Service was good, wasn't crowded at all because we went on a Sunday at 2pm. The order came out promptly. The fries were extra crispy and slightly chewy, just how I like them. Chicken Caesar wrap was really good, tasted freshly made. Only thing I'd do different is order a side of Caesar dressing to dip it in as I didn't think there was enough dressing on the wrap itself. Food was really good exceeded my expectations. My otdrt was to go staying at Hotel next door atmosphere was pleasant not to loud.

First time at this place. Close to hotel so I thought I would give it a try. I had the Cajun wings and a salad. Salad was good. Wings were not. Came out in like 3 minutes so I knew something was wrong. Tasted like they were premade and put in a microwave to heat up. No flavor and wings tasted old. I ate as much as I could chock down. Upon arrival into Lynchburg, my niece and nephew came here on a Thursday night to grab some food. It wasn't crowded so we found a table easily. We actually sat close to the live entertainment; which was a saxophonist. He was really good but it was kind of odd to see this at what I consider to be a sports bar. HCP was the first restaurant we ever tried while visiting the area over a year ago. For the most part food/service has been consistent but lately I have noticed some drop off. Nothing insane but just little things. Recent visit I ordered buffalo wings and tots. Guess what l?' They were out of tots!!! I was devastated. My nephew had a flatbread pepperoni pizza and fries and my niece had the bbq pork fries. They enjoyed their food. They even had dessert... I know , I am the best auntie!!! Lol My wings were sent back bc they weren't well done. When they arrived back for the second time , they were practically burnt but at least had a nice flavor. I had a really nice , drinkable IPA to wash down my wings. I love their beer selection here. Draft and can beer options available. Our server was slightly forgetful. We had to ask for a few things a couple of times. The service wasn't horrible but could have been better. Overall , 6/10 (that's what's my niece said) lol I also came back here the night before I left town. HCP is so convenient and my hotel was so close that I could have walked. This visit I sat at the bar since I was alone. The bar service is just way better in my opinion. The bartenders were all cool and made nice drinks. I had a yummy dirty martini and for food I just ordered some potato skins to snack on. They were massive and enough to share with like 3 or 4 people! If you love bacon like me, they were loaded with bacon. This is a great app!!! Although I dropped one star from my previous review, HCP is still a good spot to grab a drink , watch some sports and get some decent food. Really unassuming spot that looks like a repurposed arby's or something - however deceptively good. Menu is straightforward pub grub... but a cut above the normal. Hamburgers, chicken philly, and ruben were devoured by our party. Also they were super dog friendly which I appreciate since we were on-the-road craving something better than take-out. My husband and I stopped in here last night after a long drive from NY. The location is super convenient, as it is right next door to the hotel. Staff were friendly and welcoming. There is outside dining for those who do not want to be inside with deafening music (good music if you're in the mood for music). A strong locals vibe. The reason this only gets 3 stars is because the food was not so great and the beer was luke warm. My husband said his burger was dry and tasted as though it was premade then microwaved. I had a Philly cheese steak. I asked for mushrooms but did not see or taste any on the sandwich. Sandwiches were served with a bag of chips, not fries which I find odd for evening meals and for a bar. Not sure if chips and warm canned beer is a Southern thing or what, but I recommend taking a drive to another dining establishment. Do any restaurants in the south carry bottled beer??? read more

Let me start by saying that despite the circumstances, the wait staff did the best they could and we appreciate their help. I had been in touch with HCP since February 2025 with Stephanie Carter the manager. I asked if they could accommodate our large group of 25 for a casual "rehearsal" dinner the night before my wedding and she assured me that they could. In May, I asked if a separate reservation could be made for 7 family members, and she assured me that it could be and they could set the tables up in anyway we wanted. Now, come Saturday night, I hadn't gotten email responses from Stephanie in a week so I went 30 minutes before our reservation to make sure everything was set up. I came to learn that Stephanie, the manager, was not there and never told the wait staff working that such a big party was coming so not enough people were working nor were ANY tables set up. Thus, service was slow and we were not paid a lot of attention too. Food was eh, the night before we went and a family member got sick from the pulled pork sandwich. Oh, and they pour their drinks super super light and when ordering one drink more than once, don't count on it tasting the same at all. The coffee had stuff floating in it too.... Don't trust them to set anything up even if you tell them ahead of them and they say they will. The manager never followed up or showed up. Sigh. read more

Solid food in a big open space. First thing I like is open space and cleanliness. Also... different channels on the many tvs. Something for everyone. It was a slow afternoon for them and service was quick, efficient and the food was delicious. Just had a basic Turkey Rachel which is toasted rye bread, thousand island dressing and turkey. Went here with a handful of friends and was served promptly. The servers were nice and attentive and the menu had many options available. The only gripe I had with this place was the quality of the food received. I got the loaded steak and cheese and fries that came out to around 12 ish dollars. The cheesesteak was anything but loaded and the meat was so finely minced it might as well have been ground beef. The peppers and cheese were also minced into the sandwich and the bread was so oily that it was falling apart in my hands. Everything at this establishment is just a tad bit oversalted. The fries had massive chunks of salt on them. I've heard of flaky finishing salt but this salt was more akin to rock salt. All in all great service but somewhat lackluster food. Pub / sports bar Hill City Pub is in an unlikely spot on Wards road which has been a few different places now. The place is good sized with the added bonus of outdoor seating - with that said, the view is pretty much strip malls and hotels. Lots of bar seating inside and plenty of TVs available for patrons to keep their eye on their favorite sport. Bartender was very good and made some good drinks. Bravo for that. The food on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired. Sysco's finest is pretty much what you are getting here with frozen items reimagined into whatever you order. Nachos were meh - they use some sort of liquid cheese and it makes the chips turn into a sog-fest. Shrim po-boy, while large, was just a pile of frozen pre-breaded shrimp. The hamburgers were good, but the french fries had so much salt on them. There's a tablespoon at the bottom of the tray of just salt and pepper very under the bowl unless you took the salt down to the bottom of the tray. Also, we paid cash for a meal, but the server would not give us our change, saying he didn't have any. Why can't a server make change. It was $.67 so his tip included that $.67. I am finding that more and more restaurants servers are doing this they're just rounding up to the next dollar and basically determining their own tip. We usually tip 22% of the bill, I'm finding that service are just cushioning or tips. If you use a credit card there, you are charged 3% to your bill for using a credit card. I visited here twice during a recent business stay. The first time was mainly because it was within walking distance to my hotel, but the 2nd time was purely because of how impressed I was the night before. The staff is super friendly and attentive, the pours are generous, and there's plenty of seating so you never feel crowded. I didn't try any of the food, but I noticed some of the plates being delivered and they looked tasty. However, I did have the ghost pepper pickled eggs...and holy crap, they were FIRE! Really unique and tasty! All in all, I would recommend a visit here. If I lived in Lynchburg, I could see this being my regular go-to bar. Keep it up, Hill City! read more

Then my best friend's joke of a Buffalo shrimp PO boy was also burned to which the cook said it wasn't burned. Instead of remaking her sandwich they sent out more shrimp NOT TOSSED in Buffalo. Pretty decent little stop for food and drinks with friends! We came in after a hockey game with a party of eight. It was a bumpin Saturday evening. We all ordered some drinks, of a variety. They have a decent drink menu with some stuff I've never heard of, and we love trying new things! For food, most of us got a Philly, some got burgers. Besides it taking a hot minute to get the food (no blame, it was busy), the food was good, and hit the mark! Much needed for our guys who were starving after playing a good game. I've been a regular since summer of 2021 and it's hands down the best place in Lynchburg. They have the best employees who are always so kind (Arden, Kendrick, Skylar, and Ceairra should be in charge of this country they are THAT AMAZING) The service is always speedy. Food is great- drinks are even better. No other pub/bar in the Lynchburg area feels as welcoming as HCP. I would recommend going here for a business meeting, a dinner date, or after 7pm I'd go just to get trashed. 10/10 absolutely love this place read more

My wife and I decided to give the pub a try today and left asking each other why haven't we tried this place until now? Everything was excellent from the app to entrees and service. I had the clam strips dinner with slaw and waffle fries and loved it we will definitely be back! One special request..with such a wide variety of appetizer choices a sampler with 3 different items would be awesome so we could have tried more of the offerings :) all in all we loved the food and service experience and thats rare in the current times 5 stars read more

Tables are close together and waiters were in the habit of not wearing masks behind the bar and they were all seen pulling down their masks to talk to customers. Not sure how to review this place. Went there during happy hour and asked about their draft beers since they were $1 off. Server said what do you like. I responded with IPA's Porters or Stouts are my go to. Literally no stouts or porters on draft with at least 16 taps.... One ipa that I tried was good and they ran out so I tried the other one which was awful. So that was disappointing but they did have seltzer on tap so cheers to them (sarcasm). Their food seemed kinda pricy, I ordered the chips and "salsa" I did t read properly so my fault but the salsa was literally corn and a few other things but very bland. Chips were really good but needed a better salsa. Got a chicken basket and fries for $8 only 2 strips. One more and it would have been worth it. The fries were waffle and seasoned very good. It was trivia night, so we had fun but the burgers being 10-14$ turned me off and not having any beer on tap that I liked did too. read more
