Let me just say I've been to this person before and this time around was the worst experience I've ever encountered with someone who is supposed business owner. I verbally explained to her my child wanted two layers of this style of cornrow..she asked for a picture to be sent..I sent a picture of the style she previously did on her, she texted back saying it was one row in the picture..I explained that her hair is thick she wanted two rows she quoted an amount of $125....even prior to my child sitting in her chair she asked her if she wanted two rows. Her original appointment was Friday, a hour and a half prior to her appointment, this Braider sends me a text that she's sick. After I expressed my concern for her not feeling well, I asked if she had anything available this weekend because we drove here from out of town to get her hair done. She never responded so I called the beauty salon where I originally located her (Mimis braid boutique) and asked if there was anyone who could braid my daughters hair, because her original Braider just canceled. The owner asked for a picture so I again sent the picture, she responded and said there wasn't anyone who could do it. So I asked if it could be done any time this weekend no response. Later Friday night I get a text from this Braider who originally canceled, asking if I can bring my daughter in the morning(Saturday)... I agreed since she has done my daughters hair a few times and I knew my child would be happy. My daughter comes home Sunday with these thick braids on her neck, and she says mom this isn't two rows....and it doesn't look like the last time she did my hair, my hair is already sticking out the braid. I reach out to her asking why would she charge me $125 for eight thick braids when I asked two rows and the last time she was in your chair, I got two rows from you for $95. She says I quoted you $125 for one row....I politely thanked her for her services and advise her we won't be returning. Then My phone rings it's this Braider No hello no let's talks about it She's says You sound mad I'm like excuse me You sound madddddddd And she went on to repeat it another three times At that point before I even attempted to explain my position, I just ended the call because I don't do the back and fourth. I think it's extremely unprofessional to call someone phone with that type of demeanor after you've taken there child's money and given poor service..it was a bold and unprofessional move that I'd expect from a child. Prior to me hanging up I can hear her saying you called me as if she isn't marketing herself on this app for clients. But as I told her Never again If you were sick you could have just stayed sick and not booked the appointment if you weren't going to do your best work, which would have been understandable. But this type of behavior out of a adult/business owner, I don't and would never entertain which is why I ended the call & any dealing with her. I'm a perfectionist and have OCD but Tonja did a great job. This isn't my first time getting braided and I hate when people don't care about the details. I didn't have to worry about that with her. She kept making sure my part was right down the middle and looked at it from different perspectives. My braids were equal in length as well. Nothing bad for me to say. She even asked if she was pulling my hair too tight, she wasn't but no one has ever asked before. I'll definitely be back. read more

I was getting ready to leave for my Jamaican vacay and needed a good braider for French braids that wasn't going to pull my brains through my scalp!!! #ouch I don't know what led me to yelp and how I found this braid wizard named Tonja (pronounced "Ton-Juh") but I am so happy I found her y'all!!!
