Perfect! An early morning breakfast and the server is smiling and moving fast! We've been to Brails a few times and consistently the food very good. A simple breakfast of ham and eggs with hash browns, each item cooked perfectly. The best however is the vegetarian egg Benedict, made correctly in my opinion by adding bacon! All the ingredients were fresh, the poached eggs perfectly cooked and the hash browns nicely crispy. I do not think you will be disappointed. read more

Brails is awful! I decided to try it today since it is in my neighborhood and I like to support local businesses. To my dismay, Brails only serves cheap tasting food and the food isn't all that cheap! I am a pancake connaisseur and believe me their pancakes might have been rubber! Most all the products contained high fructose corn syrup and they didn't even offer real maple syrup! Coffee was horrible, go figure. I sent the food back after two bites, it was making me sick. Voted best hangover breakfast in Eugene, WHY???? I stand by my observation that people in this town have never experienced good food. I feel bad for them, ingesting food is a wonderful daily activity that shouldn't be wasted on what might as well be garbage. I really wanted to like this place, but wowzas.... After going there for the first time today, my mouth is ticked off, my body feels like it is screaming "how dare you!?", and my mind is left thoroughly confused as to why this place is rated so high on yelp and in the community. I ordered the waffle sample platter. This included one waffle, two eggs, and two strips of bacon; all of which left a lot to be desired. I'm not sure if the eggs were real.......Also, after hearing how "amazing" their hash-browns were I had to try them, so my girlfriend was gracious enough to let me have a sample. Welp, that just added to the mystery. I am perplexed why soggy/mushy hash browns disguised by a misleadingly golden outside are deemed amazing by anyone. I am usually a very forgiving diner when I go out if the service is good. This is another place Brail's didn't make the cut. In fact....I am not even sure who my server was....but to be fair, they were all equally as warm as wet blankets. I am not sure if I just happen to go on a day where the planets were aligned in such a way that everything that people say is great about this place happened to be terrible, or if you just have to be hung over and have your taste buds incinerated by tobacco and Jack Daniels from shenanigans the night before to enjoy it. P.s. Amazingly enough they managed to hit below par on the coffee as well, which here in the North-West is nothing short of sacrilege. read more

brail's is the best place to get grilled cheese, fries, onion rings, or hash browns... pretty much any greasy hangover food. but somehow, at brail's, it's not very greasy. just yummy. they also have great milkshakes and will go out of their way to make you happy by preparing something you want even if it's not on the menu. Just went to one of my favorite places for breakfast. The food was excellent but the service we received from Forrest was the WORST ever....completely ignored our table, never checked back to refill coffee & I basically had to yell at him to get his attention to refill my soda. Very deep...the restaurant itself goes on forever. Seriously, it's a big place and a plus for groups wanting to get together for breakfast. The food itself was uninspiring, but decent and satisfying. We keep telling ourselves that we won't go back. But it's hard not to when it's so close to home. In order to avoid the obnoxious crowd waiting to get in, then waiting again to pay, we began ordering our food for take-out. The past few times things have been not-quite-right. Today, though, two of our three orders were completely wrong. Additionally, the chicken skillet (the accurate dish) had only a few tiny pieces of diced chicken tossed into a bunch of potato pieces. I know they're one of the only breakfast places in town. Apparently, so do they. On the plus side, the place is clean and the servers are generally cheerful. I checked the reviews to see if there was any vegan options, and they said there were options. We were sat down (pretty quickly) and given a few moments to decide what we wanted. Everyone else in my party ordered and I asked our server what vegan options they had, she said they could make veggies tofu and hash browns, which was fine. She continued to ask if I ate teriyaki to which I responded "sure that's fine". She said they had a chicken teriyaki that was 100% vegan, and then continued to say that they had bulgogi that was really good and that I should try it, all in the same spiel of information. When the bulgogi came out, it looked very suspicious and not vegan whatsoever. I asked my boyfriend to try it, and the verdict, not vegan. A different server came and we told her that we were previously told us that the bulgogi was vegan (I made sure with everyone else in the table that what she said sounded like the bulgogi was vegan). They took away the bulgogi and got me the tofu and veggies which was fine. They brought out and eggs Benedict, which no one ordered and also forgot to bring someone's pancakes. Our server even ensured us that she owed us pancakes (that was ordered), but never showed. Our server was nice and I enjoyed the kimchi, but the food was nothing really special, the misinformation, and the subpar service was why I gave this place two stars. I wouldn't suggest this place, but if I have to go now I know to only get tofu and veggies with a hash brown. read more

Love Brails. Total winners. I always hit up Brails after the gym with my boys. I highly recommend the hangover special. It's eggs, hash browns, biscuits, covered in a light sausage gravy. Very affordable prices, quick service, and a wait staff that learns your name. It's a large restaurant, enough room for a pool in the back room if they ever decide to put one in. Been there twice and I'm surprised at how bad the service is. When we arrived there was no one there to seat us or put us in the waiting list. We had to wait like 10 mins until someone acknowledged us. Finally we are seated and but 5 mins later we are asked to move to another table. I mean who does that? We already got our water and just got comfortable then they ask us to change tables? We did not even choose the table. Not sure if it's racism but that was disrespectful. It has been years since I was last here. In the meantime, Brail's has absorbed the entire building it is in creating a series of connecting rooms. The waiter put us in the back for maximum privacy. Our breakfast meeting had about a dozen attendees each ordering a different breakfast. No mistakes, no late orders, everyone was satisfied. I had biscuits and gravy with two eggs prepared just as I ordered. Crisp hash browns were a bonus. Quick, good, excellent server. We completed our meeting and ate a very good breakfast in 70 minutes including separate checks! Highly recommended. read more

I brought two friends from out of town for breakfast here last weekend. They were impressed! I think the thing that sets Brail's apart from other Eugene breakfast hot spots is the service. They promptly took our order, the food was well prepared, out quickly to our table and multiple servers asked us if we wanted coffee or water refills throughout breakfast. My favorite Brail's breakfast is the meat burrito where they give you ham, bacon and sausage. They serve it with the best salsa, a side of sour cream and crispy hash browns. We were all very happy with our Sunday breakfast at Brails. The actual restaurant is tucked behind the small cafe on Willamette. It is much bigger than we could tell from the street and is organized with approx 4 smaller sections within the restaurant which kept the noise from other patrons to a minimum and made the atmosphere lovely. The coffee is a love or hate and personally I loved it. If you love Kenyan coffee the you will love their choice in coffee they serve. Food was great they don't reinvent the wheel they just do the wheel really well. Lastly, out server was fantastic - she was professional and personable. She never bugged us but was always in tune with our needs. A rare thing here in Eugene where service often leaves one wanting. read more

I was lucky enough to visit Brail's on my trip to Eugene last week. Not much on the outside, but when you see lines out the doors on weekends, and a packed house on weekdays, you know something is right! I was gladly not disappointed. Lived in this town a long time and have seen ads for this place forever but never got around to trying it. Yelp reviews and a long line at the Glenwood meant today was the day to give it a shot. Not bad. Nice to find breakfast in the late afternoon and the place is surprisingly big so we were seated right away. Service was friendly and fast and the waitress does a neat trick of balancing plates with her neck to carry it all. The hashbrowns were really good and lived up to the hype. My french toast was pretty good too, not amazing but pretty good. The rest was just ok, my husband had a decent veggie burrito, I think he called it "fine", my eggs and bacon were both overcooked and a little cold. Still, although I wouldn't ever get excited about going here, its a solid choice for breakfast if you don't expect too much. read more

This is by far my favorite coffee shop in Eugene! They serve roasts from around Oregon including Noble and Case from Ashland (my favorites there). The guys really know what they are doing--every drink I've gotten so far was amazing and their steamed milk never fails to hit the sweet spot.
