is at the center of New Hope Commons, close to the bus stop where many homeless people wait, and at one time, I saw a couple of them freely enter the restaurant without paying for food, and just eating the complimentary ice cream Jason Deli has for its customers. This is probably why they put coded locks for the bathroom doors: To prevent non-customers from accessing them. Overall, place looks spacious enough, even if it could get packed during Sunday lunchtime. Jason's Deli's soda machine and sweet tea options are convenient. Sweet teas are freshly-brewed, and fantastic with lemon. The complimentary soft-served ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, or a mix of both) with the small cones or cup is nice but at one of our more recent visits, the ice cream machine was down. Food was served fast, and someone brings it to your table, and someone also cleans them up, so overall, customer service is fine. The main reason we go to a Jason's Deli is for the Great Reuben, which is sadly, no longer great; hopefully, management will be able to improve overall quality of it. Back in the day, I used to have lunch breaks here every time I hang out in the Barnes & Noble nearby. It's still the best place to get food in this New Hope Commons shopping area but that's not saying much since there's not a lot of other options here: There's a NY Pizza place, a Subway inside Walmart, a Philly Steak spot that seemed to have shut down, so I'm thankful that there's still a Jason's Deli here.
