Los Cerritos Mall is my go to mall and we always make sure to stop by BoxLunch. They always have a great selection of pop culture merchandise. A big portion of it is clothing but they have funko, loungeflys and other neat items. Most of the workers are really nice but there was an issue one time that made me really upset. We were looking at wallets that are located inside a locked clear box. That's fine we were looking to see the inventory as my friend wasted a new Disney wallet. Now this box is located right where the line to pay starts. A worker asked us, and I might add not in a nice way, if we were in line. We said no we're looking at the wallets and she proceeds to tell us we need to move out of the way then if we are not in line. How are we supposed to move out the way if we want to look and we're actually going to purchase. We tell the worker we wanted to get a wallet that was locked up and she looked so annoyed and ended up calling a worker who had the key and then just left. The worker who ended up helping us at the end was super nice and showed us the matching backpack that went with one of the wallets which we did end up purchasing also. The encounter we had with the first worker was honestly really unprofessional and rude. I'm glad the second worker saved our trip. This is a fun store for any pop culture or entertainment lover and make sure to shop when they have sails or when you have coupons to get the best deals.

Drove 15 miles to get a particular Loungefly Bag. Called ahead and spoke with Molly who helped me find and secure my item. She was really sweet over the phone and in store. This store has all the great finds. Glad I saved and used up my box lunch cash/coupon. Worth the wait and the drive.

BoxLunch after lunch After having a bacon guacamole burger and unlimited steak fries at Red Robin, I was casually strolling in the mall & noticed BoxLunch open for business. Arriving on their very first day in business, I delighted in checking out all the pop culture gifts for sale. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/boxlunch-cerritos?select=bevy2eD2Q_P6eL0fhf4gjA One of the employees greeted me and let me know for every $10 spent, a meal would be provided for someone in need. What a great way to do good & come home with nifty gifties all in one stroke! 'Tis the season, with Nightmare before Christmas novelties welcoming customers in. I have to admit, I've never even seen the movie, nor experienced the Nightmare before Christmas Haunted Mansion. Top it off, I have the movie lying around somewhere, awaiting some love from moi. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/boxlunch-cerritos?select=GetQWgGWWegFiPrsxD2ysQ https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/boxlunch-cerritos?select=AkqIgPGC1dtuwZRS8_G4Cg The superhero genre is well represented at BoxLunch. Dr. Strange related paraphernalia were well-represented inside the left display window, the right having Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/boxlunch-cerritos?select=LNHB-fUaKNMKu4vGinM8Eg https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/boxlunch-cerritos?select=_AJKpXVGsK1znH6RnnUxRw https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/boxlunch-cerritos?select=y7tron4afRP3Ope0OQ9eXg https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/boxlunch-cerritos?select=83bKLPT536Ny07SRov9TtQ Can't have a nerdist outlet w/o having a lot of Star Wars merchandise! I almost couldn't resist buying the Darth Vader/Stormtrooper salt & pepper shakers. So adorable! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/boxlunch-cerritos?select=GLcjmMHy63t_TtURX4boqQ https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/boxlunch-cerritos?select=N1lAiDbqCWuXIcBqfV3Qlg https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/boxlunch-cerritos?select=HsxmqQ1_YQK9g9pd4WYlhA The layout is split, with women's goods on the left. Other pop culture subjects included Nintendo, NASA, Totoro & Disney. Service was good. I talked with one of the managers about BoxLunch, finding out about their other locations in Brea, Irvine & Glendale. He also notified me not to get BoxLunch mixed up with Boxlunch, the eatery. So many things to buy, so little money! BoxLunch is a hipster's paradise, selling baubles & trinkets that'll satisfy even the most finicky Sorcerer Supreme. I would normally have given 4 stars, but because BoxLunch donates meals to the hungry, I have to give the 5 star treatment to them for doing philanthropic work. I rushed home to register for BoxLunch's Loyalty Reward program, in hopes of snagging a promo discount for the Boba Fett Hawaiian shirt. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/boxlunch-cerritos?select=RCy8em6o71jq881_-6Da5g Highly recommend!

My all-time favorite Lunch Box favorite purchase

Such an easy, great experience. I placed on online order for pickup at this location and everything went great. I got notified when my order was ready and once I walked into the store I was kindly welcomed. I wish I remembered her name but she was the only one there at 10:30 am on 2/18/22 and was being super helpful to every customer despite being the only employee there. As always, the merchandise available is always great as are their sales/promotions. Their prices are very reasonable and cheaper than re-sellers who up the prices.

Was so glad to hear that they opened up last Friday. Need to get used to the adjusted hours but that's everywhere at this point. I always preferred shopping in person rather than online, some places have hidden gems. Love dealing with Vanessa and Franz (i'm sorry if I misspelled your names!)

Omergahh, I want to buy all the stuffs!! This new addition to the C-town mall offers apparel and collectibles for the nerd at heart (everyone's got their inner nerd!). From Harry Potter, Pokémon, Star Wars, Gilmore Girls, to Disney and more - they've got it all. And it is all- So. Damn. Cute. I only wish I had some time to kill so I could spend more time perusing their cool as-all-get-out stock. Box Lunch, you got me...you really got me!

Visited Los Cerritos Center for the first time recently with my brother while we were in the area…read moreand decided to explore what the mall had to offer. First off, this place is HUGE. And the parking lot? Even bigger. My only downside personally (as someone who relies on public transportation and walking) was getting in and out. Google Maps had me on some very questionable routes, so we ended up navigating through the massive parking lot on foot, trying to find an entrance. Leaving was a bit of an adventure too since there weren't many sidewalks, so we were basically speed-walking and dodging cars on the way out! That aside, the mall itself is impressive. Tons of great stores and plenty to check out. Our visit was a bit brief since we mainly came to grab food and were already tired from an earlier adventure, but we still had a great time overall. The food court stood out to me--it's spacious and I loved that they have kid-sized tables, which is such a cute and thoughtful touch. Also, they have my favorite: Auntie Anne's, which is basically a must for any solid mall trip. Overall, this feels like a great spot for a casual mall date or just a day of shopping and snacking. I'd definitely come back to explore more (and hopefully figure out a better route next time).

I could spend hours here! There's so much to see! This shop is located at The Arbor, a neighbor of Shenandoah At The Arbor, a wonderful restaurant! Except for the sign out front, you'd think this was a residence rather than a store! Inside is chock-full of many things! Be careful walking around so you don't tip anything over! Some of the things that caught my eye were the teacups, vintage toys, & fun trinkets. They also sell garden signs, clothing, and cards! When we visited this past Sunday, they were having an Open House. They were offering hot dogs, nachos, sweet treats, and lemonade. Super welcoming and generous of them! I hope to shop longer next time I'm in the area! ~~~~~~~~~~~ *I noticed that the business name for the Yelp Page did not match the name of the store, so I asked Yelp to make the correction and they did! I'm already a pretty artsy person so this was right up my alley. My only feedback would be that I wish there were more beads and charms to decorate. I feel like the selection was a little slim and that could have very well been because we came a week after Halloween and perhaps it was a busy time? Regardless, the place was decorated so cute and the two hour time slot that I booked was exclusively for us, which I thought was really nice. Another note- the number on yelp is not updated and there are two addresses that come up when you search via google maps. Make sure you are going to the right location!

Dainty Disco is such a cute and unique craft studio in Long Beach, especially for decoden glue…read morecrafts! There aren't many places like this in the area, so it's a fun and creative spot to check out. I found them on Instagram and decided to go with some friends. I've been to two craft studios that are similar, so my review is based on experiences from other places. The booking process was super easy--you reserve online with a $10 nonrefundable deposit, which goes toward the final cost of your craft. When we went at 3 PM on a Friday, we were the only group there, so we had the whole space to ourselves. Free street parking was available right in front of the store, which was a plus! Just a heads-up, it's located in an older part of Long Beach, so keep that in mind. The studio itself is absolutely adorable - very girly and charming. It's a smaller space but seems like it could accommodate a few larger groups at a time, so if you're planning to go with a big party, I'd recommend inquiring ahead of time. One thing I really appreciated is that there's no per-person studio fee. The craft prices ranged from around $15-$45, which is similar to other craft studios I've been to. You can decorate a variety of items like jewelry boxes, mirrors, photo frames, claw clips, phone cases, and glass cups. There was a nice selection of beads, charms, glitter, and other craft supplies. Their website and Instagram list monthly specials, and this month's Hello Kitty and Sonny Angel-inspired phone buddies were adorable. The owner was incredibly sweet, and you can tell she puts a lot of love into her business. She originally started Dainty Disco as a gift shop, so there's still a small retail section with cute merchandise available for purchase. A couple of minor things could be improved. The lighting inside the studio wasn't the best--it was a cloudy day, which didn't help, but some additional overhead lighting would have been useful for crafting. Also, a few craft options were sold out; for example, they were out of the larger heart jewelry boxes and only had one smaller one left. I think a section on the website that lists the options for crafts with pictures would have been helpful in guiding customers ahead of time for their choices. Overall, we had a great time, and it was nice to support a small business! They also host monthly craft meet-ups, which I'd love to check out in the future. If you're looking for a fun and creative activity in Long Beach, I definitely recommend giving Dainty Disco a visit and I'm down to come back!
