We come to Lynchburg often, to visit our kids at school. We saw this place while taking an afternoon drive. We are so glad we stopped! As a table, we ordered the Brauburger, the Brats, onion rings, fries, coleslaw and German potato salad. With the exception of the potato salad, which should be served warm, it was awesome! UPDATE: Fourth try yesterday and I am updating my rating to a five-star! Ordered my burger medium and emphasized to the server that I really reeeeally wanted to see a little pink in the middle. Sure enough, it came out so juicy and flavorful that I didn't even add ketchup or mustard (my usual burger go-to's). Honestly one of the tastiest burgers I've ever had! Definitely will be back!!! ............... {initial review} I love the new location on Rivermont because it's in our neighborhood and the patio is fabulous, but after 3 tries (two dine in and a third takeout), I feel compelled to leave a review in hopes that the owner will take the constructive critique seriously and make some adjustments. Every single burger we've ordered thus far has been notably over cooked. The first time, we made the mistake of asking for medium well, and what we got were black, shrunken patties that were barely edible. Bummer but they'd just opened so we attributed it to a one-time glitch, and our server kindly took them off the bill. The next two visits we ordered our burgers medium, and both times all burgers hadn't a trace of pink- they were thoroughly well done and fairly dry. Honestly, I'm debating if I should ask for rare next time just to see what comes out. Also, they gave us potato buns instead of brioche in our order today- not a deal breaker, but it doesn't help our already less-than-wowed feelings. For the money, I feel like I can get a thicker, juicier, and more accurately-cooked burger at Red Robin, Five Guys, or honestly even Wendy's (I know, ouch). I'm bummed guys! Party of 2. Showed up, name on the list. 20 minute wait with 5 or 6 tables open? Okay... Entire families show up after us and are seated before us-- no res., just piss poor communication between hostesses/waitresses. Finally get seated--at a table with the dish rag still on it. Hostess that sat us asked for our drink order, never said or did anything about the table or the rag, or the food all over it. Amazed, we waited for drinks. She comes back, hands us the drinks, LEAVES THE DISH RAG, and says our waitress will be with us at some point. We got our shit and left. TLDR Name on the list, but they seat whoever whenever because reading is hard; seated at a disgusting table with the dirty rag still sitting on it. I don't even know what happened. No explanation. Brauburgers wasn't mind blowing, but it's quite good for the price. My friends who know beer better than I do assure me their selection is quite good (they also particularly mentioned the chocolate/peanut butter beer that's available as being worth checking out) I ordered their cheeseburger with most of the toppings and added pork belly to it. I definitely recommend the brau burger sauce in particular. The burger was very good, not the best I've had, but well worth it's cost (about 6 dollars alone, 8 for a combo which includes slaw and fries). The fries themselves are also very good. Service wasn't anything special, nor was it bad. Same goes for the overall feel of the place. With the TVs, it felt like any small sports bar to me. read more

This is the best restaurant ever. While the burger I got wasn't my favorite, I could tell they were quality ingredients and I'll definitely be back to try something else. Loved the SouthWest burger and sweet-potato waffle fries. All three of us enjoyed the burger. Loved it is a better review. Waffles for sweet-potatoes cooked just perfect as most places can't get sweet potatoes crunchy. Would visit again. We sat outside as it was cool enough. I really wish I had a good experience here because the atmosphere of the restaurant is great. First, one of the hostesses is about to seat us, then picks up the phone. Multiple parties who arrived after us were helped by the other hostess during this time. Five minutes later, she is still on the phone so I went up to the other hostess asking to be seated. She said the last table was just taken. After finally being seated, our waitress could not find menus for us. She came back 20 minutes later with their old menu that had a bunch of items crossed out in Sharpie since it was their "rough draft" menu. I ask for a chocolate banana milkshake and ten minutes later she comes back saying they don't have banana ice cream left. We finally got our burgers which were really good, just kind of small. After attempting to flag down our waitress multiple times we ask for a pie off the menu, five minutes later she comes back and said they ran out. At that point we just asked for the check. I was so sad to have such a bad experience at this place. The burgers were pretty good but terrible customer service. read more

Love this place! Went for the second time last night. Lynchstock was happening across the street and so the restaurant was bogged down and understaffed. However, our server was awesome, fast, and super friendly despite being at the end of a 12-hour shift. We had to wait quite a while for our food (this didn't happen our first visit), but the manager, Phil, came out and personally apologized. He gave us 25% off our ticket, and free desserts! Some people complain about the service but it seems they are making a big effort to improve it. We were very satisfied. But the bottom line is: AMAZING burgers. AMAZING fries. Do it. read more

This is for the new location on Rivermont Ave since they don't have a page up yet: Wait a month or so before visiting the new location while they figure things out! Based on reviews of the original in Forest, the new location was extremely disappointing. There were a lot of workers around, but not much actually happening. Many of the servers congregated in the back and just socialized for the majority of my party's time in the restaurant. I guess if you're going to work to hang out with your friends, at least do it in the server's station where you're not disrupting FOH. It took quite a bit for our food to arrive, and then the fries were cold. I wasn't super impressed with my burger, but I got a plain veggie burger, so I guess that's partially my fault! (If you do go veggie/vegan though, I hope you like lentils!) There was even a sign right when you walk in apologizing for the potential for rocky service. I just feel like that's setting up the experience for failure. I've worked in the service industry before, so I empathize that there's a margin of error whenever opening a new place, but I really hope they get things fixed up soon! 2.5/5 read more

Let me start off by saying they have amazing burgers! I give the burgers 5 stars. I give my last 3 experiences there 2 stars... for an average of 3.5. I've been 4 times total. The first time was excellent - my husband and I decided to try it for the first time and loved it! The second time I went with a coworker. The server sat us in the partial outside space and she was not proactive. I'm not sure if it's due to us being the only ones out there but it was very hard to locate her, our drinks were barely refilled, and our food took a while. This was extra disappointing because it was cold and we were on a time limit due to being on our lunch break. Plus I had raved about the place to my co-worker. We work downtown, but made the 20-25 minute trip. She never apologized or anything - we ate our food, pay the bill, and went back to work. My third time there I went with my husband and another couple. They were having live music that night. Not that we don't like live music, but the space is very limited for live music to be going on. Not to mention we were sat right beside the guy. We ordered our food, we waited, got a break from the music when the guy took a break, received our food, and the order was messed up. Everyone with missing their bacon, two of us were missing or cheese, and we had to ask for the sauces we asked for on the side multiple times. We were polite, figured they were busy, gave everyone the benefit of the doubt, ate our food, paid our bill, and left. My fourth experience was just about a week ago. It was a Sunday afternoon. I went in and told them that I had a total of six people - 4 adults, one kid, and would need a sling for a car seat if they had one. The hostess immediately looked at me and said, "we are full right now. I don't have a table" and had a long pause. When I asked her how long the wait would be she looked around looked at me, looked around again and said I don't know we are full. I said, we will wait. I then asked her if she like my name and informed her that we would be waiting outside. This was disappointing because I the customer had to be proactive in putting my name on the waitlist, she never offered. While we waited we watch multiple people leave and a few people come in. After about 15 minutes and realizing the people who went in never came out, I went in and reminded her that I was outside. She immediately looked puzzled. I am guessing it's because there was a table, but she sat those other people that just came in. I am sure she could tell that I was annoyed. I went back outside and sat on the bench. After a few minutes she came outside and said that she wanted to place us in the outside part but she was waiting on that party to leave and had no idea when they were going to leave. She then went on to say that she didn't have another table big enough for us. Although we could have fit at the table she had just that the other party we didn't say anything and agreed to a booth. The young lady apologized multiple times. I'm pretty sure that she realize what she did was wrong and that it could be taken as racial discrimination, as we were the only African-American party. Right before she came out we were actually discussing leaving. We took the booth and ordered our food. Once again they forgot our bacon. We had asked for the condiment multiple times. My husbands boneless wings were nothing more than Tyson chicken wings out of the bag... And not to mention that the waitress asked the little girl with us multiple times if she wanted to wash dishes to pay for the meal. I politely commented that she did not have to wash dishes to pay for her meal or our meal, and she would never have to! We discuss this at our table and spoke about how with everything going on right now it could be taken very racial, but we gave her the benefit of the doubt and said that she was just trying to make small talk with the child and did not mean anything by it. At least I hope she didn't! I'm just glad it with us and not someone that would be bitter - that conversation could have went very bad! As I've said before - the burgers (not the chicken) are great! The service could really use some work. I'm not asking that the African-American community he treated any differently in terms of receiving special treatment - but it would be nice to know that we are respected and honored just like everyone else will post to their door. My family is very hard-working for every dollar we have and expect to be treated fairly and with respect. We also like our orders correct. After waiting for about 10 minutes without being acknowledged by anyone on staff, I sat down. The restaurant was packed and there were only 2 servers on the floor, including the bar. The sweet potato fries here are the best I've ever had, although all of their fries are worth the calories! They also have good beers on tap, and the wings are great! Brauburgers is my favorite burger joint in Lynchburg! They have great black bean burgers that are a great alternative to those with dieting / health restrictions. Pros: The hostess (Autumn) was nice and asked if I wanted my food to go or if I wanted to eat in...I wasn't even thinking about to go...but I decided to take it to go...big mistake! She said it would be ready in about 5 minutes at 4:26 (per the receipt...continued in the cons below) The sauce was very tasty Cons: Like many I decided to pass my time by getting on social media...I think we all know how easy it is to lose track of time. By the way there were 5 cars or less in the parking lot when I came in...staff way out numbered patrons. At around 4:50 I realized that well over 5 minutes had passed so I asked Autumn the status of my order...she went to check...long story short: 5 minutes turned into more than 25, the bun was soggy by time I ate it 10 minutes later (I got the sauce on the side), the burger was edible (that's all I'm going to say about that!) and no napkins, glad I had some from Papa John's in my glove compartment...this place was a major disappointment to say the least! I'm being generous in giving them a 2! The first time I went was just after graduation. My boyfriend an I decided to try the Hawaiian burger. It was surprisingly good! If you like sweet and tangy, you'll enjoy it. Our friend got the classic Brauburger and wouldn't stop raving about the brauburger sauce (he still does, sometimes). The fries were perfect. Just the right amount of crunch on the outside. We all loved the atmosphere. It could easily be a family restaurant or a chill place to hang with the gang. I really got a kick out of the cardboard animal head mounts. It has BBQ sauce, bacon, vidalia onion and gouda. Nice soft bun and I really like the flavors, they all blended well together. Great place for burgers and beer. Stopped here after a round of golf and enjoyed a craft beer. The menu looked good, but I was in the mood for a burger so I did not stray. The food was great. Outside seating is a little cramped. I like a little more elbow room. I was disappointed to find the smoking area just outside the front door.
