Had my brakes replaced here put I guess the mechanic never checked the rotors for thickness when I finally went on the freeway, I noticed the front end of the vehicle shimming when I brake at 55 miles an hour had to take the vehicle to another repair shop who had to replace the rotors and the brakes. i was there for over 3 hours for a brake inspection they kept telling me it was almost done when it really wasn't i asked them to please give me my car back so i could take it somewhere else and the technicians, Dan and Jake were amazing, but the manager that was on duty was a complete asshole. Yes I did throw F bombs at him because it is my car that he was working on. It's not his car if I don't want my car to be looked at by them anymore he needs to give me back my car. Booked an appointment in advance for 9am for a brake pad replacement and wheel alignment. I waited until 1:30pm, as I had gotten no communication from them at this point, so I personally called to check on the status on my vehicle. I was told that they were just barely starting the inspection. At 2:35pm I received a follow up call to tell me what services I needed and I would need to immediately go to another location to replace tires. They had mentioned on the call that it would be about an hour+ for the parts and repairs to be completed. At 4:30pm I still had not received a call telling me my vehicle was done and ready for pickup. The shop closed at 5pm. I took it upon my self to go to the shop and wait for them to be finished. The man did not apologize about the near 8 hour wait for a simple brakes replacement. Do not recommend if you want poor service and want to waste an entire day waiting for a small repair. I brought my daughter's car in for an alignment as a walk in. The service was excellent, very helpful and willing to take the cat without an appointment. They checked the car and let me know it did need an alignment and at the end of the service I got a paper with proof that the alignment was completed. I could tell the difference as soon as I drove it home. I highly recommend this place. the service he excellent, fast and worth the price. *****DO NOT GO TO BRAKES PLUS!!!!!******* I went to Brakes plus 3/01/24 15635 s 48th st phoenix AZ 85048 for an oil change. A week later we had to go back because my car leaked all of the oil. The technician had to replace a faulty oil filter and they had to steam clean with dye. I went back to Brakes Plus on 5/3/24 and they advised me that timing cover gasket is leaking oil. Cost 2447.86! My car DID NOT leak oil prior going to Brakes Plus. I spoke with the Todd general manager, he was very rude and unprofessional. I will never take my car to Brakes Plus. I had my struts and shocks changed and the brakes cleaned, flushed and adjusted and they threw in the oil change package for free. My husband called several places a on Friday to check prices to get out a/c recharged and thus location was the cheapest. The guy told us $74.99 plus the cost of freon. So we dropped our car off yesterday, and when we came to pick it up he told me it was going to be $176, because they had to fix something else and then the labor to do that. I didn't receive any calls telling me that something was wrong or that it would cost $100 more. I'm really upset and I feel they they are deceiving. I couldnt afford that so not im $100 short for my daycare for this week. If I would have know it was going to be $176 then I wouldn't have gotten it done, im on a tight budget. Called and talked with John. Made an appointment for the next day. Dropped it off in the morning. John called and explained what was wrong. He took care of getting approval with warranty company. Worked with John and then Dean to get everything approved and repaired. They explained what needed done and answered my questions. Repair took an extra day. Great little shop! Went in for an oil change, an alignment & a brake check. They informed me I would not need brakes, which actually made me quite happy! Tired of places tricking people into getting a service they don't need, the gentleman at the front informed me that I was all good with brakes but still gave me a nice timeline of when I should get them checked again. Oil change was a bit pricey, but it's about the same anywhere you go. Now here's the great part! I have a synchrony card (credit card for auto stuffs) but unfortunately they could not find my name in the system. I had to pay with my debit card, an expense I was definitely not ready to make. When I returned on Monday, the manager Jason was very helpful in refunding my debit card & finding my credit card. Very VERY thankful to Jason! My car is running great! Thank you! read more

The first time I went in they overcharged me for the brakes service (June 2022) and my brakes started squeaking again after a couple days of driving. I went in again In February 2023 because I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt, but no it was the exact same thing again. This place is a ripoff! They replaced my front brake pads on 2/17 and they needed replaced AGAIN on 5/18 aI put very few miles on my car. Their parts are JUNK. I've spent over $300 on brakes within the last year here and only to be disappointed and taken advantage of and misquoted over the phone. I was told it would be $147 and when I got there he said it's $170, just like I quoted you on the phone. At this point I didn't even argue and just got in my car and left. Seriously, fuck this place. My husband and I have been coming here for years and I don't know what recently happened (John's starting his own shop soon or the guy with the Asian/Middle Eastern accent making appointments literally gives ZERO fucks about customer service) but this place took a serious dive recently. My husband and I were very faithful to our previous brakes plus and this place, but now this one has affected that trust. We were quoted replacements of 3 VERY LARGE and VERY EXPENSIVE items, only to have a second, AND THIRD OPINION tell us replacing the items was a money grab and that only minor things like valves and whatnot needed to be replaced. (The third place even did a dye test to prove it was all fixed). My husband would sit, while work was being done at this place, with our 6-month-old son, and these people bold face lied to him. This place used to be great, but only wants your cash. Stay away. read more

This location at 35th Ave & Union Hills is very untrustworthy. I took my 2017 Toyota Sienna there to get new brake pads & alignment. They told me that after their diagnostic checks that the master cylinder needed replacement immediately and that would be an extra $500 - $600. That didn't sound correct since I wasn't having any issues with my brakes going down to the floorboard while pressing them and it is a newer vehicle so I took my vehicle to another Brakes Plus location at 67th Ave & Bell Rd. I didn't tell them anything about the diagnosis at 35th Ave & Union Hills but wanted to see what their diagnostic check would reveal. Just as I suspected just new brake pads & alignment was the diagnosis. I then proceeded to tell them that their other location stated I needed a new master cylinder and the told me that was 100% false and the master cylinder was in great condition. They also proceeded to tell me that they had heard complaints about that location. My suggestion is to stay away from the Brakes Plus at 35th Ave & Union Hills unless you are interested in spending more money on faulty diagnoses!!! read more

This location was very friendly. They were very welcoming and considerate. The location was clean and had a nice station with tea, coffee, or water. They gave me a drive back to my house, while they worked on my car, then came and picked me up when it was done. What I liked most about the trip was after their initial inspection, they walked me out to my car and showed me what they were talking about and showed me how the parts should look, opposed to how they looked on my car. They also clearly informed me what the impact would be. The reason for 4 Stars was the pricing. The labor was higher than most places, even when they included a coupon for me. I was thoroughly pleased with the service I received today. Came in knowing I needed new brake pads due to milage and dust. Tech literally took me out to inspect the pads myself while they were still on my truck. To my surprise, he said only two of them needed to be replaced. He also said that my rotors needed to be machined as well, but not replaced. Said it would take an hour to complete , but it only took 30 minutes. Reasonably priced and honest. read more

Let me just start this review by saying I am incredibly pessimistic and jaded when it comes to auto repair shops. I can count on two fingers the number of times I've had a positive experience. Today, I can say confidently is number 3. Not only did they offer great customer service (John) and communicated prices on parts and labor honestly, but Brett took the time to walk me out to the car, while still up on the lift, and thoroughly explain to me what the issue was. He also explained how my brakes work in general, which gave me confidence in the work they do, and also a little piece of mind that I made the right decision coming here. In addition, my husband had his car looked at as well. Now keep in mind, two other "reputable " parties checked it out before this. They found a potentially deadly problem that was grossly missed by then others. Brett, John, and Tom brought both of us into the bay to show us just what was going on.
