I loved talking to the hair dresser, she was super nice and easy to talk to but I simply didn't leave too satisfied. I asked for a subtle bayalage on my medium brown hair and it was far from that. At first, my roots came out to a weird orange brown with a lot of streaks in some weird brassy blond that matched the rest of the bayalage streaks in my hair. I asked her to make the roots a darker brown that was closer to my natural brown hair color which she graciously did but I still noticed a reddish tint to that brown color. She also toned my hair again since the streaks were not subtle and too blond for my liking but I could tell it didn't do much. My hair is also naturally wavy so I asked for long layers and i feel like there are some weird cuts that stop in the middle of my head, obviously not good on wavy/ curly hair because it won't help with the puffiness. I also don't remember seeing any beauty school certificates anywhere in the studio. I hope it was just me that didn't leave too happy but i myself wouldn't necessarily recommend. Again, nothing bad again on the hairdresser herself, just leaving the review based on my personal experience. read more

What's crazy that before I went to the hair salon I was very very scared because I have had some bad experience at different salons. I did read the comments that were left they were good somewhere bad but I took that chance and I was happy with it . So this isThe reason why I'm giving them five stars is because they took the time to listen to what I wanted to do to my hair gave me advice instead of doing it to make sure that I get the right hair color ,very friendly very professional good environment I did read a couple of the reviews of them saying they didn't know how to cut hair but I didn't have a bad experience with the cut let alone I didn't have a bad experience with the hair dye. Espie is amazing. However the other girl, I believe her name is Tiffany gave me choppy hair. It wasn't textured nor layered correctly. I looked like I went threw a lawnmower for a haircut. I have shoulder length hair. I'm trying to grow it out and get all the bleachiness out of my hair. Espie was doing an amazing job with helping but when I had scheduled an appt for Thursday there was a miscommunication and I was booked for Wednesday. I arrived there on a Thursday with no Espie in sight. The red haired girl was. She looked bored, probably a slow day. She asked if I wanted a haircut from her and I thought to myself why not. It can't be that bad. I have longish hair now. She won't mess it up like she did with my grandmother, whom has a pixie cut. She was nice and all. Not very talkative as Espie. She had this borish look as she cut my hair. I should have just declined and made another appt. My hair is still choppy and now I'm afraid of going to get my hair cut again. I've been looking for a good, affordable hair salon to go to after the ladies across the street kept messing up my bangs. Trusty yelp led me here! Espie cut my hair perfectly--she added volume and bounce to my flat, unmaintained hairdo. And it was only $10! I was seriously in sticker shock, but in a good way! Espie also holds up a good conversation, which sets me at ease. That's especially helpful since I tend to get nervous as any hairstylist starts snipping at my hair. My lil boy needed a cut so I yelped for a spot that was kid friendly and nearby. Saw the 5 stars so I called in and luckily got a spot. Came in and was welcomed by Espie and explained that this was his first real haircut and just didn't know how the boy would act. She asked what I would like but i didn't know either so I asked for her opinion and being that the kids hair was thin she suggested a regular haircut which turned out very good. In the end my boy looked clean and I found this experience to be good. I love the helpful and personal touch to this and overall a very good value. We come across many barbers, but this place is the one! Right when I walked in they have a me food welcome and immediately became a part of their environment. I was sort of hooked because I haven't been to a salon in forever, well because I used to cut my own hair, but nothing comes close to Espies! I was say down by, Ricky, a nice, easy going, down to earth, chill Filipino man. We had a conversation all the way through my cut. Fun! I have medium-long hair, and Ricky, having barely any experience on cutting this type of hair did an extraordinary job! I loved the time and dedication he put into doing and after styling my hair!!! I was in heaven to see such a beautiful transformation done by his hands. Pure art! I'm sure the other workers are good too, but I think my personal barber from now on will be Ricky! Although it's more of a great clips type service, where the haircut is quick and extra attention is not given to the details or double checking to make sure that layers are blended well. I have only been to 2 other salons for haircuts and hair color and wasn't fully satisfied. On yelp it said no appointment necessary, but Espie's gets booked quickly and so I booked an appointment with Tiffany. This was the first time I was ever bleaching my hair so I didn't know what to expect. It was a long process, but the results were amazing! Tiffany takes her time and puts in a lot of effort in your hair. She also gives good advice on how to protect your hair afterwards. I'll definitely be coming back to get my lighter + re-toned. The rating is very very misleading. I went here because i saw their 5star rating so i gave it a shot. I was not happy with the result of my haircut at all. They butchered my hair to the point that i needed to go to a different salon the same day just to redo and fix it. Like what the other commenter said, they dont blend the layers. This review is 4 months overdue, haha. But before I came here, I had hair that was uneven and had been bleached and dyed black. I called in the morning and requested for an ombre and was able to get my hair done the same day. Tiffany quoted me $120 and I received a free haircut for checking in. It took 5 hours to bleach and cut my thick hair, but it was worth it! My hair was now even and the color is nicely blended. Because a lot of work was put into my hair, Tiffany told me that it was supposed to cost more, but she let it slide since it was my first time here (: I'll definitely be coming back soon for a touch up! read more
