Churros filled with dulce de leche. Why are people not talking about these?!
    Libby F.

The stars were aligned today. At least my travel route was. I was on Georgia Avenue after two items to tick off, and this place was just two miles up the road. Two miles! First off, this place is NOT in the huge Aspen Hill Shopping Center. It is in the Aspen MANOR Shopping Center. A few doors down from Outback, next to Domino's. Go find it. NOW! I was bummed when I found out Brazilian Bakery on New Hampshire Ave. closed because that was sort of on my way home from work. I loved their piping hot, made to order Churros. Well, guess what? This location has them too! However, not made to order, but still delicious. And yes, they are filled with dulce de leche. And yes, they are only $1.50 each. So much cheaper than fancy area restaurants pawning them off for $8.00 or more cut in thirds. Get one. No, get two. Three! Yes, tres! Don't forget to check out their other pastries and savory treats. The Pastel del Queijo, or simply Cheese Empanada is delicious too. Mine was warm. The cheese was ooey, gooey good. They remind me of my Chilean friend's cheese empanadas. These are $4.25, but meal worthy. So many choices. Come see for yourself. I want to see this place back on the Yelp radar.

    Coxinha

The coxinha is increíble. The dough was hot, fresh and soft. The chicken inside was so well seasoned. The pão de queijo was actually alright. I think if you go there in the morning when everything come out fresh, they would be super delicious. It's definitely a hidden gem in the area. Also I realized that their customers are mostly latinos, and I know it is gonna be goooood.

i love coming here whenever i can, they got guaraná, coxinha, pão de queijo, risoles de presunto e queijo and many candies like 7belo, mousse de maracujá etc. one thing that bothers me is the customer service, usually they look unhappy and treat you as such. other than that the place does its job with great food (as well as for the buffet). the decoration is very nice and the tv plays some channels like globo and sbt lol

Fresh French bread, 3 rolls for $1.

Pleasantly surprised to discover this local source for daily fresh French rolls, 6am -9pm. Also, they make delicious empanadas - my favs are the beef (pastel de carne) and chicken (coxinha de frango) ones.

Delicious - varieties of risoles, coxina and pastels

Still amazing! Any spot that has been around this long definitely sends a sign. Food is ALWAYS good. Customer service is eh but maybe the cashier had a bad day. They still offer fresh food and pastries and the Risoles...a savory treat.

I was on my way home and noticed the sign for this place mentioned Brazilian/African food and looked it up on yelp only to find one picture and no recent reviews. I felt it my duty to return the next day and try some of the items mentioned in the reviews and to take a bunch of pics! I started with the items that previous reviewers talked about like the meat patties, the yucca, the cheese bread, etc... I also tried the sandwich with all the works and it didn't disappoint. Cheese Bread....very good, flaky crust and ooey gooey cheesy goodness. Meat pattie.....great bread, meat a little dry and could have used more spice Coxinha...filled to overflowing with chicken, very yummy but needed some kind of dipping sauce or more seasoning. Ham and Cheese pastry....one of my favorites and would go great with spicy mustard Yucca "pastry"....decent but a bit dry and also needed some kind of sauce. I really wanted to dip it in the hot sauce mayo based sauce that you get from Crisp N Juicy. Hot dog wrapped in some of starchy food and deep fried....good with mustard or catsup. The number 8 Sandwich with had everything but the kitchen sink on it and it was so good, the corn somehow worked on this sandwich. I wouldn't change a thing. I also grabbed some short ribs and a kebab from the hot bar and the short ribs just made my eyes roll. Awesome! Dessert....a yucca, cheese "cake" It was a bit odd and different and not sweet at all but I liked it. It was great with some hot coffee. The first time I went in the cashier wasn't too knowledgeable about the offerings but we went back the next day and the cashier knew her stuff. I posted pics of the interior and the food that I got so take a look to get an idea of what I'm referring to. I'm not too familiar with Brazilian food but I look forward to trying more items and I will update and add more pictures when I do. I do recommend you give it a try. Cheap (about $2.00/pc) for the hand held goodies and the sandwich was around 7 bucks. I hope to see more reviews so I can know what to order next time.

Homemade is the best. Fresh and tasty. The gentleman at the register was pleasant and didn't mind explaining to me the desserts. So many people with the language barrier get frustrated but they were kind and inviting. Desserts were all fresh!

This Brazilian bakery is located in a plaza next to Outback Steakhouse, Autozone and Lotte supermart in Aspen Hill. I almost missed it as didn't notice a sign along with those "bigger names". I stopped by to grab some "salgadinhos" but turns out that they make some of their goodies in enormous size such as their coxinhas (like a croquet) and pão de queijo (cheese bread). Sadly they had run out of pudim that day so I opted for a couple brigadeiros (chocolate fudge balls - a staple at b-day parties). I also took a pastel and rissole to go, which hit the spot later on. They also serve various other foods (sandwiches and feijoada) and is a good place to pick up some Brazilian stuff such as coffee, Guarana, chocolates, etc. I like the open seating and TV w/Brazilian programming.

    French bread

It's so unfortunate to see how a business goes down hill in aspect of the quality of their products. Their French bread use to be one of the best but it seems as demand increased the quality decreased. The bread is now over baked and when you attempt to cut it..it crumbles.

It's a huge spot with a number of tasty global eats, including Thai, Brazilian, West African, and Mexican of course! ;) Residents of 8200 Dixon get 10% off every meal since it's directly connected to the building. There's pool tables, several TVs, foosball tables, checkers, chess and just about anything gaming related spread throughout for fun. Oftentimes on the weekends, there's a DJ spinning and local vendors doing pop ups. Big games (NFC championship, March Madness, NBA finals) get a lot of activity here, so it's best to arrive early to nab a prime "bar seat". While it's lacking in "full arcade" games like D&B, it's way cleaner and a better "grown up" option than the former. Meals run from $9-18 on average which won't break the bank. People often come here to WFH since it's generally quiet during the work day. I wish they'd add a coffee spot (sorry local biz, but Starbucks would make a KILLING HERE, I'd personally spend $100 easy lmaoo) but overall no complaints!

They were all so friendly and informative! Their juices are amazing! So refreshing and we ended up ordering twice lol I got some Thai food (sweet potato noodle Korean stir-fry) that looked beautiful with a large portion. The flavor lacked depth but was still worth it My absolute FAV?! The street corn fire grilled PIZZA!! I even customized it and added Birria meat and it was amazing!! We tried the African inspired ice cream for dessert and the flavors were so unique!! A little on the pricey side but with the ingredients, it's understandable!! Each person was so friendly and attentive! So much space to choose seating and they have multiple options! Games to play and TV's to watch. They also have a HUGE bar and we heard about their happy hour specials. They do have a Mocktail list as well! Highly recommend!

Because of an unexpected change of plans, we decided to have a weekend dinner here, and it turned out to be a great decision - based on the food and service. What really worked for us was that the restaurant has a few outdoor tables, and the outdoor seating is dog-friendly. First, the restaurant has a pretty extensive menu with diverse options. I will admit that I was a bit overwhelmed when the waitress mentioned all of the specials for the evening. It seemed as the list kept going, going and going. Also, the restaurant has a dinner special for about 35 bucks that includes either a 3 course meal or a 2 course meal + a glass of wine. For my dining pleasure, I went with the baked (or maybe it was broiled) flounder that was served with potatoes and green beans. Overall, I thought my meal was absolutely delicious. I do wish the portions were slightly larger. Overall, I thought the service was absolutely wonderful. Our waitress was very friendly and constantly checked in with us to make sure everything was going well. Although we visited around 5:30 pm on a Saturday, I was a bit surpised with how crowed the restaurant became around 6:30 pm. If you are planning to visit around this time, I highly recommend making reservations even though this section of Wheaton can be relatively quiet. Also, the restaurant seems to be very popular with the eldery community. During our visit, I'd say the average age of diners was somewhere in the 60s.
