We tried this place once and we've been ordering multiple times a week ever since, literally! The spicy penne is a garlic, tomatoey, heaven. The pizzas are made with delicious cheese and fresh crust. This is by far my favorite Italian Restaurant in Orange County, although the restaurant itself is quite quaint, the food is marvelous! I checked out this pizza spot the other night after seeing the 5 star yelp rating and reviews so i decided to give it a shot. Now let me say that I'm a pizza fanatic and could eat pizza everyday. So needless to say ive had alot of pizza in my life. Im also originally from NYC and in the 7 years ive been living in SoCal ive had some good pizza but never found anything quite like back home. Now im not gonna go as far to say this is the best pizza ive ever had BUT what i will say is that this is the best pizza ive ever had on the west coast. And im the guy who eats pizza 2-3 times a week and is always on the search for new spots all over the OC and LA. Originally i had planned on going to their sit down restaurant but yelp took me to their take spot instead. Since i was already there i just ordered a pepperoni pizza and fettuccini alfredo pasta with chicken to go. And man oh man where these reviews right. This place is amazing! Their ingredients are so fresh and everything was so delicious! And the owner was super nice as well which is always nice to see someone whos so welcoming and polite. It was about a 20 minute drive from where i loce to get here but was well worth the travel and will definitely be doing it again. 5 stars and they deserve it! read more

So tired of Pizza Press, Mod, Pielogy and all those establishments where it's as if we are eating ingredients on tortillas burnt all over the place. We wanted to have some "real" pizza for a change. And luckily with the help of Yelp, my kid and I discovered this wonderful friendly place where the slice actually holds and the dough is perfectly cooked with wonderful fresh ingredients. Although my kid had to wait 30mins for a pizza, it was all worth it - according to my kid who's really picky! So even though I would ordinarily have taken off a star, I thought it wasn't warranted in this case; she left me a half eaten slice and I completely agreed with her! Hubby and I LOVED the chicken marsala and rigatoni pasta with meat sauce! This was our first time here and we will be back. The portions are large which is nice to split with another lucky person and the service is very friendly. Great Italian food! Went here on a whim just to grab a pizza late night and was super impressed with the place. The owner, Mark explained some of the main menu items and was extremely friendly. They have a few tables outside if you want to eat there with a tv facing the outside. We sat outside and while waiting Mark brought out complimentary cups of the minestrone soup and a couple of pieces of garlic bread. The minestrone soup was amazing! It was very flavorful with big chunks of potato and broccoli in it along with other veggies. He said it is a 7 step process to make that soup and I believe it! The garlic bread was light and crispy, not too garlicky. There dough is made from scratch a couple times each day. We got a pepperoni pizza and it was yummy! Perfect amount of sauce, nice and cheesy and not shy on the pepperoni! We will be back to try the pastas and the margarita pizza. read more

The pizza at Brava Cucina is delicious. We visited after seeing the yelp ratings, and they are well deserved. Before Mark told us anything about his kitchen, we could taste it in the pizza. Refreshing is the best word to describe it. Crust was crunchy outside and fluffy and chewy inside. Sauce was aromatic with great flavor. Cheese was gooey and melty. Mark knows what he's doing and Brava Cucina stands out from many independent pizza joints we've eaten from. A few weeks ago we had a great dinner here. Not enough of the reviews mention that this is mostly a take-out restaurant - very little ability to accommodate people who want to eat there - a few small tables out in front but no wait staff. Probably ok for eating pizza there, but you'd be happiest bringing the food home. And the menu has great variety (full Italian menu, not just pizza,) and what we had was super-tasty. But I need to tell you about tonight. We moved out here from Connecticut a goodly number of years ago, and one of the things we've missed badly is clam pizza from Frank Pepe's Restaurant in New Haven, CT. We can't figure out why it hasn't become popular out here, yet clam pizza is by far the most famous food item in Connecticut. And the taste is simply wonderful. Well, Mark (owner) got interested when we told him about it, and volunteered to investigate, experiment, and produce clam pizza for us. It took him a few days of experimentation, and he even called and asked us to come in and taste the experiments, and provide comments to help move it in the right direction. Tonight we got the results - an absolutely wonderful clam pizza which was incredibly close to Frank Pepe's, and would stand on its own against any pizza we've ever had. Congrats to Mark, the owner, and Frank the chef - this is customer service like we've never experienced. It could become a menu item at some point. At any rate, if you want to try a clam pizza give Mark a call and ask about it. We will certainly be going back for more. And more! read more

I have been wanting to try this place since it opened. I was coming home from Fairhaven Memorial Park and decided to call in my order. I was told to hold it would be a couple of minutes. They don't actually place you on hold they set the phone down so you can hear everything going on. After a couple of minutes I placed my cellphone on speaker and drove to the location. After 10 minutes of hearing chatter, I hung up. Still wanting to give it a go when I arrived I told the gentleman behind the counter he could hang up the phone. I could tell he was a bit embarrassed. He tried to play it off that I called during a busy time and it was a good time to come in. I was thinking if I had been able to place my order it would be that much quicker to being done. So I order lasagna and chicken parmesan. He stated he would put in the order and have it rushed. I got home and found the lasagna nothing to write home about (only on yelp). The chicken, however, must have been microwaved, or something. It was a large slice. The first part had some parts that tasted a little underdone and the second half was tough as leather and inedible so I threw it out. It's a shame really I was hoping it to be good. True they were busy and had what appeared a stream of folks coming in, but based on my experience (and only on my experience) I will not be returning. If you are a true foodie, it's a given that your quest is to find great food. But, when you can find great food coupled with service so good that you feel like you're a member of their family, well, THAT is the Holy Grail! Brava Cucina is one of those places! When we found BC on Yelp, we were impressed that it had 5 stars and was family owned. But, we missed that their Chapman location (they have another restaurant on Tustin in Orange) was mostly for take-out. That was a blessing as, if we hadn't come, we would have missed the true pleasure of meeting the owner, Mark. From beginning to end, Mark could not have been more gracious. He explained everything about his menu, his family and his philosophy. Like family, he keep bringing out things for us to taste (no charge) just so we would have an appreciation for his food. And what food!!! Everything was delicious! You could taste the freshness of the tomatoes and the long hours of simmering on the stove to meld the flavors. We had two pasta dishes that were as good as anything we've had in Italy. I won't tell you what we had because I'd encourage anyone who reads this to experiment on their own. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. And, if you do take-out, when was the last time you arrived to pick up your pizza and the person behind the counter told you exactly how long it would be before your pizza would come out of the oven?
