I was super excited to go to a salon for the first time. I have natural hair and was looking forward to finding a stylist who could do natural hair. I needed a trim and conditioning treatment. The stylist then offered to blow dry my hair. I only do that 2 times a year. She assured me that she could do it without heat damage so I agreed. I made my appointment and was told one price, but when it was time to pay, the price was different. The conditioning treatment was really nice on the scalp. My scalp felt clean and revitalized. My only problem was she was ripping my hair out. She was starting from the middle of my hair or the top instead of the bottom. It's super curly so she was fighting it instead of working with it. Then she put me in a contraption for a steam treatment. I was kind of iffy of putting any heat before the blow dry, but went along with it. After the steam treatment she rinsed me and then put me back in her chair to blow dry. Again with the ripping out of my hair. By the time she was done it was huge and puffy and tangled all over again. Then came the trim. EVERYONE in my family prides themselves on their mane. My hair was really long. In a high pony it was still past my shoulders flat ironed, but I had split ends. I knew this. I figured an inch, least likely two at most I would lose just based on what she was showing me. I lost about 4 inches. And it wasn't all even. Then the price went up. I went from one price to a 25$ difference in price even though there was nothing added on or not previously discussed. Two weeks later I washed and detangled my hair. I was so disappointed and defeated to find out I had heat damage, my hair was uneven, and I actually have tufts of my hair missing in spots like it's been yanked out. I had to just cut it all off. I literally did a second big chop. There was no way to fix it or ever wear it down again. If you have natural hair I honestly cannot suggest my stylist. It was my first and last time visiting this establishment. I think it's safe to say I'll stick to my sisters and cousins doing my hair for free with better results. read more

Really cool people, great place for cuts and stylin', and beauty supplies as well! Check 'em out!

Amazing amazing amaziiiiing! I've honestly found my hairstylist that I will definitely be sticking with. The shop is in a decent area also, you can't just walk int the shop you have to be buzzed in. Inside the shop itself it's beautiful! great hospitality from the two wonderful hairstylists inside, Ms.Chevon however was my stylist and I am SOLD! You get your hair washed with feel good products, my scalp felt bomb after she cleansed it. Then her work itself? It's beyond neat. I don't like too much baby hair and she did a wonderful job of making sure I was satisfied. I can not wait to come back soon. Also you have to book your appointment online and make a deposit, def worth it though because it just shows how professional everything is done here. read more

I have been going to Chevon since the end of January 2019- Now (June 2019). June being the last month I get my hair done by her and not by choice but because she dropped me as a client! Mind you I had been a good and faithful client during this time driving an hour to get my hair done by her every two weeks, showed up on time, and I tipped her. I would love to give the salon a good review based on the actual styling she did on my hair. She did a very nice job on my hair the times she styled it, but her policies and viewpoint of customer service leads me to give her one star because it is so crucial in my experience with her. Apparently Chevon has a weave rescheduling and cancellation policy that she enforces no matter the circumstances. Basically if you need to reschedule YOU CANT and she will keep your deposit and reject you as a client if you do reschedule or cancel. She has a long list of rules to read on the website that do state no cancellation or rescheduling weaves but it also says you can reschedule once within 48 hours on an appointment so it's confusing to know that doesn't include the weaves. however, let's be real. You would think there is some flexibility or exceptions based on an emergency or it being your first offense. I don't know any other businesses that won't allow a reschedule at all! 24-48 hours notice for rescheduling and canceling is the norm for most businesses! I gave her A FULL 6 DAYS NOTICE that I had a work conflict come up and would need to reschedule the appointment. Chevon was very impersonal and unwilling to accommodate me even when I asked multiple times if we could reschedule given the 6 day notice. I paid her full $50.00 deposit and even ordered hair from her. Now I will need to find a new stylist as well as take out the previous half up half down hairstyle she put in which is COMPLICATED to take down and now I have to wait on her to send the hair to me before I can make an appointment with someone else! VERY INCONVENIENT SITUATION SHE CREATED which could have been avoided by simply accommodating me and rescheduling my appointment!! I am still waiting on the hair since this happened two days ago... I will need to update this review as to how long it took her to send me the hair or if she even does. (We will see...) Chevon stated her policy is this way because she has many clients that fill up appointments fast and the weaves block out 4 hours of her day that she could have filled the space with someone else. If that's the case a 6 day notice of rescheduling is plenty of time to fill a spot. Especially if you are in such high demand. For this reason it is stressful to make an appointment with her and not know if she is going to blacklist you because you can't keep a weave appointment. I suppose you need a doctors note in order to have any other obligations that interfere with her "high demand" hair appointments. If you know you won't have any emergencies then go ahead and book a weave with her but if you're like me and your work schedule may change don't lose your $50 deposit and be stuck scrambling for someone else to do your hair! SMH! I'm EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED she thinks running business this way is acceptable and hope she soon understands this is ridiculous and unrealistic for all clients. I don't know who she thinks she is but even celebrity hair stylist are able to reschedule clients. She already gets to keep the $50 deposit which is a new thing stylist are doing in my opinion I never heard of this but I understand if an appointment is canceled they want to be able to collect money for their time but then to blacklist a client for something they have no control over and for the first time is just wrong. I could see if I was consistently rescheduling then I would say that's fair. Shame on her for her lack of care and customer service only thinking about herself as far as circumstances. I AM PISSED!!! UPDATE:After messaging Chevon on our preferred social network of choice, Instagram, It had been 2 days that passed by for me to believe she was not responding in the same timely manner like she usually would within a few hours to my request for the bundle of $80 hair I ordered for the appointment she refused to reschdule! I made an appointment with a new stylist as my hairstyle can't wait just because Chevon didn't think sending my bundle was a priority. Since Chevon wasn't responding I made a paypal claim for the $80. Once I sent her another message on Instagram telling her If she has not sent the bundle yet she can just refund me via paypal claim. Now she responds in a few minutes! I'm copying from my IG DM's "I'm sorry you felt the need to file a claim unfortunately a refund won't be issued the tracking number as well as all further communication will be placed under the "claim" filled via paypal. Please do not send any future communications on this thread or via text."But.. She never sent the hair and paypal had to decide in my favor on the refund! CRAZY! read more

I found this salon when I was desperate for someone to untangle my 13-year-old daughter's severely matted (more like dreadlocked) hair. Nisha called me back immediately and got my daughter in the same day. She managed to get through my daughter's hair and send her back to me with beautiful flowing healthy looking hair. We will continue to go back to her. read more

I found this salon from Yelp, and they didn't disappoint! I had the silk press and trim and let me tell you Chevon is a miracle worker. She repaired my dry and damaged hair and when I left the salon my hair was silky straight, shiny and most of all HEALTHY again! She uses quality products which repair the hair and they smell so good too. The salon itself is gorgeous inside with a beautiful chandelier and chic aesthetics which make you feel like you're truly being pampered. They also sell jewelry and accessories if you really want to treat yourself! My silk press lasted a long time like a good three weeks, which says a lot for me as I had it done for a wedding and I danced all night on the hot dance floor, I'm a busy mom of three on the go and I sweat in my hair at night. So I was amazed at how long my silk press lasted! When I went back to my wash and go, my curl pattern was still there waiting for me, so I'm a very happy girl. I was so happy that I went back to Chevon for a second visit and she once again did a FABULOUS job on my hair! You must try Chevon, you will not be disappointed she is truly talented at what she does! read more

Chevon is so professional and I absolutely LOVE my hair! Her shop is so cute AND clean! Feeling brand new! Thanks Chevon!

I found this salon and Chevon here on Yelp. I researched different stylist for weeks before I chose to try this salon. When I walked in I appreciated the glamorous decor and the soothing music. I sat and waited a bit before my luxurious shampoo and steam conditioning treatment. Chevon was very professional. She answered all of my questions and was very pleasant and sweet during my service. The services are not exactly cheap, but I am worth it! I was well served and styled as I strutted out feeling like a million bucks with my new haircut read more

Chevon is very knowledgeable about hair care & gives my hair the best press. Many have done my hair before & I would end up with a burn or with frizzy hair the next day but not with Chevon. I started going to Chevon in 2011 and no one has pressed my hair since. I don't trust anyone in my head with a pressing comb, hot curlers, scissors, hair dye, bleach or cellophane etc., but Chevon. So if you love your hair & want to keep it. Go to Chevon's shop & have a sit in her chair. Satisfaction guaranteed! read more

I was referred by my co-worker and when I tell you this has by far been the best referral ever I really mean it! Chevon's salon is quite classy. She offers exceptional service from start to finish. You can book an appointment on Style Seat or text her directly. What I LOVE is that you don't get to her salon and sit for hours on end. You arrive at your appointment time and Chevon gets you started right away, now how is that for hair salon service. AND she offers coffee and NOT just any coffee but quality coffee (my fellow coffee lovers can appreciate my point here). Chevon has a gifted hand, I am tender head and feel no pain and let's not talk about her styling ability-it has BOTH men and women complimenting my hair. Chevon is heads above the rest. You walk away from her salon feeling like you have your own personal celebrity stylist! And to top it all off her music selection is full of different genres and compliments the ambiance in her salon perfectly...In short, Chevon is amazing, her salon and service is unprecedented. My 2 daughters and I are now ongoing clients and you should be too! read more
