This young lady did a great job on my extra frizzy, curly hair that was out of control. I needed a haircut desperately. I looked on Yelp and got lucky with this young lady. Old school place with old school vibe. Her prices are too low! I told her that too. read more

Amazing job done by Maria! She was detail-oriented & very communicative with how my hair would turn out. I had black roots, with grown out platinum blonde tips. She did a root melt ! Right now it's ashy silver; will eventually fade to blonde. She also did a trim & styled it SO CUTE! *she & Espie have good expertise; they consulted me & explained how to maintain the hair read more

I have found my new hair salon!! I called on a Wednesday morning and was able to get a same day appointment which was awesome. Espie was so amazing and talented. I hadn't cut my hair in almost 1 year...I know all bad lol. Espie removed a lot of my damaged ends and gave my hair life again. I loved how she trimmed my bangs. Price was very affordable. So glad I found this wonderful hair salon. read more

First off, I just want to bless Tiffany's soul because she completely transformed my hair into pure gorgeousness. Originally, I was drawn to Espie's because they have $15 haircuts for women. I went in with really long, super damaged, ugly hair. I asked for a toned down blonde balayage + a haircut and that's exactly what I got. To top it off, everyone was extremely kind and welcoming. The whole process took 5 hours but that might've been because I had so much hair. I've since recommended all of my family and friends! read more

I had the best experience of getting a haircut for the first time in over four years. Espie did an AMAZING job. I have been growing my hair for over four years to donate and she was able to cut the full length in several pieces so that I could donate as much as possible. Espie took her time and made sure that I had the perfect fade and the right length. I was nervous at first, but she and everyone at her shop were super supportive. This is a great place to come and "Get your hair did". =) I will definitely be back for touch ups and upkeep. Thanks Espie. Where do I begin? When you walk in the salon, the ladies will greet you with a smile and you feel good vibes coming from them. My family gets our haircuts from both Espie and Tiffany. They are both very attentive and experience. This visit though is for Tiffany. OmG!!!! She listens to what you want and need. I love the fact that she doesn't just care for the money but cares about her clients as well. I went to some salon and wanted a quote on balayage and wanted to be really light, the other salon had quoted me more than what Espie was charging. Tiffany explained why I shouldn't go lighter due to hair damages and will not look good. She cared about what was best for me. Now, I love my hair more than ever! Thanks Tiffany! read more

Love this place, love the prices, love the ladies! Both Espíe and Tiffany are extremely friendly. Very accommodating with scheduling. Tiffany is my go-to for my hair, and my boys hair. She takes her time to be sure we are happy with end product. EXTREMELY Generous with the price for their top quality service. I Will be moving to Nevada soon , but will still find a way to schedule haircuts/styling at this salon for whenever I am visiting family in Cali. - that's how good they are! read more

I loved talking to the hair dresser, she was super nice and easy to talk to but I simply didn't leave too satisfied. I asked for a subtle bayalage on my medium brown hair and it was far from that. At first, my roots came out to a weird orange brown with a lot of streaks in some weird brassy blond that matched the rest of the bayalage streaks in my hair. I asked her to make the roots a darker brown that was closer to my natural brown hair color which she graciously did but I still noticed a reddish tint to that brown color. She also toned my hair again since the streaks were not subtle and too blond for my liking but I could tell it didn't do much. My hair is also naturally wavy so I asked for long layers and i feel like there are some weird cuts that stop in the middle of my head, obviously not good on wavy/ curly hair because it won't help with the puffiness. I also don't remember seeing any beauty school certificates anywhere in the studio. I hope it was just me that didn't leave too happy but i myself wouldn't necessarily recommend. Again, nothing bad again on the hairdresser herself, just leaving the review based on my personal experience. read more

What's crazy that before I went to the hair salon I was very very scared because I have had some bad experience at different salons. I did read the comments that were left they were good somewhere bad but I took that chance and I was happy with it . So this isThe reason why I'm giving them five stars is because they took the time to listen to what I wanted to do to my hair gave me advice instead of doing it to make sure that I get the right hair color ,very friendly very professional good environment I did read a couple of the reviews of them saying they didn't know how to cut hair but I didn't have a bad experience with the cut let alone I didn't have a bad experience with the hair dye. So thank you ladies for the awesome hair I hope you ladies enjoy the rest of your day. Thank u Tiffany for my awesome hair yaaaaaa read more

Espie's Hair Studio - Back of my hair - Hair Salons Near Me - Long Beach, California

Just finished getting my 2 year old sons haircut. She has a cute little red fire engine for kids to sit in and cut his hair very efficiently. We were in and out within 10 minutes and my son hardly fussed at all. Espie is very friendly, welcoming and she did a great job with my sons curly hair. It's even and she cut it exactly at the length I was hoping for which was to clean up his little fro and keep his cute curls. I'm glad I found her, and for the price, I can afford to get his hair cut regularly! read more

Loved this place! Prices are GREAT and so is the service! Espie was able to give me the perfect shade of highlights and cut my hair without cutting it all off. The studio is very clean and comfortable. It is also close to home so that is definitely a plus! I will definitely be back and I have already referred family members to her. read more

Espie is amazing. However the other girl, I believe her name is Tiffany gave me choppy hair. It wasn't textured nor layered correctly. I looked like I went threw a lawnmower for a haircut. I have shoulder length hair. I'm trying to grow it out and get all the bleachiness out of my hair. Espie was doing an amazing job with helping but when I had scheduled an appt for Thursday there was a miscommunication and I was booked for Wednesday. I arrived there on a Thursday with no Espie in sight. The red haired girl was. She looked bored, probably a slow day. She asked if I wanted a haircut from her and I thought to myself why not. It can't be that bad. I have longish hair now. She won't mess it up like she did with my grandmother, whom has a pixie cut. She was nice and all. Not very talkative as Espie. She had this borish look as she cut my hair. I should have just declined and made another appt. My hair is still choppy and now I'm afraid of going to get my hair cut again. Espie had helped me get over my fear of it. Honestly I won't be going back if Tiffany is there. Thanks Tiffany read more

I've been looking for a good, affordable hair salon to go to after the ladies across the street kept messing up my bangs. Trusty yelp led me here! Espie cut my hair perfectly--she added volume and bounce to my flat, unmaintained hairdo. And it was only $10! I was seriously in sticker shock, but in a good way! Espie also holds up a good conversation, which sets me at ease. That's especially helpful since I tend to get nervous as any hairstylist starts snipping at my hair. My advice is call ahead of time and schedule an appointment. I was lucky that she had some time to fit me in as a walk-in. I'll definitely be back! read more

Espie has been doing my hair for 20+ years. She listens to what I want, and if she feels it will not look right she lets me know. She is the professional, and I completely trust her opinion. Tiffany is great too, I've had my hair done by her and she does an exceptional job. I love the "girl talks" and the laughs, very loyal clientele. read more

My lil boy needed a cut so I yelped for a spot that was kid friendly and nearby. Saw the 5 stars so I called in and luckily got a spot. Came in and was welcomed by Espie and explained that this was his first real haircut and just didn't know how the boy would act. She asked what I would like but i didn't know either so I asked for her opinion and being that the kids hair was thin she suggested a regular haircut which turned out very good. In the end my boy looked clean and I found this experience to be good. I love the helpful and personal touch to this and overall a very good value. I'll be here again when my kids need their hair did. Lol! read more

Espie used to cut my hair back when I was in high school almost 13 years ago. I've been coming to Espie's Hair Studio for about a year and I don't think I'll ever go to another barber unless she closes up shop. Great prices, home-feel shop, and she works with your needs/wants. So glad to have found her! read more

We come across many barbers, but this place is the one! Right when I walked in they have a me food welcome and immediately became a part of their environment. I was sort of hooked because I haven't been to a salon in forever, well because I used to cut my own hair, but nothing comes close to Espies! I was say down by, Ricky, a nice, easy going, down to earth, chill Filipino man. We had a conversation all the way through my cut. Fun! I have medium-long hair, and Ricky, having barely any experience on cutting this type of hair did an extraordinary job! I loved the time and dedication he put into doing and after styling my hair!!! I was in heaven to see such a beautiful transformation done by his hands. Pure art! I'm sure the other workers are good too, but I think my personal barber from now on will be Ricky! Thanks Ricky, you're great! Great price to! 11$ for male medium-long. Don't know if that applies to short male too. Well worth the money tho. read more

This place is very affordable for a men's or women's haircut. Although it's more of a great clips type service, where the haircut is quick and extra attention is not given to the details or double checking to make sure that layers are blended well. Therefore the 5 star rating was a bit misleading for me. read more

The rating is very very misleading. I went here because i saw their 5star rating so i gave it a shot. I was not happy with the result of my haircut at all. They butchered my hair to the point that i needed to go to a different salon the same day just to redo and fix it. Like what the other commenter said, they dont blend the layers. It looked like i just did the haircut myself. I was very disappointed. I should've listened to that other comment. I just wasted my money. read more

I have only been to 2 other salons for haircuts and hair color and wasn't fully satisfied. On yelp it said no appointment necessary, but Espie's gets booked quickly and so I booked an appointment with Tiffany. This was the first time I was ever bleaching my hair so I didn't know what to expect. It was a long process, but the results were amazing! Tiffany takes her time and puts in a lot of effort in your hair. She also gives good advice on how to protect your hair afterwards. I'll definitely be coming back to get my lighter + re-toned. Thank you so much Tiffany! I love my hair! :) read more

This review is 4 months overdue, haha. But before I came here, I had hair that was uneven and had been bleached and dyed black. I called in the morning and requested for an ombre and was able to get my hair done the same day. Tiffany quoted me $120 and I received a free haircut for checking in. It took 5 hours to bleach and cut my thick hair, but it was worth it! My hair was now even and the color is nicely blended. Because a lot of work was put into my hair, Tiffany told me that it was supposed to cost more, but she let it slide since it was my first time here (: I'll definitely be coming back soon for a touch up! read more
