I used to frequent Bräuburgers often. I was there when they started in the small venue beside Kroger, and followed when they moved to the larger area, where they are now located. I was pretty bummed when DJ left, as he knew more about beer selection than likely any other bartender in town. The service also suffered with the growth in size. I visited tonight, with just myself and my wife. The naked rotisserie wings are some of the best in town, however, the highlight of the night was actually our server Corey. She went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our food and drinks. She was led astray with bad information by the bartender, but always followed up, even when they were busy. I've had my ups and downs at this location, but I'll return because of people like her. read more

My Chedder cheese was burnt and rock hard and it broke off in my fingers. My wife's burger was cooked so hard it was burnt black and smooth on one side! We just moved here but when we came to look at homes and interview for jobs the Owners of where I work treated me to lunch here and I loved it. The burgers are fantastic. Our waitress was awesome. I was a little turned off when one of the bus persons stepped on my heal when we were being seated, with no apology or acknowledgement. The beers were good, but small and pricey. In some towns I might rate this place higher, but the completion is stiff in Lynchburg, VA. Overall this is a good place to spend the evening eating with friends. They have a good menu and food is well prepared. To begin, the hostess gals are less than excited to help you and offer very little in the way of directives, greetings, or concern that you have a preference in seating. Our waitress was lovely, so I was more than happy to forgive and forget the colossal hullabaloo at the entrance. I was excited to see the menu, but was disappointed to see that there were several burgers listed that were almost the exact same, minus the free toppings that you could add. The Veggie Burger was less than desirable, the "ghost pepper jack" cheese (which, given the name should have been spicy) tasted like bland cheddar, the german potato salad was swimming in watery sauce, the coleslaw had ZERO flavor, and the beer was almost room temp! To say the least, I was annoyed. To say it best, I will not be visiting that establishment again. I've been going here since it opened. There was a time when the food and service were very good, but that was a long time ago. I went tonight, after not going for a while. There was a 30 minute wait, which was fine, they were busy. Once we were seated, a waiter came and took our order for a beer, 2 waters, appetizer and 2 meals. About 40 minutes later, the appetizer shows up, no explanation for the delay. Another 10 minutes the one beer shows up. Still no waters. After about an hour and twenty minutes with no sign of our food, water, or waiter, I go to the front to ask for my check for the beer and appetizer, and to cancel the rest. The girl apologizes and 5 minutes later comes with my check, but informs me the food has just arrived at the table if I want it. I ask if I can also get the waters and a beer to drink with my food. "Absolutely, I'll have it right out." I go back and sit down. Fries are cold. Hamburger is good. Cole slaws are missing. There is one water on the table. Still no sign of the other water or beer. No sign of the waiter. We share the one water as we eat our food. Finished. Still no waiter, no other water or beer or cole slaw. Finally have to ask the girl from the front for our check. After I pay, our waiter passes buy, looks back and says "is everything Ok sir". I go through the whole story with him. He explains he has nine other tables. I'm not in the restaurant business, but it is apparent that they are severely understaffed and the owners and/or managers lack the leadership and integrity to manage the situation. Maybe they can't find people to hire, but there are other ways they could handle it. They could just seat the number of customers that they can serve well, rather than seat everyone that walks in the door and server them extremely poorly. They could notify everyone that comes in that they are understaffed, and they might not see a waiter for over an hour, the order might be wrong, etc. and let the customers decide for themselves if they still want to eat there. There are lots of ways they could have done better, but the bottom line is the lack of integrity and leadership from the top. Hopefully it changes and again becomes as good as it used to be. read more

I have no clue where some of these reviewers had their burgers at but it certainly wasn't at this place.I've been here twice; when they first opened and today. If you're going to open a restaurant an name it "Bräuburgers" (German for Beer Burgers) and price it as such then it had best be the best burger in town and not frozen made-to-order food with more than just 11 beers on tap. Top shelf beers like Spaten Optimator, Oberdorfer Weissbier, Schneider and Ayinger to name a few are what you should serve. They have plenty of seating with a nice patio area during nicer days. I just wish this spot wasn't so far away (relatively) because I would come here more often. Ate there at lunch today with a friend. We both wanted to check it out, and had heard they had a lunch special. I learned that it was the "HEIDELBURGER" which they discounted a whopping .85 cents to $3.95. The "HEIDELBURGER" is 3oz of seasonless beef, a small leaf of lettuce, a thin slice of tomato, their brausauce. If you want anything else, it's more money. 20 cents for a slice of onion. 70 cents for cheese. I think it's sad they would charge 20 cents for a slice of onion. I can understand cheese, but an onion? Come on, that just seems cheap. I wasn't overly impressed with my burger. The other burgers on the list seemed more impressive though, but also quite pricey for a burger without fries. All of which you had to add 70 cents for cheese. If I got a bigger burger with cheese, added fries and a drink, it would be over $12 before tip. That would be too much for a burger that matched the quality of burger I received today if only slightly larger. Our bartender was really nice. He was quick with a refill, and seemed cool with our smaller order. That was a plus. My buddy ordered the 6 peice boneless wings, and only received five. He was to shy to say anything. On vacation in Virginia, and was recommended this place from the friends we're staying with. It was definitely super tasty! I liked the whole visual appearance of the restaurant; it was very cool and it wasn't crazy loud when we went so it was a chill place to eat. Food came out pretty fast. I got the bbq - pulled pork sandwich with their tangy Carolina gold sauce (Definitely won me over with the sauce) and simple fries which were also very good. My boyfriend picked chicken wings with Carolina gold sauce. They were super crispy which we both loved. Only thing was they didn't seem to be tossed in the sauce versus the sauce just poured over, so some of the wings were drenched in the sauce where others were lacking. He also got sweet potato fries which were nice and crispy too, though we both agreed with liked their regular fries a more.
