While visiting friends in Forest, we stopped in to Brauburgers for dinner on the patio. It wasn't our first time here but it was our first time trying burgers and they were great! I tried the Sonneburger and I loved the jam, onions, and goat cheese combination. I got a side of potato salad with my burger and it was some of the best potato salad I've ever had! My significant other got a Brandenburger with a side of guacamole and enjoyed it as well. He ordered French fries on the side and they were really good and the portion size was just right. We ordered chicken tenders and jalapeño bottle caps for appetizers and both were delicious. This is definitely one of our go-to spots on our list while we are in town! read more

In the past two weeks, I've eaten at Brauburger four times, and as Lynchburg has some top notch burger joints, that's saying that Brauburger is the place to BE. Simply put, this place knows how it's done! You want your burger the way you like it? No problem, order the brauburger and add on one of several free toppings, as well as a great selection of reasonably priced add ons. You want a craft burger?? Order the Bismarck, an extremely juicy burger LOADED with spicy Mac and a few other assorted items. You need fries with that? Order the rosemary and parm frites. Don't forget too about the INCREDIBLE rotisserie wings, and the all-time favorite cowboy bites (you gotta get there and try em!). We came in for lunch and waited at the door no one came so we finally seated ourselves. The servers saw us but never came over. There was only like 3 other tables of ppl in whole restaurant. We sat there for about 15 min . They walked by our table twice and didn't say hello or anything. We finally got up and left bc we figured they did not need anymore business. I've been here a few years back and enjoyed my meal. I came here for the second time a few days ago. I ordered a turkey burger and potato wedges. The wedges were good and appropriately seasoned. They weren't too salty or lacked flavor. The turkey burger, however, was dry and lacked flavor as if they did not season the turkey. I was expecting a big, juicy burger. The burger was kind of small. I probably could have gotten a bigger burger from Five Guys for the same amount (only disappointment is they don't sell turkey burgers, unfortunately). They also didn't grill the onions and peppers like I requested. I do not mind giving them another chance. I'll probably try the chicken fillet next time. I want to start by saying that this is my favorite Burger place in Lynchburg. I have lived in Lynchburg for almost 6 years, and Bräuburgers has 100% become a huge staple of the city. This German themed restaurant has an amazing vibe, and offers a large selection of beer on tap. The last few times I have gone I always get their signature Brauburger with sweet potato fries, and it's absolutely delicious! This was the first time me and my boyfriend tried this place... the food was awesome, no complaints there. The only negative part is that we waited forever to get our condiments, drinks, and check. This was during lunchtime and there were no more than 4 other tables eating. Staff was all younger people and I feel like they just dropped off our food and disappeared to the back. I waited over 15 min just to receive the check and our drinks were empty halfway throughout the meal. Definitely come here for the food, but expect to wait for everything from drinks to the check. read more

I decided to check out Brauburgers because of all the positive reviews on Yelp, and they did not disappoint. Being a huge burger fan, a good burger joint is one of the first things I look for when I'm staying out of town. This place was conveniently located on 221, just around the corner where I was staying. They have a great new HUGE space, with lots of parking, tons of TV's, and a gigantic bar area. Service team seems to be the same, gathering from what I heard and was told, and that may be cause for concern. Both times I visited I received great service (ask for Richard at the bar - guy knows his stuff!) but I saw a lot of other tables that may not have been as satisfied as I was. The girls (because the entire wait team in the dining area seems to be female) really need to get their act together. They act like they don't really want to be there, and are just a little too casual and laid back for the size of the venue they're at now. If someone had a complaint of poor service there, I wouldn't be surprised. But again, I received fantastic service during my visits, so those issues are not reflected in my review. The burgers are on point. I got the Heidelburg both visits, and experimented with different add-on toppings, but the Tillamook cheddar is a must. It takes an already delicious burger patty to glorious heights. The Brauburger sauce is also fantastic. I could eat that stuff on everything. Both the pomme frites (fries) and waffle sweet potato fries are additive. Good beer seleection - I believe they said 42 on tap? That's insane. And the selection is a great variety of various craft brews from around the country, focusing on central VA. Being from Detroit where craft beer is king, it's impressive to see this kind of selection in an area not historically known for artisinal food and drink choices. Wow... I have had so many friends hype this place up and when I finally got to go with my fiancé we were severely disappointed. Firstly, they can't handle a Friday crowd at all, probably because the hostesses are all 16 years old and stressed out about homecoming (dressing like it too with spandex and tight shirts??? Super unprofessional.) We both got different burgers and like any other American, I love burgers and have had MANY. Thjs burger was so bad . Such a severe let down. My fiancé and I both had stomach problems later on... If you're like me and wanting to try it out, you'll get a better burger for half the price at any other mom and pop. We've eaten at the restaurant many times and have recommended it to visiting family. It's so good my parents visited twice in one week. However, tonight I was pretty disappointed in our takeout. The fry portion is the same price in house but significantly smaller portions, my husband asked if we had been given our pickles and was told yes but we only had a side of sliced, no spears. The buns were not the typical haus buns, I asked for fried jalapeno and got fresh. Thankfully for my kids the Mac and cheese was as delicious as ever. All in all I'd still eat at and recommend the restaurant but I'm not coming here for takeout anymore. read more

Consistently great food, piss poor service. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat when I'm in Lynchburg. The rotisserie wings are divine, the fries are crisp to perfection--it's all good. Except for one major thing, the service is absolutely terrible. We went to Bräuburgers on Sunday, two days ago, and we were surprised it was nearly empty. We felt lucky! We asked to sit outside. The hostess then proceeded to give us tattered and stained paper menus, and tried to seat us at a visibly dirty table. I asked her if she could clean it and she came back, sprayed the table (and me, but she didn't notice and I didn't say anything) yet still only cleaned about half the table. It was still visibly dirty, with old straw wrappers on the table that she ignored. I had to finish her job, as our waitress Amee came to the table. This is when I noticed that the Bräuburgers staff aren't the brightest bulbs. Amee watched me clean the table, yet didn't say anything or even motion to help me. As we're looking at our wrinkly menus, she just silently stood and waiting for us to order, so I ask her if Bräuburgers offers beer flights, to which she says yes. Great! But I find it strange that I had to inquire about this, though. It's not on the menu; she saw me debating on 3 different beers, I was confused that she didn't just suggest that herself. What if I hadn't known that flights existed? I also asked for a "seltzer" and got a blank stare, I had to them say "soda water" for her to get it. Same thing with fries: "do you have truffle fries?" "Umm we have sweet potato waffle fries." (That's not nearly even close, but I thought "oh bless her heart.") Anyway, she brings us our food, and forgets a multitude of things, but we're cool with it. Later we are reminded by a friend via text that it's Lynchburg Restaurant Week, and it has just begun. As we're finishing our meal, we ask if Bräuburgers is participating. To which Amee says yes. At this point, our "no worries" attitude about the terrible service we received all night started to change. We told Amee it would've been nice to know this, before we ordered. To which she responds "Sorry! Do you want me to grab the restaurant week menu now?" after we've already finished eating! It seems like Bräuburgers exclusively employs blondes who are better at their makeup skills than they are at food service. Maybe I'll just order to go next time. read more

TRIED to eat at Bräuburgers in Rivermont to celebrate today. Waitress sat us and proceeds to close out another table. She's clearly busy, so it's cool.. we wait. She gives the check, brings them boxes, then gives them change, and clears their table. We're still waiting...looking around..no drinks.. Maybe 10 mins later the waitress who sat us comes over and asks if we are being helped. No? Oh I'm so sorry. A few mins later she comes back with drinks. We ask a couple questions, and order wings but tell her we are still figuring it out. 15 mins later, and another table comes in. The bartender, who is also apparently the Manager on Duty takes their orders. At this point my wife set a timer. 5 mins later, all we have is drinks and menus still in front of us, looking around like we are bird watching. We get up and the waitress comes over and decides to argue with us about the fact that we don't want the wings we ordered. I should note, she does NOT even have the wings out yet. As the name suggest, burgers are the house specialty. A friend and I met for a late lunch (1:30 PM) and was seated right away. The place was mildly crowded so being seated right away is a plus. I ordered the the Berliner and a side of Pom frites (fries). The burger was very good and the fries were adequate. Server was attentive and food came in a timely manner. I normally really like Bräuburgers because of their accommodations to those with gluten allergies, but today I was incredibly disappointed. We walked in to be told that there was quite a long wait from the kitchen due to some larger parties. The hostess was very friendly and kept us updated. But, once we got seated and started to order, our waitress proceeded to tell us they were out of their gluten free buns and their chips that are gluten free. I also noticed there was a significant price raise on the GF options. After having waited so long, we made due and found something to order, but we honestly would have left if we weren't so starving. Like I said, I normally enjoy Bräuburgers. But for someone who is very limited with what they can eat, I don't know how often I will be returning if they cannot ensure they have their gluten free options available. read more

But after a few minutes of sitting around & not seeing a menu at the table, we looked over our shoulder to see the big "ORDER HERE" sign in the back! Bring your cash! While the service was great, the products were considerably over-priced and completely underwhelming! Our party of four ordered an app, four simple burgers, 1 plate of fries, 2 slices of pie, and water for a whopping $80+. The bun-less burger was a lonely, naked, round-ish lump of brown. It was the size of a sausage patty, served on a small platter, and sitting in grease with two pitiful strips of bacon across the top. The other burgers were just as haphazard. Both slices of pie were tiny and reminded us of pie you buy in the frozen section of your local grocery store. Okay, so I previously left a review that wasn't good and did not plan on revisiting this spot but a friend wanted to meet there so I gave in. I really can't complain! I was wowed this time around. The service was phenomenal! Our waitress Jontey (I probably butchered the spelling of her name so forgive me.) was very attentive and although she doesn't like "beer" but reaches for ciders instead, she was waaay more knowledgable than many beer loving waiters/waitresses. On top of that she was cool, down to earth and very hospitable! They upped their beer game tremendously since my last visit! Adding about another 10 or so taps with better local and global beer! I was more than satisfied with the selection and according to the owner Doug (who I will get back to) they will be adding even more! The food was good! I have no complaints on that and it was made promptly upon us ordering it! The owner Doug took a seat at my booth and we spoke about my previous visit and my current one and he was also down to earth, humble, willing to listen and excited about their growth! I have to give him his points! With the way they are progressing this will be the best craft burgers and beer bar in the Lynchburg area!! Plus they partner with reputable local breweries to brew their own beer! Unheard of locally! This place is on track to be a force to be reckoned with! When you get a chance go, go, go!!! read more

I want to state that this is an ongoing complaint and compliment in one post. This has nothing to do with Covid. First, I love this place. The food is wonderful, the names of the dishes are whimsical and the servers are very friendly and do a great job, especially right now. The amount of available beer on tap is amazing as well, as their menu provides, literally, something for everyone. Second, and here is the unfortunate part. I have never received a beer menu upon being seated. This is a brew-pub and I shouldn't have to ask for it three minutes after being seated, when the server asks what we want to drink, then wait another few minutes after every body else has their sodas or tea to be asked what beer I would like. You should not have to ask for a beer menu at a brew-pub. It should be provided with the regular menu as soon as you are seated. That is my only complaint, as I said, I love this place and everything else about it! Please keep being amazing! Just make it policy that the beer menu is provided upon seating. Thanks! read more

Place is filthy. Staff is surly. Can't be bothered to seat you when there are many empty tables, because their phones are just fascinating. My wife's vegetarian burger was frozen in the middle. Pickles on the side of both our burgers were cut many days ago with black spots on the inside. Tomato on inside of my sandwich was days old. I could almost see through it. It had obviously been in and out of their refrugerator numerous times until I got lucky enough to receive it. Dust and cobwebs everywhere overhead. Dust from the painting on the wall beside me was shedding extra FREE toppings on our food. Charged us $4 each for french fries to go with our nearly inedible $10 burgers. We love this place! We usually get burgers and they are always outstanding! We LOVE the pretzel appetizer. On this recent visit we wanted to try some different stuff. We tried the rotisserie wings (which they described as extra crispy), Bacon Cheese Fries, Pretzels and a Philly Cheesesteak pizza. The wings were not crispy at all and the pizza just had very little flavor! The cheese fries were great and the pretzels and beer cheese are the best!!!! Overall, this place was pretty groovy. The unsweetened tea was pretty bland no matter how much Splenda packets I fruitlessly added to it, but it was relentlessly replenish by our waitress so I can't complain ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I order the Rueben and my mom ordered the Gobbler. Folks we thought these sandwiches were ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS. Honestly so delicious, and they came with this rolling list of sides that you could add to your main dish. However, be careful because there is a flat rate for the sandwich, but the prices of the sides vary. My mom got the German potato salad, which was relatively cheap and so tasty, if you don't have a vinegar allergy, you've got to try it. I had loaded Mac and cheese, which was equally tasty with heavenly bacon bits, red onions and jalapeños. But like I said, it wasn't the same price as the potato salad, a tad more expensive. Also the first time the Mac came out, it was cold, like it had been cooked and then left sitting out until my Rueben was ready. Normally I would have brushed it off, but I just couldn't let it go because each bit brought me sorrow and disappointment, so I had to get another much warmer bowl. I probably pissed off the dudes in the back, because my second bowl of noodles was hotter than the fifth layer of hell, as if the cooks were thinking "this will show that girl for catching us in our own mistake and wanting to actually enjoy her food". If you stuck around this long, thanks, and go to this restaurant; it's got phenomenal food, just be wary that on Saturday nights you might hear the occasionally drunken cheers from a twenty-something white man who is way too invested in the common NASCAR race. The waitress dropped it off so quickly we couldn't even get her attention. She didn't come back until our food was ready. Met with a party of seven others tonight at this restaurant. I ordered the Zeppelin burger with cheese, lettuce, and tomato with a side order of onion rings and a pint of beer. The onion rings were fabulous. The beer was also wonderful. But the burger which was one of their signature burgers was not very memorable. The burger was really nothing more than 2 small patties on a bun without much flavoring. I realized afterwards that they forgot the cheese as well. However I will say the price was reasonable. We sat at what they called "the porch". It had large overhead doors that were opened but even with the whole wall being open it was very loud in that area. I would give it another try but this visit did not do much to impress me. The restaurant was very full, so obviously they're doing something right. This place is always busy so we went around 2pm on a Saturday, and it was still pretty busy. We got the fried pickles for appetizer, they were really good, except for the ones at the very bottom, they were soaked in grease. They should put some kind of paper at the bottom to absorb the grease so the ones on to bottom are still edible. We got two burgers and fries. I do prefer my burger to be a little more done, but still good. LOVED the crispy fries!! The food came out really quick, but getting drink refills was a little slow. Oh, and their cherry coke is really good, they mix the grenadine syrup in, so it has extra cherry taste! I like that they have the cardboard animals on the walls instead of real dead animal heads. I stopped in for late night food and refreshments with a group of friends. We sat on the patio, a great covered area where you can still hear the band playing inside. They had a great variety of burgers, even a vegetarian option. I had the frites aka fries. They were crispy and seasoned on the outside and soft on the inside. The craft beer selection was awesome as well. Several fruity beers were available for the summer. The service was a bit slow outside, but the server was very knowledgeable about all the beers we had questions about. She even brought us similar beers to taste with our flight.
