I bought a Lids, NY Yankees, bucket hat on line that was supposedly one size fits all. When I received it, it was way too small! I came to this store to see about an exchange/credit. I spoke with a Manager named Marlon and explained my dilemma. Before I could even finish explaining myself (had original box and email receipt), he kept telling me that there was nothing he could do for me and offered no alternative suggestions. Mind you I have purchased over a dozen hats from the very same store and was a member of their discount program in the past. I feel the manager could have been friendlier and offer me constructive options. Marlon could use some additional managerial/customer service training. I'll never frequent that store again read more

Stopped by this Lids as they were having a BOGO 50% off and loved the selection of hats they had. I ended up getting a black and cream corduroy Dodgers hat which I had never seen before. The worker who was working (I wish I caught his name but it was Friday 10/04/24 around 3/4PM) was so friendly and nice! Even in that short interaction, he was such a good vibe! Most of these places should just stick to selling hats only! They should not offer embroidery services number one. They always have a attitude and don't ever wanna do it number two. They don't know how to do it. Not sure why they offer it. Number three communication is horrible, which is crucial when getting custom stitching on a hat you just purchased. Staff at lids Lakewood center, fanz Lakewood center they use the same staff. Also Cerritos same thing. Most of these young guys need to understand that you're working at a hardware store where people walk in asking for help based on services at the store offers. You shouldn't have to walk in and deal with people's attitudes who don't want to be at work and this goes for all the stores. They need to have this conversation prior to hiring these people and explain to them that this is a job with people are gonna talk to you and ask you for help.!!! we don't need to walk in and see faces and deal with this. Came in on 9/27/25 at 4:30pm because the multiple signs in the display windows say "BUY ONE GET THE OTHER FOR 50% OFF!" Picked two baseball hats and went to register. As I'm looking forward to paying $75 for 2 hats the cashier lady tells me that the one hat is not 50 percent off. I asked "why, not that's what it says on your signs?" She then tells me with her full chest out "cause one team is in the playoffs." Baffled 100%, I then entertain her by asking "the sign doesn't say that?" She said "yes it does". She then points out a line I can't see on the bottom of the 50 percent off sign cause it's such small print, that some exceptions do apply. Then giggles and tells me "inflation". I'm 52 and I know BS when I smell it. I would've respected her more if she just said "yes I know, I can see where that could be misinterpreted and misleading". Hell yes it is! I know BS when I smell it. Total false advertisement, waste of a trip driving, time and just another kid aged ploy to get you into the store only to be told the bad news at the counter. All in hopes that people accept this ok, brush it off while they're there and just settle to pay full price for both hats. In addition, prices have increased by 44%. Hats were $34 and now..$49 each. Oh and 50 percent off the second hat only if the teams are not in the playoffs. In reality, go to Lids and pay $109 dollars for 2 baseball hats. Completely unacceptable and they should be ashamed of themselves to have to trick people just to come in. I'm so irritated. read more

Don't waste your time going here for the Kobe patches. They said other locations might do them but not here. We tried calling ahead to ask but they don't pick up their phone. We also waited over 20 minutes in line with ONE person ahead of us who was chit chatting with the staff about how they should profit off Kobe's death (so gross), and no one bothered to talk to us until my newborn started fussing, just to tell us that they won't help us. Lids Locker Room is truly an athletic hat facility for what you want and when you want it!! I am so happy that the Dodger hats they have are the ones I love and truly need in the L.A. Blue realm!! When I head in, I look at every one I need to bring me up to my Dodger entity!! Plus, they for a small charge, will create a team, player or event on the hat you are focused on!! As a baby-boomer, my favorite pitcher is Sandy Koufax!! In my Dodger museum, I have a true amount of items regarding him. Terrible customer service. I stood there for a while and no one asked if I needed help. When I finally asked for help myself the people working there were acting as if I was bothering them or inconveniencing them. Two different employees did this. I ended up going to a different sports store and purchased three hats (over $100 sale) I've worked in retail and I am very empathetic towards retail workers. This was honestly just bulls*it. I needed my new business caps embroidered and Brandon Scott Soto went above and beyond his responsibilities to deliver the finished products. Brandon advised me that he only had 2 of the caps I needed in stock, to be embroidered. However, he informed me that he would call around to other stores to check their inventory. Not only that, Brandon advised me that he would be willing to stop by other store(s), on his way to work (OFF THE CLOCK), to pick up the needed caps to complete my order. I always have great service here. I ordered a jersey online and it was too big. Called the store to see if they accept online returns (since they don't sell jerseys in store) and they did! So I stopped by after work and got a refund with no problem at all. I always purchase my hats here and I recommend anyone to get the lids membership! Was looking around for a good 15 minutes while the 3 employees just stood around conversing amongst themselves. I went into this store thinking that it was going to be a mission just to return a hat that I had purchased online from lids.com, but what I happened to find was that they actually had the hat in stock, which totally made me ecstatic. Can't do a lids.com review here so the store gets the brunt of the force. Did an online order 4/10/2015 for store pick-up of Several Kings goods and a Lakers hat. Later on 7 of the 9 Kings items were OOS. They still charged me. If you don't have an item, don't charge me for it!! Simple. A few weeks later I go in store to pick up the Lakers hat and 2 of the 7 Kings items now. The rest of the 5 items are no where to be seen. The store barely knew where the items that were already there were. the items were not clearly labeled and just in a bag. I asked about the rest of my stuff but was reassured they would come in and let me know. I never had a problem with lids until about a month ago. I purchased a $40 gift card and when I tried to use it at the Cerritos location the boy told me their was nothing on the card. I emailed customer service to see how I can resolve since I no longer had the receipt. Customer service tells me the card was redeemed on the same date the store told me their was nothing on the card. They tell me there is nothing they can do because it's been redeemed. After a few attempts of me trying to get them to check the stores daily transactions I still get no response other than there is nothing we can do. This is the worst customer service I have ever witnessed. I ended up buying at hat with my debit that same day so that's 80 bucks I spent and still no help... Not even a response! Ridiculous!
