Unfortunately, I would give less than 1 star if possible. On a trip from Charlottesville, we thought we would give Brauburgers a try based on the Yelp reviews. We had a brief wait while they cleared a table for us, but when we got to the table it was still dirty having only been half wiped down; however, due to the length of time it took for our waitress to get to us I was able to wipe the table down myself, rearrange the silverware, go to the restroom, and feed my 1-year-old the banana I thankfully had in our go-bag! And....this was Thursday at 6:00 p.m. When the waitress did get to us, she seemed very rushed and even though we knew exactly what we wanted to order, only took our drink and appetizer order before walking off. We are patient, so no problem. Would much rather have the appetizer and beer, and then our burger. Again giving this place a fair opportunity to turn this around...and we waited and waited and waited to finally be informed that she was waiting on pint glasses as they were "all dirty," and no word about the appetizer order. By this time, my husband and I had discussed the daily news, our next road trip, and planned our retirement which was obviously going to be in Brauburgers by the time we got either beer, appetizer, or burger! Again, thank goodness for the bagel I had in the go bag for our 1 year old. We really wanted to give this place a try, but here we sit in the parking lot of Taco Bell (which actually I would give actually solid 4.5 stars) as I write this review due to walking out of Brauburgers. I'm almost certain our waitress hasn't even noticed our absence as not one single employee said a word at our departure. We tried to find her or a manager to address the issue, but they were nowhere to be found, so we left as they were obviously unable or unwilling to provide service. Visited yesterday. Experience was just ok, could have been better. Arrived and was seated promptly. Asked server twice for list of draught beer. Once ordered beers arrived quickly but our food didn't. Two orders came out complete, 20 minutes ahead of third order. Once it arrived third order was minus side item. Presentation of my burger was poor. It did have all requested toppings, but seemed to hastily prepared with a total lack of pride. I noticed our server bring a nearby table packaged plastic utensils when they requested silverware. Server told that table "there's none avalible right now". Server never asked us if we needed another beer, I had to flag her down. Restaurant seemed to be over working a limited number of servers while other wait staff gathered behind the bar bunched up in conversation. Upon bringing our check I asked the server if there was an issue in the kitchen (because it was showing). She exclaimed that they were indeed backed up in the kitchen, short a dishwasher, and busier than normal due to a local college graduation. Server never offered to bring a manager over to discuss the issues I had identified. She simply stated : we're getting by". I don't doubt the kitchen issues but the restaurant was in no way at full capacity. I kindly paid our tab minus any type of gratuity (the experience/service didn't warrant it. Why reward mediocrity?) I did detail my issues on the comments portion of the merchants copy of the check and wrote my phone number in two different places on it. Now 24 hours later I never received a call. read more

My boyfriend and I enjoys eating burgers and like to try new burger places. So one day we looked for top burger places and this place came up on the Top 8 burger places in Virginia. We were very interested at first but we do live in Herndon, Virginia, so we held it off for awhile because it would have been a drive for us. But one day we needed to go to Lynchburg and remembered that this place wasn't too far from there so we were very determined to come by. Boy we were not disappointed. The burgers were just amazing, the fries as well. The burger was not greasy, perfectly cooked. I love my fries crispy and theirs were perfect!!! We ended up taking our left over fries home and as you know most time left over fries gets soggy. But nope, not theirs. We reheated them and they were just as crispy as before. When we got back home that night we literally craved about this place for an hour to his mother. We tried a couple other places on the top 8 list, but so far found this place to be the best. We are hoping to come by again. read more

I really want to give this place a 5 because the food is amazing. But the service is always bad. I have gone about five times and they always forget one thing on the order. I don't blame the waiters or the cooks, I blame the owner who doesn't manage well or hire enough cooks. This normally happens when there is a good product with a cocky owner/manager, counting pennies must be more important than helping out his/her employees. The waitresses always look exhausted, even though they do their best. I wouldn't change anything about the menu it is great. read more

first time visit today. great service, bartender was the nicest guy!! really made our visit better. we had the fried pickles "frickles" which were great. beer battered pickle chips with a nice dipping sauce. burgers were reasonably priced and have lots of options for toppings. BUT the meat was definitely a disappointment. under-seasoned and definitely FROZEN patty and it was really OVERCOOKED. the nicely toasted brioche bun saved the burger from complete failure, but definitely not a great burger. fries were frozen and pre-seasoned and not good. they seriously need to consider doing fresh cut fries to order, would be so much better. bartender was the best. brought us a free cheesecake for dessert just because. really cool. our kids loved it. thanks! I think with a couple minor tweaks this place could be great. 1. grassfed beef and fresh beef, not frozen. 2. handcut fries prepared to order. their tagline is craft burgers and beer. so if you are claiming craft burgers than they should not be frozen product. read more

Went for dinner last night, really bad service. We waited 1hour for food and gave up. The disturbing thing was when we went in the Patio was empty. While we waited for food they delivered at least 10 meals out there. Our server bartender was bad. We asked where our food was and she said she would check, then proceeded to take care of new people. We gave them a second try, but never again. Shame on them! read more

Been here five times, two we were waited on, three we were not...at all, so we left. Food good, good beer selection and they have live music on weekends. Please work on your customer service guys.....I mean really....there's no excuse. Last night you could've made a lot of money on our party of 10 but instead we went across the street to Benjamin's and got EXCELLENT service (dylan was our server at Benjamin's by the way, he is amazing!) due to not being waited on. We had to get our own drinks at the bar (we sat at booth across from bar by register were at least four works saw us not being waited on and didn't bother to help.....)....your bartender was pretty good but due to this not being the first time experiencing your horrendous service, we will not be back. read more

Great burgers just don't order them to go. They wrap them up in foil paper and throw them in a bag. They are cold by the time you get home. They put the sides in a to go box when the burger needs to go in the to go box. Order a combo and everything is packaged separately. Come on man you all make enough money to afford to go boxes. Service is really slow. Place was packed during lunch on on 7/11. Waited 12 minutes to place order then another 27 minutes to receive food. Also could not find a clean table as there was only one waitress working the floor and bar. I had to move the previous customers plates and eat on a dirty table as they never wiped it down. They are going to have to do better as most customers were there on lunch breaks and cannot spare the full hour I needed to eat my meal. You would think being a burger place they would have patties going on the grill at all times getting ahead some. Didn't make sense to wait that long. Food was great, but service must improve! This place is the most popular restaurant in Forest right now. Friday and Saturday nights will be packed and have about a 20-30 minute wait. The atmosphere is great, but can be a bit loud. Wait staff is friendly. Fantastic bar if you can get a seat. Good cocktail selection and the beer options are diverse and plentiful. You'll find what you are looking for if you want something to drink. Obviously a burger joint with tons of burger options. You won't be disappointed with your burger selection. I would highly recommend the spicy Mac and cheese. read more

This is a place that needs to step up their customer service game. I went about two weeks ago and the customer service was fine at best. I decided to give Brauburger another chance since they have decent reviews on google. When I walked in there were three very young servers, who took a moment to acknowledge me. Once they acknowledged me, they asked if I had a take out order and I asked for a table. I was told that there was a ten minute wait due to the servers needing a break. This showed such a low level of customer service. The girls were eating behind the counter and just leaning on the counter hanging out when there were customers that weren't addressed and tables that were dirty. I was finally seated and a waitress came over and got me a water, so I was hoping that the level of customer service would improve since I was now seated. Sadly, I was terribly wrong. I sat at the table for over 20 minutes with, again, no acknowledgment. Two waitresses walked by several times and I tried to get their attention, so I could let them know that I hadn't been helped and wanted to order. After 30 minutes of no help, I left. This is one of the worst customer service experiences that I have had in a long time. I'm sad to see a local business have such a low standard of service. read more

I've developed a love/hate relationship with Bräuburgers. The food has generally been wonderful but the service is downright awful. Not to mention the things on the tables are filthy. Simple but unique. I had my first experience at Brauburgers last night and it was a good one. The staff was freindly and the restaurant was clean and inviting. Check out what's mounted on the walls on the way in. I bet you'll ask them where they came from! To give you a better picture of what to expect, imgine: 5 Guys, plus some ambiance, minus the peanut allergy warnings, minus the shouting from the visible kitchen staff, plus a FULL BAR with a pretty decent selction of local brews. Expect to pay about the same as you would for a burger at a Ruby Tuesday's, but here, you get to create your own. I'll definitely be back! read more

Today was my first experience at Bräuburgers, and I will say this, it is one. Of the better burger places in Lynchburg. With a great ambience and great music to go with it, going there is an experience by itself. However, the cost of the burgers is a little too high. For a $10 combo. You get a burger, fries and coleslaw, but no drink. Considering that it cost them next to nothing for sodas, it feels like a ripoff. The burgers were great, with a fresh slightly crisp bun. Meat was juicy and very tasty, and very natural favors. The only downside was the shredded lettuce. It took away from the "classy" appearance and reminded me more of a McDonalds burger. The sauce however, was unique and good, which in my opinion reminded me of In N Out or Shakeshack. The fries were frozen, and nothing special to talk about. Think Arby's fries, but straight and less salty, which was welcome to me. Onion rings were great, and sauce served with it went very well with the fries. (No sauce if you don't order onion rings). All in all, I don't think it was any better than the west coast favorite or Shake Shack. But for Lynchburg, it's hard to get any better than that. read more

Never order any food from here. I have lived in Forest for over 3 years and have never received a correct order when I have ordered take out. I have a simple order... chicken sandwich with only provolone cheese and lettuce on the side. Fries. Every time I have placed a to-go order the order has been epically incorrect. Each time I tell myself to never order food from here again. Then, 6 months go by and I think to myself, "maybe they've gotten their act together." Amazingly, they still cannot get the order right. I ordered today, was told to be there in 10 minutes. I showed up in 15, and was told that my order had not even been even rung in by the hostess. So now I'm writing this review while I sautee a chicken sandwhich on my stove. The fries at Brauburger are pretty great though. :/ read more

Great restaurant amazing burgers friendly staff and great drinks. Anytime I visit this establishment I'm always greeted with a smile and a friendly hostess. The food is fresh and very delicious. You can eat inside or outside both are optional. The facility however at times can be a bit crowded I guess because they're so popular. I liked this place until today. I took my family, a party of 5, during lunch around 2pm. The place had plenty of tables but the hostess stated that tables were being seated at 5 minute intervals because the kitchen was backed up. I asked that we be seated and wait at a table. The hostess said we could sit in the waiting ares which was full but she couldn't seat us at a table because of the management rules. DUMB!!!! I have come to expect this kind of thing around Lynchburg. I have to say the food in the past is ok but this is an expensive burger joint at best. They have lost a customer. read more

Normally expect the service to be really slow. But last night we waited to be seated and watched larger parties than us who arrived after us get seated before us. Once we were finally brought to our table we found the table had not been cleaned off and a dirty dish rag had been left on the table. We moved it to the corner so the wait staff would see it when they came over. The host came over to say our waiter was busy so she would be getting the drinks. She didn't take the rag with her and then returned with the drinks and still never took the dirty dish rag. Our experience was so bad that we waited to be seated and then left to go to a different restaurant. Need a training session for all your wait staff and hosts. read more

Thought we'd give their new second location just opened on Rivermont Avenue next to Randolph College Sunday night. As we walked in the first thing we saw was a sign that warned this location was a work in progress and not to expect much. Then we noticed it was stifling hot, and the place was packed with people. The greeter showed us to an adjacent room she said had air...it, too, was packed and stifling. She sat us outside and the flies were on all the tables and it was hot! Hard to believe they opened with no air conditioning on a hot and humid August weekend. The menu looked great, but we will give it a try when we hear they finally have air. read more

We got here before it really got busy, there are four of us and a near 3 year old. The hostess (who looks like she hates her job) seated us and our waitress was pretty good overall. Service was average overall, nothing impressive or to write home about. We ordered 12 boneless wings in flavored of bourbon molasses BBQ and teriyaki. We also got the southwest burger with normal fries. Food was pretty good and very enjoyable. Atmosphere is kind of cool but somewhat raw up front due to the traffic from the door and bathroom. Anytime I see a place with a veggie burger I get so excited to try it. We were recommended this place by some friends and went to check it out. My husbands food was amazing and very spicy which is how he likes it. My pretzels and cheese were also amazing. The veggie burger is where things went bad. It was so mushy that even though it had good flavor I couldn't fully enjoy it. It had the texture of mashed potatoes which was not what you want in a burger. I will be going back but only for the sides. I do not recommend the veggie burger at all. read more

My wife, myself, and our two year old visited here last night for the first time. The exterior is a clean brick and mortar. Once inside it took a second to navigate to the Order Here sign in the back. The interior is clean and welcoming. After placing our order we seated ourselves outside under the awning. Our server arrived quickly with my beer. I was very happy with the beer selection: 3 from apocalypse, among several other local brews. I don't know what Doochie D is complaining about, but that name says a lot. We were happy with our burgers and brat. Try the jalapeno sauce! It's great to see a higher end burger/brat/beer place. I eat here with friend and burger was OKAY. Taste good like Hardee's, but has the pineapple and dark Asian sauce not like Hardee's. This was the first time we have been to the new location. As with the old one service was lacking. We were seated on the patio and waited 20 minutes with no acknowledgement. We left. This happened twice with us at the old location. Be a while if ever that we go back. Funny thing was the girl that seated us thanked us and told us to have a good night on the way out.
