This is probably Tustin's best kept secret! My husband and I eat out every week and love to try new places. The service was top notch! The owner was so friendly and even returned a few dollars for an oversight in pricing. So honest! The food was fresh and delicious. The salad was crispy and included lots of extra touches like olives, garbanzo beans, and fresh cut tomatoes. The sandwich bread was toasted just perfect and the parmesan chicken was delicious covered in a generous amount of cheese. The TV was on with World Cup for customer entertainment and volume was just right for dining. The restaurant and restroom were exceptionally clean! Got delivery from them on a Saturday night and it was a great experience! I called an hour and a half in advance and was able to pay over the phone and schedule a delivery. Their driver arrived on time and had no trouble finding my residence. The pizzas were tasty, we got the Margarita, Garlic Chicken and the Deluxe. I had first tried this place 25 years ago. They used to deliver to my apartment down the street from them. I moved away but moved back to the area and was happy to see that they're still around. I ordered and pre-paid for 2 jumbo pizzas for a class party with more than 24 hours notice. When I arrived to pick them up they hadn't even started them. The three kids working the front were standing around chatting and the restaurant was completely empty. The cashier said "Oops, sorry. We can make them right now." They were able to get them done within about 20 minutes, but it made me late with the food to my event. Even though their jumbo size is convenient, I'd rather order more pizzas from Valentino's and actually get them on time with way better customer service. read more

Been coming here religiously over the last year or so. So much so, that when I call, they say "is this Frankie?!" I get the same thing every time and every time it's amazing. I ask for a small modification and they were happy to oblige. I grew up in an Italian Restaurant. Worked in a Central Rome inspired kitchen. With the chef yelling at and hugging me at the same time. I know good pizza. And this pizza is ONE of my ONLY 2 spots I go to get some! Reading some of the reviews. I can't even believe the audacity of some people. Who cannot understand that humans are allowed imperfection every now again. And these folks are nice enough to make up for any appropriate and reasonable requests. Politeness goes along way! Reach out instead of yelping a one time experience that wasn't exactly what YOU expected. The people are as amazing as the pizza is. I've dabbled with the Fettuccine Alfredo a few times as well. Did not disappoint. Very reasonably priced for fresh ingredients that you can see right in front of your eyes, as they have an open kitchen. I can see why Italian Express has been a staple of the community for so long. Their food is great. We ordered the pesto chicken pasta for pick up, and when we got it home, the past was still piping hot. The portions were quite big and was enough to feed two of us and then some. With large chunks of chicken and a tasty pesto sauce, what's not to like. The workers are friendly and welcoming. Plenty of seating if you come and dine in, with a robust menu of different items like pasta, sandwiches, and pizzas. We will definitely be back to try the rest of their menu read more

Love that this is a mom and pop shop. We decided to try and order two, one-tipping pizzas. On a Friday night they were able to finish the pizzas in 15 min. They have interesting sizing here it is something like: personal, jumbo, extra jumbo? We got 2 extra jumbo one topping pizzas for pickup for around $35. The pizza was on the oily side and we thought was just ok for the price. The crust was "normal" (not too thick or not too thin), had good chew, but lacked flavor. Perhaps if you can find a coupon it would be more of a value. 7/26/24 update: Ordered delivery via DoorDash. The restaurant did an extremely poor job packing the food for delivery. Contents were wet and soggy. See pictures. The gravy had spilled over, there was grease all over. Pathetic; lost appetite thereafter. Also the custom create your own Make Your Own Pasta had zero taste and I had to make my own gravy at night to consume this item. Restaurant needs to significantly improve on its flavors. In the not so negative side, the spinach ravioli pasta in orange sauce was decent. Pasta primavera needs flavors. 2.5 stars for food, zero starts for packing. See pictures. read more
